  1. Server shut it's self down after 2.5 days up. Found in logs this line repeating before shutdown. INFO: current mem in use: 2094M free mem: 337M Max mem: 2094M Why is Max mem: 2094M? I'd happily double my RAM after xmas. however I got a feeling I've copied a setting from my old host over to myself that is limiting my server to the MAX ram I had with them. It shut it's self down gracefully this time.

  3. I haven't found a way to do a command line graceful shut down either, anyone? Nappy is correct, however if something stops the server allowing you to login another way without issuing a kill command would be best.

  5. Sorry I didn't see your reply when I posted that. Are you using Mods as well? or whats your player avg's? Trying to future proof the server. currently I'm the only one logging in to it, its locked with a password while I test/understand Wurm servers better. I can upgrade to 8gb, but I want to make sure I need it first.
  6. I lowered NPC count to 65k and removed some entries from creatures db, running fine at 1.6GB. When I had the high NPC count it was using 380% cpu (4core server) just before it stopped working. Now its only using 20%, could it be more a cpu error and not ram? (31k creatures?? in the db file anyway) 65k MAX in the login file.
  7. 4x custom map and npc count was huge as I was mucking around over 200k. Just a little concerned that if my server reachers that much ram 2.2Gb it will play up again? Ps; will I run in to any errors using nohup?
  8. Deb 7.0 with some dev packages installed to make WU work. 4G ram Using nohup to start server Keep getting this error in nohup.out when server dies. Obv OutOfMemory gives it away, but I can't work out why since from what I can see in 'top' via putty is just over 3GB is in use, 2.2GB is the server leaving almost 1gb free.   9. Righto so I got the same server files and brought a Xen VDS today. I wanted to make sure that my review of my time with these guys was true and correct; I'd not recommend them. I could run a 2k map with no real issues but when it come to 4k - The server I was being hosted on kept crapping out and wouldn't properly boot even after 6 hours left up. Thinking that I may be at fault because I'm new to Wurm servers I decided to get a VDS and try run the same config there; I took the same server files and got a VDS with Debian 7. for only a few dollars more than the 2GB package with these guys and just to add an extra lol I increased the NPC count from 50k to 250k and it still runs/boots within a min. I'd assume overselling of ram or maxed out CPU's on some servers. From what I could tell in my tests I managed to run while still hosted with them, it seemed to be oversold ram as my server couldn't load past 1.06GB most of the time and it sat closer to 1.15GB usually EDIT: It should of actually sat at 1.6GB, the same files with same settings on VDS are actually running at 1.6GB so I'm almost 100% certain they had me on an oversold server.
  10. The lack of documentation on installing servers/managing them is appalling. More time should of been spent writing doc's. Instead of trying to quickly rip the "Wurm Online" client. Can someone please point me to: any documentation on installing Wurm server in Debian/Linux? Server file download link. Edit: I finally found it, through a google search. But what a mess, really. Thanks.
  11. Op it sounds like you hate WO and have for a long time, maybe its time to play WU and make your own game rules.

  14. WU won't remain connected if minamized, even in windows resizable. Often throwing a D/C error "Duplicate connection refused" or something along them lines. It's really starting to bug me, never had this issue with WO. Is anyone else finding this? have they found a solution?

  16. I doubt WU will damage WO in the long term. After people buy and play WU, they will one day want to play WO. I know I won't be changing much about my WO gaming. Still keeping my deed and toon.
  17. A great service for me so far. Its been a great building block to host my test server and start building a starter town. Will probably stay with them after going public too as the game control panel offers pretty much everything you need to admin a WU server easily. Uptime has been flawless.

  20. You can not withdraw money as it would be lost when you move through the portals. Is the error msg, what do I need to change?
