  1. I understand that when I sleep in a bed, I gain Sb and wake there when I log in again. What happens when I just "Quit" somewhere? Am I vulnerable? The Wurm world continues without me, so there may be dangers depending on where I "Quit", right? What happens when the server boots me, or I lose connection? Do I appear exactly where I was when I log back on? If I was swimming and left the game, or lost the connection to the server, would I drown? Would I log in and find myself at a newb spawn (or my village), and have to retrieve my body? Silly questions most likely.
  2. From their website: Add premium game time to your account. 1 month currently costs 8 Euro. 1 month premium (ingame) costs 10 silver coins (value 16 Euro). So which is it? Is it 8 Euro a month or 16 euro? Maybe I am reading it weird or something, but it seems as there are 2 prices for one month of play.
  3. It's always nice to meet the new neighbours.
  4. Maybe it's just me, but after the last update, menus take a very long time to open or refresh, Sometimes 10 seconds or more. Doors aften take 10 seconds to open. My Internet speeds are high at over 5Mbps, so I think I can rule speeds out. My system is unchanged as well. Hmmmm. Anyone else having this issues?
  5. I am a newbie. How often does this sort of thing happen?
  6. How long does that take? Knowing when to buy the deed seems like a guessing game. This such a nice place. I would love to have it.
  7. I am considering my first settlement. Near me is a rather large settlement that disbanded. It is WAY too big for me. If I place a token for a small settlement in the center, what happens to the existing structures? I can't seem to locate this info on the wiki. Do the buildings and structures just fade/decay? Do I simpy destroy what I don't want as long as it is within my settlement boudaries? Sorry for teh newb questions. Thanks.
  8. New player, considering a settlement. Tight budget. Playing on Release. You know how it is for many newbs like me. I want a settlement, but of course am very cautious. 1. Will I pick the wrong area? 2. How small is too small for a one guy to get running before others join? 3. Are some layouts simply more affective for survival than others? 4. Templar? 5. What should a first time, future settlement owner avoid? 5.5 What should a first time, future settlement owner look for? 6. Where are the threads with all the great setlements? Pics? 7. Is the online settlement tool (http://wurmtools.com/calculators/deed) really accurate regarding costs? Sorry for all the silly newb questions. I just feel awkward taking the settlement plunge without getting some advice.
  9. I really like Wurm. I really get into it. I try to play in a realistic manner. I wil perform tasks that make sense to me, and not make 50 gulasch and pour them on the floor just to grind a skill. That would take me away from the real sense and feel of the game. But to each their own, right? It is not my place to look down on grinders. Everyone plays their own way. I just like to keep it real. That said, walking through a forge just breaks the immersion for me. While I am unable as a newer player to perform amazing feats that would protect my butt in critter combat, or outswim a bear, I can easily plough through many objects in game. Lamp post, storage, arch supporting structure, bell cots, fsb's, bsb's, none of these are an obstacle as I can seemingly pass through them with my magical ability. Of course it is not just me posessing this amazing power, as even horsse have the incredible power to merge bodies. Is the collsion stuff in Wurm that difficult to fix? I am not a coder, so perhaps I just don't get it.
  10. ATI user here. My frame rates dropped, but they are still at a comfortable level of play. It seems smoother though, if that makes any sense. I like teh look, including the lighting, as it seems more atmospheric to me. The interface changes don't bother me at all. Some people complaints (not just this thread) are a bit much. NOt having some of teh GUI items on by default is not a game breaker. Maybe they thought that not having everyting on all at once was pleasant, and gave user a choice about what they wanted. Some things however, are worrisome. This message for instance: Avoid using the new building expansion feature until a fix is implemented. DO NOT add plans or expansions to structures you do not own or you will be banned. That might have been something that couldn't have been tested for release.
  11. Me again. So "Core" was the default. I think things look a little better, but my FPS is defintely lower. I will try and lower my resolution and see what happens. I am still curious what "Extension" is supposed to do.
  12. The new update recommends enabling VBO Core and GLSL Core in th eCompatibility settings. I have a question, does that mean I select "Core" or "Extension"? "Core" was selected by default. Am I to select "Extension"?
  13. My stamina bar normally works perfectly. Today however, the stamina bar forze occasinally while dredging from a rowboat. Two soutions worked for me: Disembark from the rowboat -This has the immediate affect of having the stamina bar resume. Raise the anchor -This has the immediate affect of having the stamina bar resume. Please note that I have no stamina bar troubles elsewhere in the and can easily queue actions otherwise. I searched a little here and found similar references to my problem, but the post were rather old (years).
