  1. That's not really an issue of horizontal or vertical progression though, that's just an issue of the dev team being small, thus limiting how much we can get update wise. Though I think skins are partially to blame as well, especially cosmetic non-tool skins. If those had been added as new items then we'd actually have some new interesting items. The farming thing for example isn't even a lack of content being the cause, but the cooking system just making pizza the only thing really worth making. I'd say the implementation of the food affinity system is partially to blame. Just imagine if each recipe gives an affinity from just a small group of skills (like 3-5 or so) instead of all skills, then you'd suddenly be making all kinds of different foods instead of just pumping out pizza. And thus you'd want to farm different things as well.
  2. I don't think new maps are really needed for that, especially if you look at the player density. Especially SFI where both the density is far lower and the amount of servers (and coastline) is far greater. Xanadu alone probably has more coastline than all of NFI combined. Of course you can't get there as you are on NFI, not even a one way trip is possible. Adding such an option would be a lot healthier for the game than adding more servers. What I'd advice you to do is to make a boat and go sailing around the available servers in NFI. You'll probably be able to find something as long as you don't just look for untouched places. An area that used to be deeded could also be an option, after all nothing is stopping you from completely changing such an area with digging/mining. That's what I did on Xanadu years ago. If you compare what was there when I found it to what is there now then you'd never recognise the place.
  3. That's the usual value without crates, I'd say 1s per K is pretty fair when crates are included.
  4. Why would you even expect them to add new end game gear (vertical progression) in an MMO whos updates have pretty much entirely focused on horizontal progression for the last decade or two?
  5. For your second point SFI seems like the best choice since the player density is far lower there. Xanadu is probably the no brainer choice due to it's sheer size if you want to get anything close to a new player/hermit lifestyle. You can even see it on the community map, sure there are a lot of roads/highways, but the server is also massive so the scale can be deceptive. You could easily aim at a large forest and settle in the middle of it without being too close to any roads. Points 3 and 4 on the other hand feels like harder ones. From what I've heard prices are generally higher in NFI, so if you plan to buy stuff then it's not great, but for selling stuff it might be better than SFI. On the other hand I've heard that it's easier to create rares on SFI and those usually go for a few silver each, so there's that. But take all that with a grain of salt, I'm not too up to date on market stuff.
  6. Interesting that they used AI to generate stuff for the website, especially as that would mean that they do not even own the copyright on a lot of the content currently present on the website.
  7. I think it can actually bring some new players back. After all, imagine that you quit, your deed is gone and you only have left what is in your inventory. Restarting can feel like a bit of a hurdle then. Yet with a temporary server like Jackal none of that will hold those people back as you have no choice but to start from scratch on those and any old baggage that you had left from the past becomes irrelevant and will stop holding you back. Besides that it also helps keep existing players invested and interested, thus retaining them to the game for longer. That too will help drive player numbers up. Furthermore those temporary servers can have faster gameplay (both skill gain and action timers) without affecting the rest of the game, thus offering new possibilities to people whom might have been put off by how slow the game can be initially. And as we all remember from Jackal, from a cashflow point of view it will mean plenty of deeds being set up on said server, etc. So it should be a good silver sink. Of course a copy paste of Jackal might not be that interesting, but I'd imagine that they could make something quite interesting once features like the goblin camps are done. Just imagine having to slowly conquer a map filled with goblin camps of varying strength, perhaps also with some other mob related camps (like trolls). Then also have those camps function as spawners, from which large groups/hordes of mobs occasionally spawn in attempts to drive the players out of the map.
  8. Yet history shows this isn't the case at all, even when adding several new servers in a short period of time, things remained stable at best while being spread more and more thinly over more and more servers. I think temporary servers like Jackal have the most potential.
  9. This suggestion seems to assume that the new cluster was the reason for the increase in players/deeds back then, even though it was combined with the Steam release. So who is to say a new cluster on it's own would be anywhere near as effective? Past results have shown that adding new servers, without doing anything else, does nothing but thin out the player base on the long run and you can see the effect of that when looking at SFI, not great. So perhaps this would work if you combine it with say, adding the game to another game store (Epic or GoG perhaps?). Besides that it would probably do more harm than good by further thinning out the player base. Though perhaps that could be somewhat negated by at the same time combining SFI and NFI into one cluster? Overall I still don't really see the point of adding a new cluster, especially when some of the existing ones aren't doing too hot right now. They should really focus on that first.
  10. I think an overview of merchants and their items like this would be great. Especially on SFI where the player base is spread thinly. Recently I visited a marketplace which used to be quite active the last time I went out of my deed, but now there was nothing much there. Effectively leaving me with no clue in game on where to go for finding merchants. I could certainly scour the forums for it, but then often you still don't have a clue whether you'll find what you're looking for. With how spread out SFI travel time will become quite excessive as well compared to NFI. The current situation in SFI definetely warrants the implementation of something like what is being proposed here. It would really help a lot in knowing exactly where you need to travel to in order to find the item you want. But if you ask me, the greatest advantage to this proposal is the following: People will be able to put merchants on their own deeds, as this system will supply them with all the exposure their merchants need. This is not just great for the owner of the merchant, but it also encourages people to travel all over the place instead of just to a few marketplaces. At the same time marketplaces still have a purpose and don't become redundant, just like how people in real life like going to the supermarket. So I think that it's a really great idea that fits well with Wurm.
  11. Now that would be a great feature to have, especially in SFI where the players are spread quite thinly. Right now if I want to buy something I wont even bother with merchants since it's like looking for a needle in a haystack, you're better of just spamming WTB in trade chat or making a WTB forum post. Even visiting a marketplace or two isn't a guarantee you'll find something of interest, or that the marketplace you knew even still exists. Just knowing where I need to travel to, in order to find a merchant which sells something I want, would be a big help.
  12. That's where you allow it, but only through systems created by the devs, with them taking a nice cut. Thus indeed genius if done right. For example, just imagine a character transfer option costing a flat 100 euro, or 30% of the transaction, whichever is higher. But if I remember correctly It was removed because allowing such things are a big no if you want your game to be available on Steam.
  13. I would like to buy all 36k. I'm located at H8 on Xanadu (northern tip of the island) and I have crates available for swapping.
  14. The best replacement for rift pens is to make the rift creatures go through walls as if they aren't there. Then you'll never have to worry about making rift pens again. Or to make it look good, just make them bash it all down. Trolls used to do just that back in the day too.
  15. I would like to buy the 25200 dirt you have in stock, could you send them by Wagoner to Ecrir?
  16. Not really, as there was never a set time on how long the discount would apply, thus making it indefinite. Due to that people would plan around that when designing the size of their deed. That's something people wouldn't have done if they knew the discount was only temporary. Everybody wont be on an equal playing field after this, you see, an equal playing field won't ever exist to begin with, as that would require everybody to have an equal amount of money which they can spend on Wurm.. After all after this now we will have 3 groups of players, one which hasn't been affected, one group which can absorb the increase in pricing, and one group which is going to need to make some really painful deed resizing choices and potentially throw a lot of their work away. Indeed all very equal.. That third group is honestly getting really really screwed over. Thankfully I'm in group 2 as I can just drop prem on an alt without issue, but I really feel sorry for the people in the third group if nothing is done about this.
  17. The negative effect of removing the trader discount (sudden 25% increase in deed upkeep) seems to be easy to compensate for, just reduce all deed upkeep prices permanently by 20% and you will have a horde of happy and satisfied players. Perhaps adding a deed upkeep reduction item to the silver shop could work well, that's an easy way to reintroduce it
  18. it's not right click that's the issue. The default action with trellises, even with sickle active, is always take. Even when the thing can be harvested, pruned or has a sprout. Thus you need to use other keybinds for those actions with trellises. So all it takes is pressing the keybind for the default action in order to accidentally take the thing.
  19. That would truly be great. There's nothing that annoys me more than accidentally picking up a trellis during harvest season.
  20. Please cod it all to Ecrir if you still have it.
  21. That's not a red flag, privacy is most certainly a valid concern, especially with the GDPR in the EU. That's assuming you were the one that took part in those communications, which is an assumption that they cannot make as account sharing happened a lot back then and there's also no need for it to have been you who transferred the account to the current owner. After all, for example you could easily have sold it to somebody else, whom then sold it to the current owner. So considering the GDPR, you can pretty much forget about receiving a copy of those communications from the staff as I doubt they'd make such a basic mistake as to share such information.
  22. Sounds like you shared that account with somebody else and they sold it to the current owner in 2014? You already couldn't use the account in 2016 and instead of doing something about it then, you made a new account and ignored your old account? Now another 7 years later you finally want that old account back, while whoever bought it (likely in good faith) has owned the account for most of it's existence and quite possibly invested more time and money into it than anybody else ever has? I'd love to get a (probably) high skilled account without putting much effort into it as well, but I don't think that's how it works . Besides that, back then there were clear warnings about account sharing and the risks involved, including that no help would be offered if accounts were lost due to that. I think if you had gone after it when you first noticed issues in 2016, then you'd have had a pretty good argument for it, but instead you abandoned it and left it like this for another 7 years. Trying to get it back now is just rediculous, and extremely unfair to the current owner of it, if you ask me.
  23. Please CoD the following to Ecrir: Both crystal runes of Libila. 12 highest ql of the wooden silver runes of Magranon.
  24. I'm currently saving up my maps while working on projects. I'm going to try them in the future. So I've refrained from voting since I don't yet have a feel for the mechanic.
