  1. It's to prevent macro, iirc.

Randomizing the inventory would not prevent much macroing. Color/text/pattern reading bots, which are one of the most primitive, would be able to get around a randomized inventory incredibly easily. Even then the user could just set his inventory back up the way he had it in a few minutes...

  2. I would like to see job-based clothing like an apron and chef's hat for cooks, overalls and a straw hat for farmers, leather apron for smiths, etc. Give players some diversity. Even on PVP server they can't be comfortable wandering about in armour all the time.

Armour makes me feel safe, it's like a body-castle.

  3. Many of the descriptions of the social aspect are the exact opposite of what I, and my entire group of friends have experienced. Maybe we were just lucky, but I think this community is better than most give it credit for.

We joined on Epic, Serenity, and every question we asked was answered, whenever we entered local and found someone, they asked who we were, were friendly, and often gave us supplies/tools for the road. When we lost our home and traveled to King's Landing(a respected and large Deed) they gave us a temporary place to stay, village permissions, and plenty of supplies to skill up with so we could fend for ourselves when we parted ways. When we set out again, we were helped by many people along the way, settled down in our own place, then purchased a Deed very close to spawn. Our Deed was never griefed, our neighbors were great, and even after quitting for two years and coming back recently we were able to quickly find a place in the game.

It might be different on other servers, but my community experience in this game has been better than any other game I've played to date. This game has a whole slew of problems, but I don't think it's fair to expect perfection from a community that I think is the closest I've seen to date. My 2c.

  4. Now what? I am a follower of Magranon, and my friend is a follower of Vynora. We're planning on both become priests on our respective alt accounts. We both play on Epic, and are looking to make sure we don't gimp ourselves by missing something crucial we should have done/leveled before we turn priest. Any tips?

  5. To all those who are and will be naysaying and "its ur fault"'ing the OP.. just remember this:

If your RL house gets robbed, it's your fault for not having bought bulletproof windows and doors.  You made it too easy for the thief to come in.  So if you call the cops, you're hypocrites =)

And I know you'll be calling the cops and the mayor and trying to find out how to get the president's phone number so you can call and demand he take action.

This is more comparable to him leaving his lawnmower in the front yard over the weekend in a neighborhood known for theft than an actual burglary.

  6. $9?! Maybe you're talking about Diablo I or Diablo II..

    Joy of preordering.

Nope. They had them mixed in one of those big mesh bins, all $9.99. That could be a mistake though, Walmart is pretty bad around here when it comes to organization. I'd give you my Diablo 3 account if I could, but it's linked to all of my other Blizzard games.

  7. This game looks awesome, and really promising.

I want this.... But I spent all my spending cash on the steam summer sale... WHYYYYYYYYYY WORLD WHYYYYYYY

Same situation... having fun with the games I do have though.

  8. I play a bit almost every day, and the downtime has barely affected me. It's been pretty damn smooth, and 5 hours of free sleep bonus more than makes up for the hour or so I had to do something else. I can tell you this, it's a lot more stable than the WoW server I played on.

  9. If you got money to throw

    Crossfire

    Combat Arms

    Operation 7

    Blacklight Retribution

    Arctic combat

    AvA

f2p shooter games that will suck all the money you have, but still fun.

get rid of your agression in them :)

[Every f2p shooter game sucks, and they are very very bugged, but those are on top of my list after trying Every free shooter there is.]

Planetside 2 is pretty good. I played that for a few weeks, and only stopped playing it since I found Wurm. As far as FPS games are concerned, the only decent one that has come out recently is CSGO. BF3 was a letdown, and BF4 isn't out yet, and looks to be BF3.5 anyway. ArmA 3 looks really promising, but, isn't out yet either.

Oh, if you haven't played Dark Souls, you should get that. It's one of the best games I have ever played, period. It's a perfect mix of difficulty and repetition, so you don't feel like you're grinding, but the game still takes quite a bit of effort. The only problem with the game is that the port is pretty bad, so you'll need a controller and some 3rd party software to play it properly on PC. It only takes about 10 minutes to set up, but the game will last you 150+ hours. You don't have to be connected to the internet to play it, but if you want to co-op or PvP, internet is required. Otherwise it's hop-in, hop-out, with no penalty for single player.

  10. Then you're going too grandiose, keep the deed smaller and don't hire templars, a deed can last 6 months on just the form alone.

    I have a deed I rarely visit.

A few little low QL items that were only collecting dust anyway have vanished, and I have to jog around repairing things (note walls and buildings are fine) when I do pop by once every 3 to 4 months, but it doesn't take long.

That's great and all, but I'm on Epic, and I'm very lucky to have friends on this server who can offer me a bulk job. Without it, I'd probably not be able to afford my Deed at all. I can pay for the upkeep, but if I dared to take a break for a couple weeks, I'd have to disband it. If you have any suggestions for actually getting silver with low skills, without playing 15 hours a day, then by all means, go ahead and suggest away.

  11. I find what he's saying pretty accurate. I like the game, but it's next to impossible to upkeep a deed with few people in your first month. Knowledge isn't really the problem, it's lack of funds. If you even try to take a break, you likely will end up losing your Deed to decay.

That's not really a downside to the game, it's just a feature.

  12. Well, you could have a toggle option for the debris: "Collect Debris" and "Drop Debris". Collect debris would act as debris normally do (wood scrap) and you're basically not affected. Drop Debris would let you stand on a pile and cut planks and such, without having to combine and drop all the wood scrap. This would, in a effect, save you time.

I wouldn't want this over bigger game mechanics, but it would be a nice touch.

  13. We hunt and children are well aware of animals and the value of life....however, when we hunt there is no such spatter continually spewing. We are not also on pvp for similar as well as other reasons.

I guarantee there will be spatter if you try to kill a deer with a greatsword.

  14. +1 With younger children who would like to play I will not allow them to do so with the spatter unless I can turn it off on their clients...

So, killing is all right, as long as there is no blood? I'm all for the idea, but I don't understand this logic. After all of the animations and graphics are done with for the time-being, then they should go back through and input all of the cosmetic options.

-1 for now, because of dev time going to useless options. Implement small features later, core mechanics are more important.

  15. So, is there nothing that can be done about it? Game is unplayable right now. No idea what happend, yesterday I had normal 50 fps, now I'm at 10.

Welcome to my world. I was talking to my friend about how "I always get 60FPS because this is Wurm Online," and now I'm down to 10-20 FPS, with huge spikes, even though I turned most of my settings from high to low/off. I'm sorry guys, I did this; I tempted fate.
