  1. good points, I think we all actually know reasons on why wurm hasn't gained much attention yet. a few reasons on what is currently still an issue and could be improved: -there are many game assets that visually are inconsistent, while there have been attempts made at making it better, it's weird how some items look like they are petite with intricate carvings, while others look like someone just roughly shaped some wood with an axe, without it being tied to quality or skill requirement (as example why are flagpoles so incredibly thin?) -wurm online, the name, I'm not even sure if current players know what it's about, but it doesn't sound very enticing. too common word to be found accidentially, too far from what the game is about to be associated with what wurm is. Though a name change would be rather drastic change after this long time. -marketing in general, even after this long time, it's incredibly hard to even stumble over this game, there is barely any media presence and what marketing team has done over the years was mostly internal for already existing players, we would need social media presence of the team rather than mostly only the community. Relying on community and word of mouth, has it's limits. -accessibility, wurm is complex, not hard. The reason why people struggle to get into the game, is not because of graphics, it's accessibility for it's features. When starting out, players have no idea what you can even do in the game and just showing "a few chores" to learn the basics, especially with failing alot early on, is not inspiring to learn on your own....and handholding at the start is giving a wrong impression as well. There is confusion when starting wurm, that most land is already owned in the starting zone, so you can't really do much, which is also frustrating, because as a newbie, you might want to explore, but you don't stand a chance against monsters or wide open lakes/oceans and are really slow and there aren't any clearly visible signs of if something is owned already without paying attention to chat or knowing to inspect the ground. Pretty much: what I would think needs to happens, is an accessibility game overlay, that would allow players to be able to see the information important for beginners at a glance as a choice, a toggle, to augment the world, which might be less immersive but would help with the learning curve. It's also about creating incentive...what has been pulling me into wurm was seeing what other players made and to learn that "everything" has been made by players aka "I could learn and do all of this!" *while some landscapes are natural, we know we can create those too It needs to be made clear from the start, that this is a game about creativity, about sharing and community, about freedom and choices and the possibility of becoming great and known for something, that might last for a long time, to have a lasting impact. Those are the strengths of wurm and there are many people out there who have never heard of wurm who would probably love playing it, but it simply hasn't reached them. Starting with a new website and wurms branding was a good idea, but this new website and branding has been disappointing.

  5. you would want to use strongwall. erupt and freeze as far as I remember have cooldowns of a day, is not as immediately giving results and the results are hard to predict (might not work as you need it) also there is the added danger of creating lava tiles that might spread by themselves and then you end up running after them trying to freeze them before they run out of hand :x meanwhile strongwall can more or less be spammed as long as resources are plenty. downside is that the character gets limited cause of priesthood.

  8. also sadly permissions don't allow for second person to be as "powerful" over a deed like a mayor...as example i don't get bashing bonus as non mayor and there was also something about not being able to put locks on gates or lock/unlock them
  9. A simple suggestion(though don't know how hard it would be to realize). being able to extend the amount of deeds you can own by one, only once per account, permanently, with loyality marks. Can and maybe should be high cost for someone like me who wants to mainly play and manage everything over my main, it would be a big help.
  10. i would prefer something like "reduce skillgain for god unfavoured actions" rather than locking it like it is now 😕 it's ok to make things harder to obtain but the faithloss from going against a gods favour (which i don't even understand what the favour is based on exactly) seems a little much. I like to have one char for everything...im okay leaving some things to friends, but substantial things like digging shouldnt be restricted in my opinion.

I love magranon, what he stands for, heck I dedicated my whole Highway project to his name and NOW we even get a spell for increasing surface mining actions, which has been a major thing of this project BUT despite of all this, i can't be a priest of him, no matter how loyal, because he doesnt allow me to complete this Monument in his name, if I did, because I need to be able to DIG in order to even get to the rock I want to surface mine. I wanna rant, because I don't think there is anyone more dedicated to magranon than I am XD signed Farelle - Creator of Magranons scar, loyal follower of mag and his ideals, conquering a mountain.

  13. I think seasons is a big thing I know it's already mentioned...but how many games have season based game elements (mostly in regards to crops and harvesting seasons, but also snow etc.) and seasons that are also visual in general?
  14. persistency of what players build/how they changed the world is what I would find is most unique. Due to wurms slow nature it's not just taking time to do things, but it also takes time for them to go away, ruins, items, containers etc. as well as changed landscape from past and present players can be found in a lot of places and it makes each player having an actual impact on the world itself. Especially now with archaeology it has added even another layer of permanency. I could even say that the decay in this game is vastly different to other games, it rewards those with high skills to be present longer and due to resources being spread far and wide, there is no real need for competition, allowing players to wander into whatever corners of the world they wish to, leaving behind legacies in maybe unexpected places I find it soothing that things don't just vanish as the one controlling steps down and replaces with someone new....and that with the addition of the players creativities, how in a way, the game, for explorers, stays exciting

  17. by the waaaaaaayyy the south half of the scar is finished ? sadly, looking downwards from the bridge is not very great view due to rendering ?

I do like the random chance of a unique spawning at a rift event -would increase participation -is a well known place throughout a server with enough time ahead to know about it -makes sense as rifts are sort of our endgame content and already spawn very hard creatures -rifts are supposed to be invasions, wouldn't mind if the uniques in them would be like corrupted versions of current uniques
