Why is that?

Thanks for the quick replies. I've renewed my premium and I'm currently building a boat to adventure to Xanadu. I need to know how to do this. This sounds especially useful.

I tend to play on and off every now and then. The last time I played, Xanadu was in stress testing and was close to being released. The next time Wurm caught my attention, it was the Wurm Unlimited announcement, though I didn't really think anything of it. Most of the times I left were due to one part burnout, and two parts premium time running out. Now that I can more reliably afford it, I'm thinking of coming back more regularly. But it seems like there's been a lot of changes while I was gone. I'm reading patch note after patch note. Even though most of them seem to be minor fixes, I do like that it's updated frequently. So what are the major changes and additions? I know bridges are a thing now which is great (never forget Newtown's landbridge), but what else is added that would catch my interest?

I believe that the 2x skillgain on Epic in addition to the curve further increasing your effective skill made getting high quality plate easier and less expensive is also a factor.

Good to know that the infamous bear shark swarm is now endangered. I'm not completely defenseless, assuming I kept my weapons and armor on myself instead of the boat. The last time I was just caught off guard and my fight skill was low enough that being non-premium wouldn't make too much of a difference. I also have a spyglass which would pay for a few months, but I got it as a gift on the condition that I would never sell it. Either way, I'm applying for work right now. Once I actualyl land a job, this thread will be irrelevant.

Thanks for the fast replies. I had a sailboat with quite a few items in it that was moored and locked, but it probably sunk by now. I didn't log in to maintain it because I was afraid of logging in next to a bear, since I'm in a spot that wasn't easily accessible by foot. Should've bought a rowboat... Last time I logged in next to a creature and died, I had to walk all the way around Freedom to get to my corpse pile, while avoiding stuff like this the whole way.
