  2. So sad to hear you are leaving. You are truly one of Wurms very shiniest rares. Thank you for being our newsman and giving so much pleasure to so many with your weekly news post. Fair winds Mr Baron.

    Haha thank you Chiqa.

And thank you for keeping positive and hopeful even in instances when the majority is not.

For being a person giving the benefit of doubt,

    :)

  3. Such sad news to hear of Johan's leaving. Thank you for all you've done for Wurm... you've gone a long way in improving communication with the players. Sure hope this isn't a laid off situation, especially after the recent office change. That just wouldn't seem right. I hope they realize the public face of Wurm is just as important, if not more so in some ways, as the development backend.

Thanks Araninke and I do appreciate your support.

It is because of wurmians like you communication has been easier to improve, believe me hehe ;)

  4. Aww, Johan, you will be truly missed. :( These news left me speechless and genuinely sad to see you go.

Thank you for all your time here, thank you for the wonderful news updates, for your enthusiasm, and for just having been a part of this all. I think the fact that most people didn't even comment on anything else in the update post other than to say you will be missed speaks volumes in itself about how appreciated you were in this community.

And Rolf made a huge mistake in letting you go, but I won't rant excessively about that right here because right now, I just need to say goodbye first. But still, Rolf, seriously, this is a huge mistake.

Johan, I wish you all the best in the future, and again, thank you for your time spent here. I'm sure that, with you being who you are, you will be just as appreciated in your next endevour too!

Tusen tack, många kramar, och ett stort lycka till!

Sia, thank you. You are to kind.

The pleasure is mine to have shared this time with you all because it is a joint endevour.

If I would not have enjoyed talking with you all so much there would not have been such enthusiasm ;)

    All the best to you!

  5. Johan,

As you leave to peruse other avenues in your life, you will certainly be leaving a big hole in the Wurm community. It will be hard to accept that you're leaving from the CodeAB team, but hopefully not from Wurm Online and the Wurm Online community altogether. There will be no replacing someone like yourself. I don't feel anyone else will be able to quite continue on with the same quality, creativity, and humor that you brought to us through your weekly newsletters. There was certainly a special touch you added to each one, that made them such a pleasure to read, and something I greatly looked forward to each week.

I can already tell I'm certainly not alone when I say this, you will be greatly missed, however I wish you the very best with whatever life brings your way. Hopefully this is only just a farewell, and not goodbye.

Thank you Drakeling, your words truly do warm my heart :)

I hardly feel deserving of such praise my friend but I am non the less glad to have made a difference to you.

It is always fun to add a bit of personal flavor when you have such a flamboyant crowd to tease hahaha.

  6. Johan.. oh man ;( you will be missed seriously.

I think wurm needs more focus on PR, so hope that thing still keeps running.

Wish you best journeys in your life. You have shared your life and soul and creativity, it has not gone to waste, it made an affect that cant be taken away

Much love and peace. Hate to see favorites go.

Hahaha Silakka, such a rascal :P I have enjoyed hanging out with you here on the forums.

All the best to you as well.

  7. Good luck Johan!  I have had a lot of fun working with you on various background issues and projects.  When you were added to the team It was a good feeling and we were able to bring a lot of things together.  This is sad news, but onwards and upwards as some pencil drawing once said.

    Right back at you Enki.

You are truly a benchmark for what I will think of as a gamemaster and a mind with a just way of rational thinking.

And on a personal level an awesome and selfless cool dude.

Keep that nose over the water man ;)

And remember, share the load hehe.

Thanks for all your help and collaboration, I have always appreciated and enjoyed it.

  8. Out of all of the topics in this thread, this one grips me the most. RedBaron I've -loved- your posts. The charming and lovely personality, the patient and friendly way you interact with us in the forums, it all really oozes through in your posts and as I've seen it mentioned in some other thread, seeing that there is a new Wurm update has been a little bit like Christmas. Not only because of the Wurm news itself but also because of the lovely vibe I get into after reading. I know this sounds exaggerated and dramatic, but really - the way you write just has that something that cheers me up after a long hard day at work. When logging into Wurm and seeing the banner, the first thing I do is click it to get a little cheerful pick-me-up before logging all the way through into the game. I for one will miss you a lot!

Please know that you gave a lot of value to the players of Wurm and the very best of luck to your next challenges!

  9. Red Baron...

Hearing you leave is really, really sad news. You have been the face of Wurm for many of us for quite some time. What made you particularly successful was your constantly positive attitude, your enthusiasm for the game that shone through all your posts, and your sense of humour that had many of us laughing out loud at our computers many times. Whevever we saw you in a picture or a video, you were always smiling. You will be missed and I hope you at least stay as a player and remain part of the community. I hope your projects continue.

Speaking of projects, what will become now of the sound you were upgrading for the game? I really like what I have seen so far!

  10. You will be missed Johan, one of my things about the forum were your news updates...

I wish you goodluck wherever it is that you go from here.

Thanks for your time here, and for all you have done for this community.

    Bye :(

And thank you necroe, you are a good fm and I appreciated all your work.

  11. Oh no this is a sad sad day the work you have done to bring the community and the developers together has been such a great thing for the game i just hope they continue with it.

Good luck with your new endeavors in life..you will be missed.   :(

Thanks Kegan, keep on building your majestic and fabulous deeds ;) You makin wurm look good man! hehehe

  12. I hope that is something that one day changes as you brought for a lot of us, a high point of each week and a closer feeling of "connectiveness" with the dev team. That someone existed who heard us and listened to us and kept us informed. That was something very important to is, something that we needed, and you are going to be missed most fiercely.

Thanks Brash, I have appreciated your feedback during these years.

I will be missing the Wurmians as well ;)

  13. OOOO that was a wild roller coaster.  I was sent upwards by the new eye candy of walls and the permission systems to come are great improvements to control of deeds.  Then the floor dropped out.  I know I speak for many when I say we really enjoy these update posts and all the goodies that are inside them.  Not to mention your crafty humorous style of writing them up for our amusement.   The anticipation was like that of charlie from willy wonka looking for the golden ticket, or...waiting for the next episode of Game of Thrones to see who'd be lopped off.  You will be missed in a big way!   I believe you did alot for public face of wurm.  I'm bereft of other words to say and must go off to my cave and pout.

Naaw, im sorry to put you through that Bloodscythe ;) But thank you for all the kind words.

  14. When I left Wurm for a year I was still watching Wurm via these weekly newsletters! It's a really good way of keeping people posted with what's going on in the development world.

Most game devs are reactive whereas Wurms developers seems to be proactive.

Thanks for the newsletters and hope they continue them for when I disappear back in to the real world again and don't have the time to commit to Wurm.

Where are you going RedBaron? a new gaming company - Are you allowed to say ?? :P

Thanks, but my next location is yet a secret kept by ninjas.

I might pop back here later and tell you guys what is up hehe.

  15. Looking forward to bridges and the new walls. The new permission systems looks great.

All the best in whatever you do Johan! You shall be sorely missed.

Your newsletters were the main thing that brought me back to Wurm after a few months hiatus!

Since I've seen no one else say it thus far, you are probably the best public facing and personable asset Wurm has, and I can't even imagine what the state of the updates is going to look like without you.

    All the best, and god(s)speed.

Thanks allot Belrindor, gonna get me all emotional with this kinda talk haha.

  16. So sorry to hear you are leaving RB.  I know the weekly updates will continue as you say, but I am going to sorely miss YOUR weekly updates.  It was just a great joy to read with anticipation both the progress of Wurm's development and the whit you showed in communicating them.

Best wishes on your future endeavors!
