  1. Will always remember your brief visit to my little island on Pristine. I wish you and yours all the very best for the future- who knows, you may one day decide to give Wurm a go again, and if you do, you will surely receive a warm welcome from the community.
  2. As a confirmed PvE player, I find this post to be very interesting and informative. Making a diary-style set of posts would make a good read. Good luck in your new world- I look forward to reading some more of your 'adventure'.
  3. I would leave the EU and focus on trade with it, the Rest of the World and of course the Commonwealth.
  4. If you have played for about a month and then decided to go premium then I reckon that Wurm has hooked you with her charms. Congratulations- I (Kalmit) look forward to seeing you in-game.
  5. I have had deeds on four different servers. My main place now is on Pristine. I have been here since the start and plan to be here as long as possible. My deed is the first place that I have had that has access to the sea so it is special. The people around me are kind and helpful. I have found everyone that I meet to be positive and friendly. Pristine is now low on numbers of players but what it lacks in numbers it makes up in many other ways- it is a place to call home.
  6. As volunteers, the staff are on a hiding to nothing and yet I have 'seen' some do a great job on the CA channels in particular. Some make themselves available to help more than others- that is their choice. I will not embarrass or name any assistants here but some have the patience of Job and others are skilled in the way that they can use humour to defuse situations. Do they get it wrong sometimes- of course they do. They are not there to be infallible they are there to help and support Wurm. I for one think they do it in an admirable way- and no, I did not get paid to write this.
  7. This was my first ever 'slaying' with Kalmit. Thank you to everyone involved in such a well-run community event. I would recommend anyone who is unsure about going to a future one to give it a go- you even get some blood
  8. The mention of his name evokes warm memories of a distant childhood spent imagining what our Universe could be like. He painted some wonderful pictures in my mind. RIP
  9. Extended downtime

Well, good luck to all involved then. I must say how impressed I have been at some of the ideas that the community have come up with- also shows how little I actually know about the working of a game.
  10. Good idea. As a beginner, I deeded over a tar pit not realising that I was in effect depriving other players of the resource. If this choice was available, I would have been able to open the pit up for all.
  11. Greetings from the far S of Pristine. If you travel this far, be sure to visit Troshkas Nest (P22). I cannot offer a lot except a warm welcome. You have made a great choice of server! Good luck Kalmit
  12. Islands have their charm, advantages and drawbacks over mainland areas and I can understand the draw that this place has for you. I would suggest that you get a more experienced player to get rid of the Hell-Hound as it will probably kill you first. A fight skill of 40+ is recommended to tackle one.
  13. I love the tapestries / pictures. Have the Kyara, Festivities and Cavalry designs been taken directly from the Bayeux Tapestry?
  14. I do not play on a PvP server and I therefore cannot really discus the pros and cons of such servers, however, I must say that Rolf and the team have done their best to create another aspect / challenge of Wurm. Their efforts should surely be praised even if Storm does end up being unloved by some. It is surely better to try something and find out one way or another than wondering what if?
  15. Happy New Year from the N of England
  16. I think your idea for a deed bundle is a good one however, although I do not have full chain armour, I would not want to buy the armour. I want to achieve it using my own skills. I would suggest that most long-term players in Wurm would take that stance. Advertising is crucial for Wurm so I completely agree with your second step. I (and many others) have invested large amounts of time and money into deeds on the smaller servers. I have found a niche place on Pristine and will likely never be able to find a similar place. Other players will likely feel the same. I therefore cannot imagine that the developers would contemplate such an action- well meaning though your idea is. The tutorial has been updated, however anything to improve the experience for new players is to be welcomed.
  17. A great gift- traditional and very well thought out. Thank you
  18. Hi Morrowen, far be it for me to tell you what to do but could I suggest that you have answered your own query. You have a friend(s) in the area that you live- you could work together, support one another and create an Alliance and thriving community in your area. You say that you have plans for your area- why not go with your plans. If you feel that you cannot do more then that may be the time to try somewhere else. Good luck with your decision.
  19. Server(s) down

Yes, I have just got kicked off.
  20. Remember when...

thinking that a 16k BBC Micro-computer was fantastic
  21. I have no wish to play this style of ,however, I do understand that it may be exactly what existing players or new players are looking for- even for short interludes. There are important things that do affect the enjoyment of Wurm such as bugs. lag etc. These should be (and probably are) a priority for the development team. I do think we should give praise where it is due. In my opinion the developers are doing their utmost to give us new possibilities and challenges in this most unique game. New plans and developments are presented almost weekly. I believe we should give them a chance with this new server, who knows it may actually be a success and bring new players into Wurm. Let us not criticise people for trying new ideas.
  22. [20:56:46] You get a corpse of old seal. Lost a seal today as well. It was kept in a pasture next to water and fed every day. Had damage of 50- not sure if that is relevant. Fields have 2 other seals and a dog- no damage.
  23. Hi Eguile- living in the area around SE Troll Mountain, I can confirm that there are areas here that may suit your needs. Good luck wherever you and your friend decide on.
  24. Halloween is derived from the fact that tomorrow is All Saints Day when people in many countries remember the members of their family who have died- so in effect it means 'All Hallows Evening'.
  25. The site suggested by Radni is fascinating and I would recommend it to anyone with an interest in sharks, oceanography and science.
