  1. Hosues and their walsl are one of the most strange thinsg for me in wurm. Build a caravel, how complex it is at all, while the ship is entirely made of wood, a few ropes and cloth. In contrary the house components are sooo much simplyfied that it made me wonder why this is. But I truly miss the realism of this put into the houses as well.

  3. the R in RPG is the reason, because you need to carry the money with you and the chance to lose it. It's only save in the Bank and we do not have cashless payments, because a few centuries too late for the Wurm setup.

  6. lol, thats what I did too. found one of the npc's houses had a rare fine meditation rug, and a golden source pen as well as a barrel full of wine. and a high level axe trap which of course failed to eb installed anywhwere. but there is still a chest in his house requiring lockpicking. I also found the Lady of the lake, but the complex of the building close to her seemed to contain nothing or was already raided by another player.

  8. yes valrei items seem to be randamly around in the world, going around at night is a good idea since they tend to glow a bit.

  11. Guess this is more some kind of "bugreport" Said NPC was killed at my deed, got a halbert, an easter egg and nearly an entire armor made of studded leather., but this set was missing a glove.
  12. I just did panic mode aaaand it ate me wow, I opened, very early, a mine to iron in a bay on heavenord and hit a reinfoced rocktile. At this moment no one lived around. And it was a bit strange. After we did the wargmaster mission I was thinking, hmm maybe behind that tiles is a preset tome thingy as well. location spoiler
  13. Only way I would see is merging both mapes into a big one and giving the entire new map a combined ruleset. There are 2 distinct kind of people in wurm. Worldshapers and Service providers. Service providers live on their skills, Their capital and motivation are their skills. They are not locally bound and can travel anywhere and in a quick time redo what they need, high ql tools, on which enchantings may be put on. They do what they can and its not bound to a local area. But the Worldshapers are those who create something they are connected to (not just gyus doing adigging job or minign job). Their deed, their buildings their unique location on the server. They pu time and passion into it to amke it look exactly like this. The world they shaped is what they are connected to. And you can not transport this to somewhere else. And it can not be done again without again a HUGE effort in time, because no matter how high your skills are, fining the same location is impossible, and reshaping an entire area into the same takes just extremely long. Given this is even possible. And depending on how much of the worldshaper a wurmian is in his mind, it will define how much you take from him every time you shut down a server no matter for what reason. Because this is lost once and for all unlike anything else that can simply be crafted or bought again.
  14. yes, its sad when you lose your beloved pets that went aggro and you guards are not able to know" shouldn't kill or bosses pet jsut because its now a bit mad in it's cage" Guards should at leats not attack animals that citizens "care for" even if they go mad. @OP, the issue still is I want MY bear not to be killed but probably do want the other bears to be killed. There must be some way to mark specific animals as "Do not attack this one". Maybe allow branding on all animals, or equipping them with a "Dog tag" to make guards and also TOWERGUARDS not to attack these animals when they are on the deed ther owner belongs to.
  15. reason to make stuff "easier" is new players. Whats the point in a new players existence for the old players when his skills are low, and all related other stuff he does is of low ql. he will then just be usefull for terraforming and other rather "low" works. Which in reverse means the new player knowing the other old gamer spent like 1000h+ to get where he is. And so a new player will need AGES before finally adding some true new value for the community he joined. A reason why a new server gets rushed by so many players is the even situation all start with. And so all have an rather equal valuable. Untilt he No life hardcorgamers outclass and obsolete the casuals which then start to retreat. Material loss is the worst idea of them all because it makes the new player even have a bigger gap to the veteran player. There needs to be a system that connects veterans and new players better. The farming veteran will always harvest because he gets the valuable stuff, the newbie not, because it is not granting much if you farm 2 ql 20 pumpkins while the veteran gets his 8 pumpkins of high ql. And this continues to everything, form ore mining to smithing to whatever. I feel it right now again by playing WU. If youare the active gamer you and the world around you grows with you. But when you are the lowie, you justs tand ther ein the huge world where you have not much use except dedicating a LAOD of skillgrind for items without use until you reach a similar level or skill as the people around you. Interaction is the best when everyone around needs each other. But as a low character you feel a bit like a useless sidekick. And then selling your crap is even more harder because others already have their high ql enchanted tools to sell. So at this one point I love that in WO you can do everything on your own, yet it also is the doom for player interaction because the vets have most stuff so high up they don't need anyone around anymore. it would be cool if we had some menthorship programs where a scholar or 2 can use the skill of their master, or at least to 80% when he is around. This way two newbies could be as useful as their master and they can all 2 or 3 together work with equal efficiency to the same goal. or make some profession choices so a player can choose like 10 skills he can max up to 100 and the rest can not exceed 60.
  16. Hmm, yeah this or some kind of "Storage management" item that you can connect to a door, which then can be conncted to all crates in like 4 tiles surrounding. It's just the HUD management pain that crate storage cause that make some weird micromanagement a painfull process.
  17. I need MORE well ok, seriously, what annoys it that rice wine and wine require maple syrup. And maple syrup is only available at a very limited timeframe of the year. Especially for the rice wine its rather problematic because unlike wine it does not increase in ql, rice wine rottens away. But I like to storage always a constant supply of itself and not just it's components It would be very nice if we had some other sources of sugar like products to create wine, rice wine and maybe mead? Like Sugar cane Sugar beet a beehive? that creates a very low amount of honey, dependend on how many flower tiles (and maybe crop) tiles are around in a 5x5 tile area.

One point is the server list, it is unstable, My Internet serverlist shows totally different results for each refreshing. yet when I have a friend playing on the server I usually play this server always is visible in the friend tab, yet the internet list still does not show it, just sometimes. And So I guess a lot people came on the server, didn't found it again and left. Because the favourites, internet and history tab do not show the server at any refresh. Which may lead some form thinking it's offline and going somewhere else. true, but the Personal edition is very limited because a lot features are not remade to work for solo gameplay. Many features (spells?, but at least creatures) require many players to be done.
  19. Well, I am not more familiar with the Valrei mechancis than what the Wurmpedia info give. Becaus least time I played WO was around 2007 and only like 2 weeks in 2012. We have a mixed server and the most active players are currently "freedom isle" Inhabitants. So effetcs of the gods to kingdoms will not even affect us in any way since we do nto have a good at all. Which is also kinda sad, because the other kindgoms are hostile towards freedome. So beeing "freedome" is basically just having downsides without advantages. Or a I wrong here? At the beginning we listened to the conch it guided us to an encaged altar of FO. It contained a green tome with 3 charges. We were 4 players. So we will not be able to receive further ones?Oor will these items still respawn randomly? So how do we obtain further tomes in this constellation? On mixed servers Freedom Isle deeds need kingdom area, so you build a guardtower creating "freedom isle - kingdom area". Yet we are without a god, so we would never receive any Sorcery items due to not having a main god for our kingdom. Those of us who are now Worgmaster can listen to the conch again and get a mission for necromancer. Wonder if such an item now exists or is created even. Maybe Rolf could change Vynora to be godess of the freedom isles for mixed Servers? The worst choice then is obviously being a Vynora follower of the freedom kingdom since it means, not getting anything, due to not having missions to be done for your deity, nor being able to receive stuff from winnign the epic scenario. Magranon, Fo and Libilia followers of freedom isle inhabitants can at least do missiosn for their diety and help it affect the Valrei Map. Ok you cna also do missiosn for other gods, but thats well, not the same somehow. Can we now even get further sorcery items.? currently the only way seems to create alt accounts do missions for another kindagom and give the items over to our freedom chars, but this feels more a bit like an exploit or abusing the mechanic. Similar stuff counts for the merchants. Freedom Isle does not have a merchant. And what about the HOTA Zone? How does that affect freedom isles aligned players?
  20. Do the missions in WU affect the Valrei misisons and scenarios? as follower of Vynora I just have not seen any missions atm for her. So if ther eis an effect, how is one supposed to help its diety when it never creates any missions?
  21. For a single player the chances may be small but there will be playrs here or there havign this issue. We happily sailed yesterday ot the worgmaster mission location as suddnely from a small island we got flanked by the green hatchling. And it ate us due to wind having been so low we couldn't escape form it in any direction. A single player using WU for singleplayermode will simply never have a chance to take it down.

  23. So when its an performance issue, why not making it into an choosable feature via options? Wooden textures: Simple complex but some other changes, like no tree collision and also animals able to walk all slopes feel too weird. those 87degree cliff walker sheeps and pigs, just wow -.-
  24. makes you wonder when WU is supposed to be played alone (see bridgebuilding changes) maybe you can solo a white dragon with nearly maxed FS and armor. I eman how else would someone on soloplay ever get rid of one?
  25. Are the maps totally identically? like even ore veins at the same place? also do we have some confirmations of those materials existing on both maps?
