  1. Normaly it should work in the opposite direction: When you fight a weakling you have more options then when you fight a champ creature. Whern you fight a champ troll you lose nearly all abilitys to aim. Just left and right is possible with 70 fs.
  2. I'Am using a 8400 gs (512MB Version) with a cooling block. At full throttle it produce 63 ° C: heat on the GPU. Pretty cool..... My old 7600 gs with fan allways was at 70 ° while wurming. Amount of frames is of course higher with the 8000 series card but without a fan the pc is silent i only hear the harddrive.
  3. Today i moved to one of my merchants and added and removed stuff. But his counter still is at 7 days....... No counter reset anymore ?

  5. Someone of you know Runescape ? They have thge huge markethall for trade between all the peoples and servers of the game that easiely allow every player to buy and sell stuff up to 6 different trades active (for prem users) at the same time.
  6. I would say Pushing/PUlling people allways was/is exploitable i also would disable that feature until it is fixed or removed competely.(noone realy need that it is useless)
  7. I started anew account this week so iwas a few hours on GV and also made a fight there .vs a angry deer and it was typical noob + noob gear = vs weak animal. Afterwards i gone to freedom and fought more deers and still had seen a nearby result. So i say no there is no differents in the difficulty of Noob vs. weak critters fights.
  8. I would say the wiki need a choosen team .Lets say from players that play for 1+ year and not editable for everyone. To much there is written and edited by people that maybe play for 4 month and then quit.Come back later with a huge inactivity afterwards and start to edit pages . Of course wurm have changed by the time so his/her wurmknowledge is outdated. It also contains to much rumours and half known facts and guesses, "third hand" informations (you heard from a friend that have a wurm friend that is good at smihting that said that birch burn longer in forges.To give an exemple).
  9. When i started wurm (Oct. 2006) we had crashes and rollbacks 2-3 times a week.I remeber to often login with 5 hours sleep bonus and my job of the past hours was undone. Well wurms combat system really is strange. It is (basically): Go to the enemy click attack .Make some nice combat dance and walk away as winner or die.Nothing especially you can do while fighitng...Its like watching a fight on tv. I would like to have more control in the fight but please no "Wurm Tekken". Alot of changes where made ..We got new items new feature and alot of new skills some better graphics and a more or less stable (lol) client. ALot of of that features where made to make the Longtime comunity happy because there was new stuff to learn and more skills to grind.On the other hand that rised the difficulty to start with wurm.Much more to learn now how to play wurm. I personally like games that are made pure and simple and are as complex as the user play it. Pure and simple = NO need to read 20-30 pages just to create a stool.That isn'z so hard to make in wurm.THe wiki just need some "facelifting" i had seen plenty paged with much to much text.That just scare the newbies away. AN other problem wurm have is to much accounts that are used by multiple persons and account selling. When you allow account sharing you get alot of accounts that never die.An account should go inactive when the owner quit/make a break.So the newcomers must make new accounts .That makes it alot easier to balance the game.
  10. Like saltet/smoked ham. And sea/ship biscuits. All this fill you up but of course with bad effects to your nutrition. How about dryed fruits ? I remeber from history lessons that they used that alot on the ships at the end of the middle ages to fight the Scurvy.
  11. Emh .....>You guys ever tryed to bash a tall stone wall of suberb ql with a maul ? 4-5 People need 40 min to bash that. In 40 min you have more then enough time to altert your town mates. And 1-2 defenders are enough (one make shards the other the bricks then repair) so you can't bring it down to 100 damage. With catapults it is more easy but even then you need supprters that mine and make the cata and transport the ammo .So you also have enough time to altert the guys. Noone attack a defended town.... So ones you bring some people online to defend the attackers mostly retreat.
  12. I agree with conditions : You must be able to ban and make invite only channels that allow to control who is listening.
  13. Iagree to this . This'll solve some problems but also create new ones. Lets think about the wildserver and boast stealing. Without the write you can't acess them.So the ex-Owner still can harm the new boat owner with new bad settings for him.

  15. I don't think that java will be able to produce graphics like on your picture within the next 5-7 years. Java use to much recources to get a playable game on up to date hardware.
  16. Multi-Floor houses Hmmh i still have no idea what they are good for.We have 16.7 square million of tiles .That is enough space. Goblin 'Villages Intresting idea.At least we can make war then without to harm rl people. Separate rooms on houses That make sence.Even when this will make raids more difficult. Bridges We got boats some time ago.Brides are the next logical step afterwards.
  17. Cloth Armour is the weakest protection you can get in wurm. When you wear that on the battlefield you wil down quickly . For the daily use on the carebear server it surly is good enough.

  19. Its pure and simple. People login to wurm to share their freetime in a game with other people to have some fun. With that blitzbasic school project Stranded II in mind we can see that a game don't need uber mega 5D Graphics with 16.7 ² Millions of Polygons or 5000 sound channels or 8000 frames a second.
  20. Same with "party fixer" kingdom cook title. It gives absolutly no favours. Eir had it for long and never had seen an effect from it. So i got it temporary to check the effect with an account with <20 hfc. Absolutly no effect eighter.I still get the same result as without that title.

    Since ~Thurday i noticed alot more skilldecay. Everyday i login now i see skill xyz has decreaed by 0.03 to 1337. That makes me feel that i waste my time .
  22. Mycelium should turn to normal gras if you look at it from the distance so the macelium will not allways uncover our influence. KIngdom titles bonuses shouldn't be stackable with MAgranon Fighting bonus. 75 % chance to not lose your gear as Mag player (number is from the wiki) and it even is stackable with ressurections stones so that user has 87.5 %. Smite enchant.......well ya we can cast drain health so you lose maybe 10 health ...Smite produce a 60 damage wound. That cost you 70 % from your health bar. With that severe wound you can't do aynthing. JK have much more players but that isn't new it is just the longtime effect from the start .Becuase it wasn't possible to choose an other kingdom then jk at the start of gold2. The newbies this days will not join hots and i also agree that hots isn't the right place for newcomers becuase of the extreme dangerous life they need a thick skin to enjoy it. With 8.3 k Monsters (and i think guards also count as monsters in wurm) it is hard to gain fs for newbies. We have nearly no economy .It is hard to support deeds when the only public traders are drained 99 % of their time. Hots still can't cover all the jobs we need to have a working kingdom.
  23. Currently with a possible rollback in 2 days there is no need to produce or imp or raid becuase a rollback will remove everything you've done since fryday with some bad luck even a rollback to thursday. So basically it is (probably) wasted time to play.

I would make zombies that they exist until they get killed .To nerf them alittle they should get wounds if the daylight hit them until they die or the "owner" store it in a cave or a non windowed house. The strength should be simimlar to the human you killed to make it more funny when you kill a good jk/MR/Hots Player and raise him. They should have the same strength but unlimited stamina but less body control and nearly no mind body stats. I would set their combat skills similar to the person/monster you killed. With their low mind they should learn very very slow. Zombies can't swim if read books about so they also shouldn't swim in wurm. Maybe a feature to transport them with mounts would work or maybe boats.
  25. It surly would help to have a plan for the future of the project wurm. I mean not to be holded in the grip of wurms everyday *work* like whining noobs here in forum or some people from a big kingdom crying for new features because they're bored. Ok some of the problems are selfmade like that add of new features without to debug the old . Other problems can't be fixed as long as wurm is written in java.Like that fps drops even on high end computers. I think a way out of this can be to avoid the add of beta features. That requires to have a testteam for feedback so he can debug without to use us as his testers. On the other hand there is and will never be a game without bugs. I never played a game that long as i do with wurm. Close to 3 years now. With gold 1 in mind and the frequent server crashes close to its end (nearly everyday) I must say that rolf made the serverprogramming alot better with gold2.The main key to more stability surly is that he add maintaince downtime with gold2 and frequent backups. The client itself isn't that good like the gold1 one was.It had a much better performance then the current one. I would say it was more Wurm1.0 then we have atm. For the future of an mmo it is imporant that the accounts go inactive with their owners.So newcomers must make new accounts and the game itself is crowled with accounts with lower skills.That makes the balancing alot more easy for the programmer.Elseway Rolf must balance accounts that have 2 years and more skill advantage. So no more account sharing.That system works as long as the game attract more people then it lose. To make the game intresting for the longtime players he nerfed wurm and add alot of new features. The bad siedeffect is that it also rise the difficulty to start with wurm for newcomers.Especially if they don't have english as native. To hurt the longtime players: An MMO must be made that the START is intresting and easy to understand so new peoples come to the game and can understand its basic without to read 100 wiki sides. I heard the average lifetime of an player in an MMO is half a year. Wurm need Non-grind features. Wurm has no future with to much grinding becuase wurm have no working animations so nothing happens on screen but some text to read what is pretty stupid.
