  5. It is a pan with a fountain inside, there used to be a way to make them but you cannot anymore. Having a fountain container means you can fit a huge amount of stuff in it, very useful for dyeing things.
  6. My plans fell through so I'll be there to stand in / watch
  7. These aren't rules, we just want to know who to call on when we need more good fighters.
  8. Fighter 70.3 fs 72 ql weapon, also might want to include mag priests too smite is awesome.
  9. As much as it is nice to escape the bureaucracy of rl a sort of planning permission system could work. My idea is one person selects all the tiles like planning buildings and then has to build notices on say a fifth of the tiles spaced out. Then anyone could right click the notice and read the plans, which would show them all the tiles proposed as highway. They could then vote for or against it, I would suggest that voting be for premium only players and maybe only for people with deeds within a certain distance of the highway. After a month It would close the voting and if a high portion of players voted yes then it would be protected. I would also have a notice in place for anyone who is a part of the deeds nearby to get a message on log in saying "A highway has been proposed nearby". Highways would have to be at least 2 tiles wide, paved and less than 24 slope. This way you could also put up plans to alter highways which would also involve a vote. The aim of this is to make it a system that involves those who live near not one person deciding they have made a highway. As for enclosures, do what you want I live in a mine
  10. Maps

Thanks for the feedback guys, I assumed most people would be happy with the current maps and that seems to be the case. The site would not be public, it uses groups to control and view the map with an optional public link, but the existing maps are already very good. Webba
  11. Maps

Hi guys, I was just wondering if there would be any interest in a map website with markers and drawing for wurm. A couple of friends and I developed one for another game and just wanted to know if there was enough interest for it to be worth us porting it for wurm. Thanks, Webba P.S. the site for the other game is https://rustmap.net
  12. As much as I enjoy pristine because it is new It won't be destroyed by the merge, sure a load of deeds will pop up when it opens but as with most projects in wurm they will decay the market would be fairly similar for the new player, i.e they would have to aim for 70 skill before it is worth selling or do bulk and since this is already the case on P&R there is no issue there. The only downside as I see it is the fact that there will be so many high skill chars and some people like to know they can feel like they are the best. I maintain my vote as no as I personally do not want the merge yet, that being said the community seems to want it in an overwhelming majority. Uniques are either penned or dead so that is out of the question and as far as a sense of community I doubt the core community of P&R will change much. As much fun as arguing is I somehow doubt this thread will go anywhere, those in P&R seem to want it to stay the same on the most part, and old freedom want to have somewhere new to explore and new people to meet. I hope the merge goes better than this thread would let on but when it does I'm sure many will still quit either because they are stubborn or just move on. I'll likely be going back to epic when it happens but that is just me.
  13. The sole reason I was playing on the new cluster was so that we were with newer players, I know the market will just become cheaper but its will ruin the fun since all the old freedomers will just make yet another deed that lies empty and has 1g upkeep in it. I also thought the challenge was much more fun not having a ton of 90+ and very few 99s (if any) it made it feel worth it grinding skills up since you could go up and feel like one of the better players on the cluster. I understand that the old freedomers want it and it only seems fair that the majority gets kept happier. Back to epic for me I guess.
  14. Currently large barrels are only movable by push and pull, although I don't think we should be able to pick them up, It would be nice to be able to "roll" (effectively drag them) instead of having to use a cart full of small barrels. I know that this is not a necessary feature just a nicety which would be nice to have. P.S The reason for roll in quotations is that it would likely be a waste of time to actually make an animation for this just a clarification of how you can drag a heavy barrel IRL
  15. Love the idea of this change, and I really hope it helps newbies. edit I actually rethought the last part, The money amounts are low enough that I don't see many vets grinding it, to be honest if you wanted to make some money late game without using your character and had an army of alts then why not just pray on all of them, I know it may give less return but far less effort. Overall still nice to see another feature to help newbies
  16. As for a gps system the devs said they wont make it and it is a silly idea, even if it were an enchant it would be the most overpowered enchant in the game. That said having an option to share your markers on the map with a friend could be a nice feature and it would mean that people around the start could help out newbies by sharing information about the starting area with them and even a basic road map (I'm mainly talking about freedom here). Still great to see wurm focusing on the new player experience, it has become much better for new players over the years but a new focus on it should really help to boost the playerbase. The rest of the features look nice and the visual crafting will be a huge relief from endless context menus.
  17. Sure, Thanks for the response. I never got round to using it and that is quite interesting to hear. I am yet to see this touch 1% cpu so keep up the good work.
  18. Really nice tool, very helpful. I don't know if this is at all sensible but have you considered using a filesystemwatcher, I stumbled across it while doing another project to get rid of having to poll but I have no idea how well it works as I never got round to using it.
  19. Maps

So for those of us who dont like the standard map dumps, I made a simpler one. Forgot to say this is elevation.
  20. I understand that it is kind of for realism but since when is fog this thick so regularly?

  22. I completely disagree with breeding being premium only as most of the large animal pens are owned by premium players, and also if we are to make animals die faster or just die when they get too old even when on deeds this will mean that non premium players who might not be able to afford the game will have to pay for horses rather than breed them themselves. You would also be ending their chances of starting doing leather working effectively if they cant have a small supply of animals. I think we need some limitations or a life cycle that does make sure animals on deeds die eventually that way we will hopefully get lots of players both new and old having the animals they want. I already gave my ideas and I don't see the need to repeat what others have already said on how to create a working life cycle, we just need to find one system we can agree on.
  23. In my opinion, as a noobie, I see a lot of complaints coming from breeders so in order to humor them my suggestion would be to make a system where you can keep animals on deeds and they act the same as wild animals, as with regards to dieing, but you could allow each deed to have a small number of treasured animals which have say 25% extra life span and breeding life. As for the current thousands of horses, which should have died long ago in natural circumstances, they should be killed outright, immortality is something that no creatures, with the exception of uniques, should have.
