  1. The reason that was visible so quickly was because the spawns were more localized as noted in the previous notes (creatures respawned first in areas that had less creatures). Right now it's again more spread around the server as it always was so the results will be spread out too.
  2. With any creature spawning changes it's important to know that the changes will not be immediately noticeable, since the spawning only happens until the max creature cap is hit, and so only once creatures are killed off around the server. Safe bet would be to wait a couple weeks and see how it looks - it should be as it was before the creature distribution changes, except no longer biased towards northern areas.
  3. That happens when the file is already in use, most likely by another instance of the launcher running in the background. Due to some issues the launcher sometimes stays running as a process, but doesn't show the window - forcing it closed through the Task Manager or restarting your computer should fix that.
  4. I'd appreciate if you would refrain from accusing contracted members of the dev team of abusing exploits to get a bit of dye - it's absurd and really does not lend itself to a civil conversation. A lot can change in a year, and while Retrograde may have been unsure if it's an exploit when talking about it a year ago, we have deemed it one now and fixed it. Exploit fixes often do not end up in patch notes, due to their sensitive nature, but we always look at it case by case and we've added it as a patch note now as we've not expected this to be such a widespread issue - it's our fault for not fixing this earlier, but we'll always act on obvious exploits that pop up, no matter how long they have been a thing in the game. There will not be prior announcements of exploit fixes either, for reasons I think everyone can understand.
  5. Retrograde referred to the quote from the edit being correct - Cadence will be connected to Harmony and Melody from the start.
  6. We've identified the issue this weekend and a fix for it will be coming soon.
  7. I outlined our goal with releasing this new server earlier in this thread. I'm not sure why it's assumed to be the alternative to fixing lag - we have been including lag fixes in almost every update since the release, the larger fixes to that ending up in patch notes too, and we're noticing a large reduction in server lag even with 950 players online on Harmony today. We'll continue to work on that and you should see more improvements on that end shortly, but our intention with releasing the new servers isn't to spread the population to avoid lag - it's just to give people room to play how they want to.
  8. While I agree in general that too many servers is a detrimental thing, we have looked at the deed maps of Harmony and Melody and found the only unclaimed land on Harmony is some areas deeper inland, and Melody has close to none at all, other than in certain undesired biomes. This combined with the fact that we continue to have a lot of new players entering the game, and our further plans for promotion in the near future, we needed a server in the Northern Freedom Isles cluster that will actually be able to handle those players, instead of making everyone frustrated on not being able to find free land. We'll consider ways to make the Southern Freedom Isles cluster more appealing to the new players, but currently it's a bit of a tough sell, as understandably the new player experience is much more attractive to most players on the new servers.
  9. The new veins won't be appearing in the areas that have already been mined out.
  10. Should be fixed now if you just restart the game.
  11. This was not an intentional change, and apparently wasn't even due to the other favor changes. It's a side effect to this: Before today's update, after a server has had a period of lag, it unintentionally did some catch-up runs causing things like sleep bonus running too fast (fixed in an update before this one), creatures running too fast, animals being born too fast and some other things - it was very gamebreaking, so we had removed that catch-up polling. It'd be helpful if you could verify those test results took place on the more laggy servers (so probably only the new ones, mostly Harmony), but I believe it's exclusive to those. We're working on a solution which will either just bring the regular favor regen rate back to how it was before this change, or make the regen rates fully independent of server lag so it would be consistent at all times.
  12. Those gifts were not intended and were not announced, or mentioned anywhere in the release notes. We have just found out the cause for the erronous giveaway of the gift packs, as it was a feature from the past that got accidentally enabled, and we just corrected it quickly without an update. This affected a very small portion of the playerbase. This is not related to the tutorial at all, and never depended on whether you used the old client or the new UI. There were (and are) no rewards for completing the tutorial at any point since the new tutorial was added during the launch on July 24th.
  13. Should be fixed with the update today, let us know if it's still happening.
  14. Will be fixed soon, at the moment the option fails to save in certain cases.
  15. It was not intended, but we are not removing those referrals from the current accounts. Getting referrals for regular packages happened both on Steam and in our own store, so there wasn't such an inconsistency there.
  16. Referrals that have been given but not yet redeemed will still function until announced otherwise.
  17. CAs do not report bugs for other players and are not required to keep up with all the bugs and workarounds to them. The best way of having a bug acknowledged and fixed is to report it on these forums.
  18. Can you post your console.name.log file from the main Wurm directory? That should have your settings in them, which I think are vital to reproducing (and then fixing) the issue.
  19. That means a Wurm launcher process is still running somewhere in the background. Try using the Task Manager (Details tab) to force shutdown any leftover WurmLauncher processes, or restart your PC, that'll make it work.
  20. We're looking into more optimizations. Some more issues were fixed and are waiting for the next server restart, and others were identified but we still need to figure out the solutions for those, and test it well before putting it live. In any way, safe to expect that it'll still improve soon.
  21. This will be fixed soon.
  22. This should be fixed as of a client update a second ago, please try again.
  23. Your issue seems to be exactly the same as the one we've had reported as fixed right after that hotfix. Can you double-check that you have in fact downloaded the WurmSetup installator, ran it and only then launched the game? That has fixed it for other users.
  24. We just released another fix for the client issues. Make sure you reinstall the launcher itself and try again please.
