  1. WGenerator - Arpy's Edit

The nightly build of Gimp (Gimp 2.9) can save and edit 16 bit greyscale png
  2. I put a password on my server, then clicked hide servers with passwords. That made mine disappear until i figured it out.
  3. Also... maybe change the wording of actions regarding dropping on ground and making a pile too, since you make a pile with everything when you [drop on ground], except dirt. I suggest changing it so dropping all things on the ground makes a pile, and a different word such as [raise] alters the ground when you have dirt in your inventory. or some other command that fits with the [level] and [flatten]
  4. Wurm unlimited will be great for getting away from this community
  5. Is this possible to connect to the global freedom chat from wurm online to your own wurm unlimited?
  6. Perhaps Wurm Unlimited server could be made so that there are gm action logs from the start of a new map. And these logs are publicly accessible, and somehow verifiable as genuine logs. idk how??? Then players would be able to trust that gms or any server admin aren't cheating for themselves or their friends. (I guess they could still cheat by customizing a spot on the map for themselves.. but.) I don't see how any large pvp population could be achievable without some method of trusting server admins whom you don't know personally.
  7. Basically, it would be too difficult to manage for anything more than maybe just a one time thing. You would have to keep each account on a separate computer on a separate internet connection. Proxies can be detected. Also, if you ever accidentally logged in to the wrong account on the wrong computer, they would be flagged as being related. If for example someone wanted to make a new account just to secretly grief the neighbor of their main character, if might be too difficult and too risky to attempt, then they may just delay doing it and eventually calm down and end up not doing it altogether. Right now I think it is far too easy to do. And people do it. And I bet it is veteran players. From my experience, greifers know the rules more so than most people. I bet those vets wouldn't want to put their main characters under too much risk.
  8. I suggest to set up account management so that a player can have all their characters available under one account. Then allow players to identify other players by account. So you know what player you are talking to or dealing with. (Could also allow selling or transferring characters to other players accounts this way, if wanted.) You could use the new "code as data" features in java 8 to implement methods of identification. As an aside, you could also use this to identify genuine game clients from modified ones. I think account management and players allowed to identify other players as a good idea and would reduce a lot of the toxic behavior by some players in the community.
  9. Keep in mind, any suggestion anyone gives for this game can be dismissed by saying the money is gone, it's no longer yours and you cannot decide what areas of development are funded. Maybe the OP should have suggested to remove the ability to pay for premium or deed costs with in game currency
  10. Why not have traders only buy things that they can sell? Buy things from players, to fill orders from other players. The reason why trader "draining" happens is because players are selling things to the trader that no player would buy for that price. The traders dont really know what the value of things are. If they did, then people could sell things to traders or other players and it wouldnt matter becasue they would get the same amount of silver.
  11. Yes. perfect. make it easy for people to buy traders for their village, then let me(and anyone) put in a buy order for something and/or a sell order for something. the trader holds and fills the orders. and he also pays players (in silver) to ship "goods" from town to town or trader to trader.
  12. I don't think other people should be allowed to profit in RL money from this game. It invites the wrong type of behavior in what is supposed to be a social and cooperative game. When there are too many coins in circulation, they should just be removed from the game as needed to keep the value of silver in line with the cost of silver. Powerful accounts should be allowed to expire if the player is done with the game. Use that extra money for development. Don't let good people develop this game and not pay them. The wrong people are getting paid here. Keep the game economy in game.
  13. It's the reason this game is not worth trying to play competitively. I play for the creative aspect of the game and play cooperatively. The top vets are playing at such a high level that they would have to allow a new person in their game. That person could not do it on there own without the vets help. Ever. Even if a new server with fresh characters, the top vets would remain as they are because they know the game rules the most.
  14. I have some ideas of what makes wurm different. I think its the graphics and terrain division and building methods that make it different. A game like xsyon looks like it would be very hard to make terrain and objects to be built and placed in an orderly and symmetric fashion like you can in wurm. Wurm allows ocd to flourish. Wurm also seems to have very hard edges on objects (ie the highlighting) where the other games seems like a big blur. My question is what would you think of having a new wurm client where there is essentially no graphics engine on the client side? It just plays a video stream and sends your commands to the server. And the server (farm) is the one that does all the hardcore graphics processing in order to send video streams to every player. Benefits would include being able to play wurm on pretty much any hardware (even a $35 raspberry pi), it would make hacked clients and packet sniffers useless since you are only being sent a video stream from the server. It might be easier to reduce lag so allow faster responding combat system. Although it would put a lot more cost on the company since it has to pay for the processing to be done, but perhaps the graphics engine could then be tuned specifically for one machine architecture, so that would be a bonus too. Edit: OnLive is similar to what i was thinking of
  15. I agree with the OP mostly. But I guess the challenge rewards were made so they would be sold to pve players or be on pve servers. That kind of makes challenge a strage game. like a minigame inside of freedom, for players to make extra cash for freedom. I though tthe idea of challenge was a whole new way to play wurm, not just as a new facet of the pve economy
