  1. Congratulations to Rolf, the Developers, Wurm Staff and Volunteers that have made all this possible! Although I missed the start by a few years the rest of the journey has been most enjoyable to participate within, for without the above people there would have been no in to be. Uh huh! =Ayes=
  2. (basically *agrees* with Killroth as I was making this post while he did the one above) Probably the PvE players contribute a lot to this situation by purchasing these PMK and other items from Chaos HoTAs. Some years back Chaos was isolated from the Freedom Isles PvE servers just like Epic has always been. When Chaos was joined into the Freedom server cluster due to some "reasons" then the door was opened for the Chaos pvp players to profit from this arrangement. Then Chaos was given items that could only be acquired and/or produced there. Now this is attempted to be justified by the higher costs of playing the pvp side of the game. To allow any of these types of items to be produced on the Freedom PvE servers will create an equal competitive environment which will then reduce Chaos pvp player profits from "playing" the game. Nope, not gonna happen. This one sided financially beneficial system will continue to be protected by them while the majority PvE side of the game will suffer for the lack of the same opportunity. Yet the PvE players can effectively resist this situation by simply not purchasing these items. Seems that's not gonna happen either... =Ayes=
  3. Pretty dum-dum to tell me that PoK protects Fighting skills loss too and label it as "wacky antics". Then when I correct your mistake with facts you don't admit you were wrong and go off on this silly imagined tangent. Better to just zip it up while you are only this far into the pit. =Ayes=
  4. Trolls can bash down walls on deed if they feel they are "trapped" under certain circumstances. As they "bump" into other walls they will damage them too. So if Trolls can enter your deed I would put the blame on them for this and try to find a way to keep them out. Sometimes if a steep hillside ledge is on your perimeter with an on-deed wall against it they can "fall" over this onto your deed and bash other walls (house walls too) in a blundering attempt to escape from it. Once on Independence I had an open deed with Trolls in the area and they entered an arched passageway, bashed one wall down, damaged a few more on their way just passing through it. Another time a Troll spawned in my mine, exited through the entrance that had no door and bashed some fencing down to "escape" from the deed. This was some years ago after the Devs gave them the ability to bash walls on deed to prevent players from just fencing them in there for fun or whatever purposes. =Ayes=
  5. Hello dum-dum. Also mouse over of the effect states "Fighting Skills". Doh! =Ayes=
  6. Or just have PoK with the "No skill loss" symbol showing but I don't want to loose fighting skills either so.... pass. =Ayes=
  7. Will we loose skills if we die to these things? If we do thanks for this notice as I will be "ready" to log out. =Ayes=
  8. Not a bad suggestion but it would involve adding another riding animal to the game which I wonder if the Devs would want to do. Also this "Travois" should be another separate created object with say a under 20 carpentry skill requirement. Way too much capacity for this item too due to its realistic size capacity. Just make it equal capacity to a large cart and can't be "runed" up. Sort of a poor newbie immigrant's rideable large cart substitute. Lower the "loading" requirement on it to 20.05 Body Strength as well for newbie benefit. =Ayes=
  9. Put this in the proposed new and enhanced Wurm Shop that players must then purchase for RL $$$ and I am all for it. Not on Traders that players can then avoid paying RL cash for which would otherwise be used to improve the game that they have already profited from playing. Suggested price: $5.00 us. =Ayes=
  10. As further interest is being expressed on this topic I will point out something overlooked by all but Drastox early on. That being all these funds collected and distributed to deeds (say on a monthly basis) would then be available for other players to attempt to steal from those deeds. In turn the accumulation of coins being a prime factor of pvp players motivations it would in turn again turn up more players on the various Epic servers in search of these turned up coins with which to line their pockets. The problem here being when you enter into the dimensions of preconceived notions then only the trees are seen rather than the forest in which they are dwelling. Maybe the thought here is that I am referring to turnips but this post is really about u not i, so just adjust that spelling accordingly and you will have your answer!?️‍♂️ =Ayes=
  11. What I can attempt to de-code out of this statement is that a new "hunting" server will be created on which this will occur. If this is correct, which may also include Valrie new/beefedup/interesting creature mechanics, hopefully they will be isolated to this maybe new hunting server and not infect any of the current PvE servers. Basically my response would be is that if this aspect of additions does not effect current PvE gameplay on the current PvE servers and can be avoided by simply not traveling to this "Frontier" then I am fine with it. Since at this time the whole thing is so non-specific and a nebulous mystery I really can't make any conclusive judgement as to what may or may not be happening here. Yeah, what it is ain't exactly clear... =Ayes=
  12. Greetings Asheram, I am sending you a rare 90QL Small Anvil that I would like enchanted with BoTD 85-89 for 80 coppers. I will label the Anvil with the same. Thank you. =Ayes=
  13. destroy_pavement or remove_pavement reinforce
  14. Sometimes when I read those Account for sale Niarja links they seem to have some made up Character names. Is there some good reason to allow players to post these Niarja skill dumps with false names to hide behind? Or am I misunderstanding something here? =Ayes=
  15. Excellent news! I remember someone made a post of concern about this issue and I am sure they will be pleased to read that it will be "Bugfixed". Now I won't need to bother with working up the fighting skill (almost 5.00) on my newest alt of 5 months just to do this. Helpful to other non fighting focused players too of course. =Ayes=
  16. PUBLIC TRADERS

I have been to Haven's Landing quite often with my alt and never come across a Trader there. Seems they decided against placing one for unknown reasons open to speculation. Maybe they didn't want to interfere with the ability for other players to place one on their deed nearby. Although I haven't come across any others in the vicinity either. =Ayes=
  17. I like the thought here but instead it may be best to just code the freshly sown tile so that animals can't graze on it at all. Done! (if it can be done). =Ayes=
  18. Bonfires

A hot idea! But needing to add up to 100 logs to it to finish, can you imagine the time involved? Maybe 50 logs at most and what skill would be used to do this? Also it should be able to burn very large items such as felled trees or could hold 100 logs added to it when opened to burn all those junk logs others leave lying around. Even animal and mob corpses could be added to it for disposal. Burn baby burn! =Ayes=
  19. To those who would not it doesn't concern me as they never will. To dispute the points made with some sort of rational response would be valid and welcomed. To attack the way in which they were broached and the composition of the style in which they were presented has no merit to be used as a justification for refuting them. The day you and others tailor your response style to my liking is the day that I would consider doing the same. Until then you only reinforce my points made by avoiding them with personal attacks as your *Like* minded attachers expose themselves. Not that I expect anything I just stated to change the minds of those who think otherwise. That then just leaves the fun of weaving through the forest of the trees with windy embellishments, though the crows do shriek in protest, shattering the silence of thoughtlessness. =Ayes= Added: I will admit though that both your post I quoted and mine here contribute nothing of worth to the topic at hand.
  20. Hey! No fair copying my phrasing and pretending that you thought to apply it. That's cheating on the test! It's an F for you then. At least Galatyn responded on topic with some creative table turning. I give him a D+ for that effort. A good example for you to emulate as some day you too may pass the test, barely. =Ayes=
  21. Quite the magnificent creation Malena! What will truly be maddening is creating this in WO. Or is this just for WU? This island also reminds me of yours in WO is why I ask if this is just a plan to be built there. =Ayes=
  22. It is blatantly obvious that there are two *sides* of this game and that also a much less significant number play on the pvp side of it. True that many on the pvp side also play some/much of the time on the PvE side of it. Yes too that if the pvp *side* of the game was shut down some of those few who play on that side of the game sometimes, most of the time, somewhere in between, would then quit playing the game. These pvp players are obviously part of the game as it stands now but the issue is does this justify continuing spending any amount of time upon the pvp side of the game disproportionate to the number of players that participate in the pvp side of the game. Or does it justify diminishing the playablity of the PvE side of the game due to pvp codeing restrictions. Or does it justify spending Developer time on pvp that could be put to much more beneficial progress of the disproportionately greater PvE side of the game. At its heart pvp is about destruction both of players and objects created by players. While on the other hand the PvE side of the game is about creation and protection of these creations. There is no way in which these two sides of the game can coexist as is plainly exemplified by their separation. Yet only one side (pvp) seeks to destroy the other while at the same time attempting to cast blame on the other side for their failure to do so. If pvp is to continue to exist to the detriment of the game due to the hostility it creates with the PvE side of the game it must remain separated on its *side*. This creates opposing sides, for how can those bent on destruction exist "peacefully" in some sort of "brotherhood" with those focused upon creation. Look at all the grand Deeds and small Villages created and maintained over the years on these PvE servers long before your arrival. They last because pvp is prevented from destroying them. The game protects them, not players killing other players. Why would anyone want to destroy all this cherished work and devotion that has been put into these Deeds and Villages. This is what separates PvE from pvp and what PvE players find hard to relate to. With this pvp mentality is it any wonder that PvE players would want them to stay on their *side* of the game, or that it would concern them if the pvp side of the game no longer existed, or that a few players that were so focused upon pvp would quit because of it. Have no fear, the pvp side of the game will continue tottering along with its devotees asking (demanding?) for improvements. If there is any competition between these two sides of the game the PvE side has won out many years ago not too long after the game was created, as was and is evidenced by player numbers on each side. You might take a moment to realize that the PvE side of the game had this victory without even raising a sword. Irony or justice? The players simply decided with what interested them most about playing the game. To attempt as you have done to state that there are not two *sides* to this game is (trys to think of a polite word)..... =Ayes=
  23. Naw. It's just the pvp players up to their usual ranklings be they old or new. Meanwhile the PvE players are out enjoying the game rather than opening themselves up to abuse by taking a positive stand on it. Silence of the Lambs syndrome... =Ayes=
  24. True enough that Rolf's focus and mindset was upon pvp in the early days of its creation. He even unleashed the pvp players upon the PvE types in what they (PvE players) saw as a betrayal. To make amends he created another server where the PvE players could move to without the fear of non-consensual pvp being used against them. Still there remained now a distrust that Rolf might skrew them over again. This was all before my arrival here so I did not experience this but I can understand the PvE players sense of betrayal and mistrust. As many moved over to the Freedom PvE only server when it opened the numbers of players there grew to greatly outnumber the pvp players. The writing was now on the wall for all to see (especially Rolf), that being the main appeal of the game was the PvE aspects. Rolf gradually came to realize and accept this fact. It seems that you would prefer to label this as "abandonment". I would call it facing reality. For the vast majority of the players the exact opposite of your view in the second quote is theirs, that being they have no interest in participating in the pvp aspects of this game. The heart of this game are the crafting and building aspects so the game focus has proceeded along these lines. For you to further state that not much has changed for PvE on the whole since that time is a state of denial since the whole game has been improved vastly along those lines. The truly unfortunate thing is that the Developers still cling to trying to sustain the pvp aspect and spend any time upon it. If it were truly "abandoned" they would not be putting any resources towards this or modifying the PvE coding to accommodate it. The constant protests and gripes from the pvp players only exacerbate the situation as they never seem to be satisfied with any efforts put forth. I guess mainly the pvp claim for Wurm is just for marketing purposes or Rolf's hope of what will never be of any significance to the future of Wurm. It only has the opposite effect of dragging it down with disputes of no significance of which neither side of the game will ever be satisfied. I find your claims to be contrary to the facts. Let the old dog (pvp) die its natural death then, since none has the courage to put it out of its misery. =Ayes=
  25. There is some virtue to this "brotherhood" of exposed anonymity? Better perhaps to remain hidden under that rock? Here you only expose yourselves to the worst of Wurm potential unfulfilled. Move onward to your new adventures and leave the past behind. Wurm trods on over the corpses of the departed until the remains of their presence turns to dust. =Ayes=
