  8. The second one you can create using a wurm unlimited server giving everyone full skills at the beginning. Which would allowe everyone to play that second extremly funny part of Wurm for free without having to pay 400 USD for it. But thats the thing also, ppl wouldnt play it if everyone were on the same level. Especially not the wallet warriors (in pvp) who paid that amount of money to stand above 80% of the playerbase. Otherwise we would see more of the Wurm unlimited 10x-20x pvp servers. Now for pve its abit diffrent, I could understand if someone wanted to build a huge deed cause they simply like the building part of wurm and not the grinding part to get the skills to be able to do just that, which is why unlimited servers works so well for that type of player. *edit* But yes you are right "The real fun in Wurm isn't getting capabilities, it's using them." Its the mix of both that makes it fun and unique, the hard struggle of grinding your skills to get to use them makes you feel even more entitled/proud of the capabilities you have. The excitement of finally unlocking that ability in your meditation rank for example, makes it feel all the more special when you use it for the first time.
  9. The fact that people want to skip the most essential and biggest part of what is Wurm (a long freaking hard journey of endless grinding) means that the game isnt their cup of tea to begin with. Leave the game for players who acctually enjoy this style of big effort/high reward type of games instead of trying to fix the game into a genre/style it isnt supposed to be. Plenty of games out there for wallet whales to play, no need to pay their way to the top to defeat players who spent years grinding their characters if they dont enjoy that part of the game to begin with. Thats just feeding some kind of little brother syndrome fantasy that they want to live up to That being said, its always ok to make the grind more interesting and engaging/challenging, im all for that part! Pressing a button every few minutes isnt engaging, but wallet warriors are another part of this game that is not linked to that problem in my opinion.
  10. Sure Im ok with the restrictions we got now (coming from a priest main got no alts or nothing, been priest since first week in wurm). But if they have to add them which it seems they will, then I would like it to be worked forward over a long course of time. That would meet everyones wishes halfway, we wouldnt remove the restrictions all at once and we wouldnt keep them either completly. *edit* You meant "shouldnt" be able to build, right?

I originaly proposed the following: 70-80 faith unlocks "Continue building option" (300 days without sermons) 100 faith unlocks "Improving item option" (2000 days without sermons) 100 faith on Epic takes an eternity to get since there isnt enough ppl to do sermons (or reset faith) to boost it, you basically have the 5 prayers a day which calculates into 2000 in real life days ^ ^ (rewarding enough?) However on freedom this would obviously be achieved faster with group sermons being held and so on. But it would still take long enough to not be available to everyone as a priest within a year or two right?

I thought most of your designs looked great and beautiful as they were represented even if they werent polished, Im just really thankful for new horses that you can provide code club and the once you already provided ^ ^ Im happy you also liked the design of the leopard in that image Thanks for making Wurm better! *edit* I think I speak for us all when I say that your work is highly appreciated!
  15. The Whip is a damage type used by animals mostly "as far as I know", Crocodiles, dragons and deathcrawlers etc (when their tail hits you, it does whip dmg). Its all nice to chat with you all but it would be helpful if anyone could bring some more info/arguments about the two weapon types To help me decide if going axe is viable in pvp (I know you can go all weps, if one had the time to train them all). Im not very found of Mauls myself and prefer raw dmg, but I wouldnt like my weapon choice to bring me down (in this case axes). Is the diffrence against plate noticable enough to change the outcome of the battle drastically?

  17. I Agree 100% Gary, i would be ok seing the flat dmg bonus gone all together as its abit unfair for non-priests in war, but id also be ok with having them only on lib and mag and not the other mixed dieties, this would allowe the old gods to comeback in to the pvp meta too.
  18. It sounds like everyone is ok with Magranon and Vynora (except maybe that she changed her approach abit) since I havent heard any complains. If im wrong then please correct me, but focus seems to be heavily on Fo, which I understand since its alot of changes and its a popular god in pve and pvp. Libila has been in the spotlight aswell, now this god only exist in pvp and has a tiny community of followers (remnants of Hots and those few who are still libila priests among hots), therefore its often forgotten. Im happy @Wioloshared alot of good points on her spells in the test such as essence not working properly That being said I would like to lift up that I dont think her passives really fit someone who is supposed to be a goddess of death and decay "war" (think dark magranon version). Libila's passive except the CR bonus feels more like a support god, I kinda had the image that Blacklighters were using berserk warefare (axes as kingdom speciality), some kind of dmg increase or aggressive bonus would fit them better as a libila passive then favor generation or reduced skill on death (this if anything feels like it should by a vynora ability).
  19. Amazing work at the water, its like the game is taking a first step into modern visuals of games. (Not that I play wurm for the graphics, but its always a welcoming sight)
  20. @Wiolo Could you test something for me, I would be very grateful if anyone could tell me how the path of hate buff fowkrs against the new spells. If working as inteded then all the new offensive spells except the new aoes shoueldnt work on the hate passive buff This might also need your confirmation @Sindusk Its best if we try to work this out before the update, eveh though it isnt anything about priests its directly linked to the new spells added. "Spell Immunity Gained at level 11 Spell Immunity - gives protection against offensive spells (details needed) Does not protect from AoE effects (Confirmed by Rolf via IRC June 2013)"

  22. I need help valuating axes in pvp! please share your knowledge from experiance! For a long time now mauls have been the meta in pvp due to their bonus against plate, sometime ago sickles were also a very common sight before the nerf. Longswords/shortswords get their love when its about going defensive as the shortsword/large metal shield combo is really hard to penetrate. But what about Axes, Huge axe is still something that can be seen in pvp but when it comes to single hand weapons I rarely see axes ever used anymore. Is the maul meta just way to good to give any room for another single weapon or is there still a pros using an axe over a medium maul in a pvp fight? In this picture you can see the raw numbers of the two weps and how they differ, maul being blue and axe in purple to make it easier to compare. Medium Maul Bonuses: Mauling damage is good vs armor units. (Anyone knows the extra dmg they get?) Great at demolition as they are akin to what we know in real-life as a sledge hammer. Damage Type: Mauling Large Axe Bonuses: Cutting damage is good vs leather? (is this still a thing, cant find anything about it?) Very effective in bashing down wooden house walls, wooden fence types, wooden mine doors, and any wood furniture. Damage Type: Cutting Thanks for reading
