  1. unpopular opinion, but i bet the net result of this thing is more people discovering the game. The people that find it and say "omg yeah that game sux" wouldn't have played it anyway. This doesn't justify it at all though. Just a bit of "bad press is good press" sorta thing.

  6. Please just remove mounting while in combat. It's good all around fix. There were lots of times the first couple weeks of defiance(and likely still are) when skilled players came to harass groups of newbs easily with horse, and this would be far less doable if they couldn't just yeet back onto a horse while being swarmed. Just one example to add onto the current mount hopping abuse. Getting off your mount in combat or knocked off your mount is risky, should be risky, and should have consequences. Remove mounting while in combat.

  8. Instead of heading to Cadence, come to Defiance All three kingdoms are welcoming new and old players alike. As tough and gruff as some vet players may seem, we all know the more players we have that understand the game, the more fun we all have in the end. Dive into Defiance! You'll find active villages to join with people who play way too much enough that you'll never have to be alone in game. And there is more wilderness on Defiance because of the actual risk of setting out on your own. Also, dying in PvP is actually less painful than PvE, as you only lose a teeny bit of fight skill instead of all sorts of hard earned crafting skills. See you there!

Or, don't let it go and continue posting this same thread every week It sucks, sure. But at some point you gotta choose to accept the bigger picture, or just step away. Ruminating won't fix a thing.   11. Merging PvE is fine, but you HAVE to 100% detach Defiance from PvE. all stats and items must be separate. You will destroy PvP if you connect Defiance to anything else. It's already seeing loads of abuses of the PvP Portals with people hopping back and forth for stuff and exploits (like 5 hours of free sleep bonus for vynora followers, and other exploits/"features") Honestly, please do connect all the PvE servers, just disconnect Defiance 100%: Skills and Items (sure keep the portals but make the character 100% separate on both servers). The only thing that might get messed up by merging north and south PvE is the "economy" which is not a leading reason why 99% of people play this game anyway, so very few players will be negatively affected. Only a vocal minority who reply to forum posts like this. XD Anyway, the new map is fine. Devs did the math. The rest is conjecture/opinions.
  12. Yeah, the inside area's are quite good, especially for the PvE style of coastal deeds. But the roundedness on the edges is a bit off putting. Cut up the edges a bit with some (more) islands. Not just the one circular island off by itself haha. But besides the strange App icon rounded edges, this does look like a great map.
  13. If you're playing Wurm for its economy you're in it for the wrong reasons anyway. Not really the other 98% of the playerbase's problem if a fake 'economy' isn't playing nicely with your expectations. Best suggestion is to just play the game or don't. It's not complicated.

  15. Painful words atm but: Multiple accounts should never be rewarded. More money to be made by more actual players not few elites with multiple accounts. Why else? Many reasons that boil down to just good game design. But if you need a clearer reason just look at all the salt every time an exploit is caught. Too bad forums don't warrant learning and discussion. Just egos and Dumpster + Fire.
  16. idk why people who make a ###### ton of accounts assume the game will work in their favor. the majority of players play one account, so the game will always be designed around that. Common sense really. no... nevermind. it makes sense. me pay money, me deserve the world.

  18. Would be nice for a clear statement on whether or not Wurm Devs/GMs can easily tell who exploited. Because please roll back the exploiters. Ya'll ban people for simple afk macros who "get ahead" unfairly. Please be harsher on exploiters.
  19. Not sure I 100% agree on 24/7... but... I've a deed damn near center of the map and a 6 hour window feels very over powered.
  20. Seems like this is based on your own desire to run multiple accounts. We have a guy running a main and a priest alt pretty successfully. And others run even more accounts. So, I think the answer is yes it is possible.

  22. Now is a good time to swing over to Defiance. Two weeks in and each kingdom has multiple deeds planted and defenses up(i.e. you won't get roflstomped). Lots of villages are recruiting new players and old players alike. Even if you don't wish to engage in combat, every village needs dedicated crafters. There are lots of veteran "PvP" players who have never really engaged in PvP combat but instead support their village in other ways. And of course if you are interested in PvP, good quality armor and weapons are starting to make their way to the front lines. Things are a bit different on a PvP server. Going off solo is usually not worth the risk. There is power in numbers. Vet players on all sides enjoy teaching newer players so don't be afraid to ask for help in kingdom chat. Even if you're just itching for an active and dedicated group to play with and/or learn from, Defiance is your best bet to find your tribe. All three kingdoms will welcome you with open arms right now. And I'd personally recommend any of the three. It seems at the moment HotS is the largest/most powerful, followed closely by MR, with JK in a bit of an underdog status. If you decide to come over, all your skills will transfer except for fighting. And you will only have your noob tools. But, as mentioned before there are many villages who will happily outfit you with whatever you need. Come and PvP! (Or chillax in a mine while your mates do all the work, that's honestly fine too!) Edit: Step-by-step... Find a PvP Portal, step through, pick your kingdom. Once you land, just pop into kingdom chat and say hello! Ask for help finding a deed to join.
  23. All the wonderful graphics updates over the years and rain still remains in a sad state of clear skies and spittle. It wouldn't take much to make rain feel more like.. well... rain. Thicker clouds, or just straight overcast. We shouldn't be able to see stars during a rain shower. It's quite unimmersive to see rain drops and a clear sky. Ramp up the fog a bit. Trick us into thinking there's more rain off in the distance. More rain drops. Right now we have to squint to accidentally notice that it's raining. Bigger drops? More drops? Whatever, but something's gotta change. Bonus: specular shininess on the ground. This actually sounds like extra work outside of existing features of the engine. But it would be cool to make things look wet. There's much more important work to do than improve rain. But better rain seems like low hanging fruit.
