Why? You literally need nothing besides the starting set to survive, especially if you start with the proper mindset. I know I'm a rarity but I read through the wiki quite a bit before logging in my first time, helped me out quite a bit knowing exactly what I was getting myself into. Now personally, I'm one of the first people to stand up against all these "fixes" that make the game more and more grindy on the new guys, and further imbalance things, but the game itself gives you everything you need to start out. My only suggestion as has been for awhile is get the player used to *NOT* being helped at all, take bart out of the equation, and offer up a fishing rod and/or butcher's knife to get the new player started. There is no reason that the player should expect to have any coin at all, or anyone to help them, unless they join a village. I like helping people, and try to do so as much as I can (as of late I've been a tad inactive) when I can, but sometimes its going a bit far. Hell, Tamorlane personally crafted fishing rods, lanterns, jars, etc, and sold them at almost free just to help out the new folks. He's doing trips to NT to his merchant all the time with the pure motivation being to help people. Personally, I like it, but when I hear stuff like this it makes me want to convince him to close up shop.

This whole thread makes me want to hit my head against the wall. But the wall doesn't deserve such treatment... Normally, I'd try to be helpful, but man, theres literally too much help going on in this thread at this point..

All I heard was it was basic maint. nothin' more nothin' less. (we all know thats just a conspiracy to get pacer's alts off of home before we notice the purge.)

I support this idea and will be walling off my area ASAP. eventually we will all just wall ourselves off till JKH is just one big wall.

Hey Portal is a fun game that doesn't require you to play many many hours a day. people complain that Rolf isn't doing enough for the game and then say he should play Wurm as well. There just simply isn't enough hours in the day : As I've stated in the past, I'd much rather him stopping working on Wurm, and play it for a week or so, then work on it again. Unless he has some grand plan he's not letting us in on, that is. Also, Portal is fun.

I would like, before x-mas, for Rolf to sit down and play some wurm on a brand new account, without telling anyone. He needs to play for about a week, and without any help. I've suggested it before but I think it would make Wurm a much better game, that or he'd make a post about how he's quitting wurm after the first week

No, just dont make items for the game if you don't want people to use them.

Doors dont really act as anything other than doors, I had an entrance collapse while a mine door was in place. Mined it out again, made a door with the shards
