Let's be honest, here, in this particular game, yes it can backfire because everyone knows that Rolf is the most diplomatic person, and the fact that this isn't the friendliest of the MMO communities. There are lots of other small games(and MMO) in which the idea works, why? because it obviously need some goodwill on the devs side, and let's be honest, the community in this MMO has more prejudices and bad-blood than your average MMO player-base. With some very old players, which doesn't particularly helps the cause. Being realistic, yes. In this forum, in this game, knowing how are the current devs and the player-base, I agree with you that the idea would backfire, and backfire hard. *sigh* But I can dream, can't I? I just hope that when I'll get older all these silly optimism and silly happy thoughts will stop.

That raises a very good point. Did you really expected constructive conversations in a thread in which its very own title is flame-inducing? I think absolutely everyone guessed right in what this whole thread would develop into. Once again, I still think that even the developers incites and promotes this whole PvP vs PvE amongst its player-base. For once the total lack of communication. First I would start by having devs that actually communicate with the player base and not their IRC buddies, to have a better game in general. From there we would have a solid base to work on. And when I mean "communicate", I don't mean a thread asking for feedback, but actually replies and conversations. I don't think its too much to ask about it, specially given the small player base and the even smaller population of players that use the forums. It's not like would be thousands upon thousands of people on the forum. Now I'm going to get my popcorns and keep enjoying the show.

PvE? in Wurm? Please, it takes one month of light grinding to be able to solo troll champs. then you can AFK in the middle of the forest and let auto to do all the job. Wurm is a PvP game. And some people plays it as PvN. And yes, crafting and building is PvN.
