You complain here but why havent you said something to a GM? Cutting off your harbour is against the FCC, is the wall an enclosure ? While it was being made was any attempt made to stop it ? I dont see you as being a citizen of any village, whats the name of it ?

We are working on a better definition, but in the end something has to be done as most of the griefing problems start with someone breaking a players fence. What we need to look at is what is reasonable in defining the area of an enclosure. Almost there, hope its in place before you leave kadore.

I do agree we do need to look at a better definition for "enclosure". Sorry but I do find it amusing how some people make unsubstanciated smart remarks without any constructive comment. I expected that whatever we did would be fine to half of you and the rest would be complaining, so I have not been dissapointed so far. For those of you who are not enlightened, the land grab has been going on for some time, it just hasnt reached a stage that warrants intervention. Also an enclosure isnt an enclosure until it is completed.

The FCC was writen by players for the players, I am but the messanger. I would not contemplate using the FCC for game rules. Game rules are only issued if necessary AND IF they can be enforced.

latest news on this is that Osama was buried at sea. Who saw the body , was it verified by everyone ? Why do this when everyone would expect proper conclusion to this, now that the body has been dumped we will never realy know who the body was.

FYI, have a poll going for the removal of FCC. The player is using the FCC in this case to protect their property or loss. Thats not the function of the FCC, so, if its going to be used as a crutch like this case then maybe we should remove it ? Btw, there are no game rules broken in this case, and if we remove the FCC ..... go figure.

Thats it , yes or no, no use in changing it as it will still only be a guide. Thats the problem in that because its there people have expectations of it protecting them and their property. It does not and will not protect them. It cannot cover every aspect of game play due to the freedom of play that the game provides. This freedom is what makes wurn unique and enjoyable, but yes it can also create frustration when people abuse it. How many games out there have game rules ? If the game was more structured and limited as all other games are then we wouldnt need rules. But wurm being a total sandbox game there cannot be mechanics to control everything, even we cannot make or enforce game rules to cover every situation. In removing the FCC we would stop people using it as leverage to suit their situation. Everyone would then have to rely on the game rules and their own ability to secure their assets. No excuses, no blaming others, it will be entirely their fault for any personal loss.

CA cannot read /dev calls and therefore cannot reply to any such call. Also we do have case threads dedicated to FCC events. Most instances are resolved in a directive being issued to the players concerned. If that is violated then we will follow up with punitive action.

Have received a number of PM's concerning Kingdom chat moderation on wild. Just to clarify, we do not appoint moderators across kingdoms. Each moderator is appointed according to their kingdom, however they can assist with other kingdom moderation in the following situation. Most players have accounts on more then one kingdom, as do some of our moderators. those other accounts do not have moderation ability but like any player they have the right to report any breach of the rules to an appointed moderator. This is happening now and seems to be working well, as we now have a better handle on keeping the chat clean. Obviously there will be some collateral damage for which we appologise for, but in the end you will admit that we will have a better environment for all players.

What does confuse the situation is that I have recieved reports that highvoltage56 was attacking tower guards as well. Apparently they didint do well going by the amount of corpses left around. But thats something else we are looking at.

Noticed that the OP hasnt posted since starting the thread. For any others that want to Frelo ( free player solo ), there have been some good advice given in here and im not talking about the "get prem or "deed it or lose it" crowds. Dont plant seed untill you have secured the field area, unless you can afford to lose it. Security starts with a 1x1 gatehouse. Plan this where you would normaly put a gate to the fields. Plan it in such a way that if you want to enlarge this house you can later. Remember you cant destroy fences once built on your own, esp stone fences and they are what you need to use. lock everything you want to keep in a lg chest, BsB or FsB inside the 1x1. If you have livestock keep them inside the house if you have too, untill you have built a secure place for them. Once set up look at double walling around your settlement. Do not settle too close to any others, look for a secluded area. There are lots more advice that could help with this, but this isnt the place for a full definition. I like to Frelo myself and have been doing it on a couple alts. Its a style of play that can be very interesting and enjoyable. So think through the problems, use the brain, be prepared to move if necessary, dont rely on others to support your playstyle. Places are places your skills are all that matter to you, keep working on all of them, get them all to 20, and let us know how you get on.

Good luck with your search. Wurm is unique and yes its far from any concept of completion, but there isnt anything out there that comes close to it. The very unique function of wurm also alows the problelms that you are unhappy with. Remove that uniqueness and you have a game similar to all the others that most people dont play now.
