  1. Skill reset, no.

    Map reset, very yes.

A map reset solves a lot of problems. You get rid of all the ruins, lost item piles and other database clutter and you provide exciting new continents for your customers to discover. The most fun in Wurm is the settling phase. The period where you're establishing a stable village economy of sorts.

  2. It's pretty clear what Rolf's intentions are with the GV server, to be a free unlimited tryout for new players. I don't think he will consider using that.

Got little opinion about ore caps. I prefer to say as it is now, don't see the point of changing it to something stupidly complicated.

But i dislike the idea of having 1398238901 servers which barely have anyone playing on them.

  3. ^what he said

But kinda funny, you're quitting cause you cant delete your account. lol

He's complaining because his premium can't be attached to a different account instead.

It's an interesting concept; paying for a premium service rather than a character itself, and choosing which one has it if you want to in the future, but not doable at all (would require Rolf to manually change it for everyone, probably).

  4. With separate servers (and in theory, separate games, though I think maintaining a link between them would be unique and a good marketing feature), it is going to be important to promote both sides of Wurm in a full and thorough way.

More servers mean more "vacancies" for players, if you like, and the publicity will need to be geared to reflect that.

That also means that Rolf is going to have to work out how much of his future changes for "Wurm Online - The Kingdoms" can be used so that they can get some good solid publicity without giving too much of the game away. It will need to be more than currently, though.

The other game, "Wurm Online - The New World" (or whatever it ends up being called) is a different marketing issue and may present an opportunity to try and attract an audience that is currently put off MMOs and many other games as they see them being violence led - an understandable perception given the marketing used.

This pretty much sums up how I think except for the link. There should be no link whatsoever between the two, Wurm Kingdoms and Wurm Pastures perhaps... If someone on Pastures really wants to taste the Kingdoms world then they can get another account and vice versa.

  5. All idea's good and fine. Aslong nobody from this non-pvp server is able to travel freely between pvp and non-pvp servers. Or perhaps with the option to totaly eraze thier skills for when they do.

Sorry did I say option? They are only able to cross server when thier skill resets. To prevent people grinding thier skills in a safe environment and travel to pvp servers to get the benefits of it.

  6. I recall when our town on wild got raided by +/- 20-30 people with half of them home players. And happened several times. To make matters worse, we had our town quite close on the edge of the JK home server. To think of how they where able to hit us, but we not them, made me angry back then. I also converted once to JK so I could use the "safety" of an home server to practice my skills without having to worry about getting killed or raided.

So my vote depends on what kind of solutions Rolf might have. Otherwise I'd got for seperate the servers permanently with no way to cross, ever and forever.

  7. Actualy, I agree.

Any medicore fighter with 8 planks, 8 shafts and some nails can whipe out most of the greenish spawns with no problem. Players have so many work arounds when dealing with "strong" creatures.

Raging also gives a crapload of FS.

  8. ye ofcourse, when wurm reaches 1.0.

wurm would get so many old players back. i'd think its a bigger boost then ever in history.

ofcourse people quit after a litle while but it will still be more then now.

    If you mentioned that earlier.

My vote is yes, due all obvious reasons lol.

Also, this thread shows how selfish players are. Waa waa, i wanna kep ma skillarz. I doubt Rolf is going to advertise a game to attract massive ammounts of players, only to be chased away by those several whining individuals with huge skills and better experience. If he's 100% certain on making a new start, which is fair for everyone, letting everyone keep thier skills is the last thing he would do. Besides, for the ones who forgat, who plays now will probably recieve trinkets and get thier premium time back. So what's the big issue?

I'm very certain there will be a reset in 1.0, both in skills and maps.
