  1. Same thing I noticed when I played Minecraft in multiplayer. You really just can't expect people to play legit, especially with X-Ray hacks.
  2. Yea, I was wondering how it bugs out though, or what value I could look at that relates to the tile that I'm mining when I examine the tile with my GM toon. Or you know... the issue could be fixed so that I can actually open a tunnel after upping the Minimum Mining Hit's Required setting? Or the effects of the setting could be better documented? Just a thought. At least if I say something the issue becomes known. Edit: Also, that's weird. Did somebody move this to Questions and Confusions? I thought I posted this in Server Issues.
  3. Hi there, I recently set up a server for myself to play on and I wanted to increase the amount of rock and mining skill that I could gain from rock tiles. So I set the Minimum Mining Hits Required server tweak to 200. When I tried tunneling down, I had tunneled down over 1,250 times and generated over 261 rock shards in the process, and I still wasn't getting the "You will soon create an entrance." message at all. I just kept mining and getting rock shards. I didn't receive any error messages of any kind either. When I set the Minimum Mining Hits Required value back to 51, I was able to open the tunnel in 60 hits and I only generated 9 rock shards in the process. (I started again from scratch and mined a different tunnel since I didn't think it would be a fair test if I just adjusted the value and started the same potentially softened up tile again so...) Is there some piece of documentation that I'm missing involving the Minimum Mining Hits Required setting? Is there a value or a counter that is associated with the tile that I'm tunneling down into that I can check to see how many more hits I need to open a tunnel with my GM toon? So that way I can see if that counter is actually going down when I mine. Does this setting just break after a certain point?
  4. Well if we honestly beleive that deeds are so "redicolously" cheap (I don't honestly beleive that), why not allow players to be able to use 2 of them at once. 1 Deed could be a village deed that allows multiple people to live there, and 1 the secondary deed could be just a smaller, single person deed. Perhaps limited to 1/4 of the size of the original deed. Basically it would allow people to be apart of a village, and hold a small peice of land for their own uses as well. If we honestly don't really want to abandon the concept of "deed it or lose it" then this is possibly your best bet.
  5. Well technically breaking up roads that arn't on deeded property isn't griefing anymore, so we can close this thread now. </smartass comment.>
  6. I've missed 5 effing sleep bonuses!?!
  7. Horray... Solve the problem by redefining it. It's not griefing! It's just practicing your combat skills on another persons property and animals because it's only on the perimiter they pay for. : Yea real faith in wurm here guys.
  8. Now I'm going to sound kind of like a jackasss for sayin this but anything you really want to keep should be on the protected portion of the deed. Expect farm animals to be vunerable to the elements and undesirables otherwise. Farm animals (or any animal kept in captivity in this case) did not live very long being kept outside in an open field day and night with no supervision or protection from the elements. Just saying... Perhaps you should make a spot on your deed a breeding pair of animals or your favorite horse on deed so the only thing you risk permanently losing to these jerk offs is crop and nothing more. Although I'm glad to see you came public with this because knowing who goes around bashing fences is valuable information.
  9. Easy solution, model the rack and each part of each type of armour separately, then just render the models that you require for that individual rack. Or when the dummy has armor on it it just looks the same no matter what armor is actually in its inventory. Then there are just two looks, empty, and armored. Well, it would be nice if it would alternate between cloth armour and leather/chain/plate armour. So you have armour for general activity around the deed or just out traveling without wanting to hunt, and then you have armour for combat.
  10. The only one i think needs a price decrease is the transmutation rod, should be 50s, the rest are fine and people are buying them, at least on wild. With the sped up lump and arrow decay the magic chests are worth every cent, although i agree you should be able to move them around. Thats 99 quality ore your talking about.
  11. Sounds like half of all the people I help at my workplace.
  12. dont think theyve ever played this game This is one of those rare times will I'll just say +1.
  13. Yea? Touch shiz. Golden Valley is what new people see, and therefor the review is probably more honest then what would have been expected should Rolf or a game master intervened heavily. Although I think they may have done so a little bit.
  14. People can remove the lock once they have their key and place their own lock on there, hence fence bashing is neccisary.
  15. It may simply be worth getting a deed and building your own area, and then inviting people to join you if you like. Keep in mind that it costs 10 silver to get a starting deed, and then potentially more silver to make it bigger to your specifications. And then 10% of what you put down (with a minimum of 1 silver per month) has to be dumped into upkeep per month to keep the deed going. It's also 2 silver to hire a heavy guard, and 1 silver extra in upkeep a month. Keep a few months in advanced so that you can avoid decay on your buildings on deed. So it is an additional cost, but if you want to have a homestead of your own, or manor, then it's worth it.
