  1. Artillery, you make it sounds awfully complex, what should be very simple realy. Although, I'm not saying it's a bad idea. But it seems rather hard to code.

    If Rolf reviews this topic, I'd still like to know an awnser on you know what. I'd hate to bug peoples on irc.


  2. 5 fs you say. Get a fighting doll and practice a hour every day, you will be at 15 fs in no time. Also, this worked alot better in the old system, noobs back than had alot more chance vs wild life.

    To think Rolf wanted the new FF to be more noobfriendly.. pfft what a failure.

    And I don't like polls, because people will vote who have no idea what they are talking about. PVP comes before PVE, monsters and npc can always be adjusted, players not. Therefore home players don't have any right to vote.

    And pretty much what has been said above. I use shortswords, and I havnt been able to defeat a player with less skill in any fighting ability, just because he uses longswords and a large shield.

    Do I have to start about undermining spawns, or penned animals for fightingskill? Well let me sum up. Undermining spawns is an exploit, penning animals not. Undermining spawns keeps away dozens of animals away from public, penning animals is usualy 1 per pen, assuming that each village has about 10 pens. Both ways are grinding, the otherone is faster and the otherone painfully slow, which one do you think is most fair.

    And I always thought that getting fighting skill per kill sucked, it is not wurm like at all.


  4. Rolf doesnt care about anything. If he did, he would go into discussion and defend his game, just like the awesome holy devs of Mount and Blade do.

    An other example. The game Supreme Ruler 2020 was very crappy too when it was released, kindof a beta state. Thier forum is spammed with complains. These devs however, respond to almost everyone in a reasonable manner and give feedback, no matter how much thier game or themselfes get bashed.

    Wurmonline team can learn from these guys.


  5. Nah, wurm is dieing. I am probably one of the most sceptical beings on the forums, but I have only seen sheitze in wurms developement last year. I doubt we will see a diffrence very soon, or atleast a year or 2.

    Here is a horribly paint made graph for you all to chew on. It's mostly my opinion and a few facts.

    I also hate the fact I have still a half year of premium pending. I had to say that.

    ps: Not harmfull to say, but this graph is more compatiable for wild. Home graph would be less steep.


  6. Me and Zarn fenced in some guy named Goat. We pushed his bed out of his house, made a nice 3x3 fence around it, lured his champion black bear in it and placed a sign called Teh Arena.

    At second thought, naming it Thunderdome would be more laughable.


  7. ABSOLUTELY NOT.

    This game used to be a fantasy stimulator, that is long gone now. It's more a team game that involves much player to player interaction. Adding an item shop doesnt simply fit in wurmonline.

    Altough, you already can buy silver from the wurm store and buy farewalkers, resstones at traders as you wish. So there basicly is one.

    Other than that. If Rolf realy needs more money, open a donation funding.


  8. I usualy went to the Landing to hunt noobs. Then at some day, there was this noob. Noob: "Hello Tosti", Me: "Hi noob, wanna trade a meal?". The new guy saw me, disregard my red outline and enemy tag he approached me. Noob: "How to trade?". Then I stabbed him in his legs. Noob: "wtf u doin?!". He try to crawl away from me while I equiped my shovel. I beated him to death while he was screaming and cursing. Me lieks that.

    I also fenced in Vixine, that was funny too.


  9. Your first idea would make everything more complicated though. Even though they are alts, they are also premium. Making more rules like that in wurm would take away the freedom this game has.

    Hmn, having bricks decay fast is an idea. It always occurred to me that rockshards decay in 4 days or so and bricks last months.

    I think Tops idea of having rubble to clear up aint such a bad idea. It prevents players from instandly rebuilding destroyed walls.

    And an idea from me. It might be an improvement if cata ammo standard scatters on impact. We personaly don't feel like shooting recourses to enemy for them to make bricks of LOL.


  10. Well, I do have to admit, it is annoying. Even though 20 dmg is alot. Both repairing and rebuilding is very effective, maybe too effective. I don't think increasing the dmg factor would help realy.

    To give JK a feeling were we are getting at, let me give an example of one of thier raids.

    Old Asgard is a good example. +20 JKers 3 catas, merely 5-6 of us holding out for nearly 1 hours by just repairing and rebuilding the tall walls. Even Shaggy got caught between the walls when rebuilding lol. If we were with atleast 5 more, the JK raid might have even taken longer, or might even failed.

    I personaly don't have any good ideas for this. But I know there is a flaw with the current one.

    Take that in regard and you see why we are getting frustated over this. And remember, this is for both JK/BL and MR, since we all gotta raid and defence sometime.


  11. Because it has been legalised, do you think it's still right to use this exploit, get real. Same with same kingdom archery and any other exploit there is.

    It's only legalised because they don't have the time to fix it, bah.

    As long these things are present/missing,:

    -bugs

    -anti exploit hardcoding

    -"fighting fix"

    -mount/multi floor housings/religion rebalance

    :there will be no need for a reset. A "Gold" version of the game must not be in such a sorry state as Gold 2 is in now.

    If there would be gravestones/stone signs, it would have the same system as wooden signs. So no worries.


  14. -  Some type of revival spell/stone.  Priests can revive a dead player with no skill loss, of course some type of timing period would have to be in place before it expires.  Maybe some type of stone you can buy off of the trader for maybe 10 silver that you can use once on a dead ally with no skill loss.  When an ally dies there would be maybe a ten minute countdown window that this can be used.

    -  Bridges?  Use a mallet and click on a tile to "start" bridge and then click on the ending tile to "end" bridge.  This can based off some type of skill such as carp for determining how long it will be allowed to be.  The tiles must be within 10 dirt of eachother and between the start and end points, there cannot be any dirt higher than the start and end points.  Once the structure is placed, it can be like a house...markers.  It will then generate what you need to complete it.

    -  Wooden equipment racks/stands.  This would mainly be used for long bows and weapons.  You can find all weapon types in this stand up to a certain weight, and it would open like a chest.

    -  wood rack.  Build a wood rack and place it outside of your house to hold logs.  You can place maybe 100 logs on each rack.  It can be opened like a chest but the better the ql, the lower the decay rate.

    Nice suggestions there. Let me give my opinion.

    *Revival spell/stone: This seems an high end and very strong ability.

    As item:

    I see loads of issues if this was buyable via a trader. Since silver is purchaseable via the store and traders getting drained by a few big towns. The most richest and recourcefull town will get the upperhand, no matter how costy and/or difficult.

    As spell:

    Still, it is a powerfull spell and surely should belong to a champions castlist. Why champoins? Because most arn't realy being used as they intended are. Champs usualy are alts who are inside a town, casting itemspells (fa/rt/aosp/woa/coc) all day long. This would make one more interactive. Obviously it would belong to a WL god. Pretty sure it would fit best with Fo, or either Vynora. The spell should cost some what faith and a "cooldown" of the spell should be optional. Best if the character which has been cast upon revives at the spot without a time wait, I can image several problems that would bring a timer with.

    *Interaction items Wooden equipment racks/stands/wood rack:

    All I can say, the more items the better. Maybe the wood rack should use animals fat to make it weather proof (perhaps a little less logs too, 100 is a lot  ;D).


  15. seems people forget when pvp actually died...

    PvP as it were has been dead for over a year.  Again, i re-iterate, there's more fundamental problems here, not just "bugs" and "lol fightfix sucks, even though i self-inflated how awesome it was when it came out".

    Im one of the few that thought the fightfix sucked since the very moment I tested it on the test server. Every update, testing. Yet many people were like "wath dats awesoem, thiz fix rox" and few months later they all started complaining.

    I can pull my hair out while thinking of this, since it ruined my favourite part of wurm.


  16. You all fail to realize that a map will happen eventually as some where along the line new features won't be possible without reset such as player made kingdoms.

    Now you're just fishing for interest in player-made kingdoms.

    Furthermore, no one ever promised us that feature. Don't count on getting it.

    Well, Rolf did say that the wurm's timeline and future is completely dependent on how the players behave.

    So start smashing yer towers, disbandon ur deeds, slay them kingdom animals. We want independence from the main land!
