  1. One of the top breeders on Release tried for months and months on end to breed an "old style" five speed horse. The results were dismal, and many released and killed babies later, the project failed. The babies either had four speeds and random other traits, or a little mix draft/speed (but nothing like old five speeders.) We gave up the experiment since it is clear that there is a system built-in barrier for top breeders and nobody will ever get old five speeders back, so no all rounder horses for Wurmians. The old system was not in line with wurm lore since 50 AH people could get "good" horses with a fairly high consistency, so there was no real incentive to get higher skill. However, the new system is also not in line with wurm lore either since high AH skill does not translate to mixes of "good" all rounder horses despite the traits of the parents matching the result the breeder wants to achieve. It takes week to get a result, and there is no real way to pick which traits transfer, even if the breeder really wants a mix of many drafts and many speed traits instead of the mix bag of other traits. Horse breeders must also maintain huge deeds with ratios to contend with. Why can't they breed old five speed, all rounder horses anymore? Please change this.
  2. I think what you suggested in Edit is something to think about. If two recessive traits are put together it is a rarer outcome. Maybe higher AH people can "see" all the traits so they can choose how to breed for the rarer recessive combinations or something, but at the moment it is just a random pick from a pool of RNG traits, regardless of the AH levels.
  3. Talking about putting everything in Spreadsheets: <Reynholdt> When you have a nail, everything's a hammer. Although Spreadsheets are more like the Swiss Army knife of tools. <Yuri> When you have a weapon, everything's a fight.
  4. Since the overhaul, AH has been pretty ordinary. Suggestion 1: Let breeders breed a third category horse "all-rounder" instead of just either speed OR draft. Many people loved the "olden day" five speed traits in one horse, so seeing these make a come-back and with the exact same graphic as well, would be awesome. It is weird that Wurm does not have "all rounders" but just always either speed or draft. Suggestion 2: Get rid of the "accustomed to water" trait as hardly anyone (not anyone I know any way) rides through shallow water instead of on roads. Replace this with a trait that adds speed on steep slopes, or a trait that allows speedier turns around corners. Suggestion 3: Please make stationary a negative trait. Suggestion 4: With Genesis, allow a Fo priest of high faith to choose which trait to remove. Suggestion 5: Give people with high AH more control over which traits they want to combine for offspring. It makes no sense that someone with 80 or 90 AH still get a bunch of random traits which they can only see after a week when the foal is born. Suggestion 6: Create a short rope where someone can lead an animal to the exact same tile the person is standing on, instead of it always lagging behind, making it impossible to park a horse on the right spot inside a skinny 1x2 camp unless both ends have gates. Suggestion 7: Given draft horses can carry more weight, create a saddle bag especially for those types of horses that can carry bulkier items. Then noobies can lead these horses and the horse can carry some of the load. Suggestion 8: Allow the owner of a cart to "lead" the horses of the cart to move it to another location instead of having to embark and drive the cart there. Suggestion 9: Dogs should be able to be born with traits like "tracking" or "pointing", so they can be used to sniff out if someone walked past a tile, or pointing out a prey. These can be disabled of PvP servers. Perhaps dogs can later on gain skill when they go out with their owner to practice these skills, but this is another topic. Suggestion 10: Not really AH but still something many people want: Please add the colour overlay to the new animals that spawn at holy sites, so a greenish sheep will actually be greenish, etc. Thanks 🐎
  5. Any future plans for curved walls? Quarter circle, half circle, arc with a degree value, etc.?
  6. Will the automatic tool selection apply to imping as well? Big items like ships and wagons always require reading the event tab and manually selecting the tool to imp, despite it being in the toolbelt. If others are on deed doing stuff which clutter the events tab, this becomes very difficult.
  7. Both people on our deed are experiencing bad lagging as well as dropping out when getting on/off carts, being kicked off ships for no reason, and completely dropping out of the game while still showing as "in game" for others. This has been happening since the last update. I have also experienced very laggy play, which starts about 15 minutes after I relog. Other alliance members also report very laggy game today - players are located in Australia, UK and USA. Is there some glitch? Thanks
  8. The server Release seems to have very few to no wild horses. People who visit for rifts and slays seek for hours to find a horse, and seem not to get any wild horses. The other day one horse breeder released a whole bunch of very good horses (ebony four speeders, four draft horses, etc.) of various ages. These horses were let loose on the steppe and allowed to just roam off for others to find. We went there the very next day to find some horses for a returning player and found all of them dead. These horses were very good and just killed there on the spot, and left to decay (not even butchered.) As they were not killed for resources, or taken to be used as riding horses etc., I can only assume that it was someone who came past and saw an opportunity to kill these for the 20k creature slay journal goal. Given this is the top tier or requirements, I wondered why it was not specified to be "aggro" creatures. Seem very weird that in the highest tier of journal goals people can go around just killing passive mobs without any risk, yet it is the top tier journal requirement. TL:DR Please change the journal requirement to aggro creatures going forward.
  9. With the wonderful bunch of animals being spawned at the Holy Sites, all with conditions like "raging sheep", "slow cow" and so many others, please have these take on the same tint/colour as for the wild mobs. Think of the rainbow sheep, donkeys, cows etc.!
  10. Please change the AH system to enable or allow a mix of draft and speed traits to be created. Specifically, allow high end horse breeders to pick a mix of draft and trait skills to get to a horse of "old style" five speed mix. The graphic of these horses were very pretty, and it is a shame we can't breed these trusty speed/draft mix horses any more. The constant RNG regarding random traits are very annoying.
  11. The only thing that came close was my horses growing wings and armour touching Sol when my computer used the internal graphics card instead of Nvidia. Maybe Jackal is building a highway down to come invade your deed?
  12. Not sure if mentioned before but if you have a quiver equipped then no other place will be checked for arrows. Even if you have arrows in your inventory, you won't shoot anything if you have a quiver equipped. The system only checks the quiver if it is equipped, then if assumes you have no arrows if there are none in your quiver (even if your whole inventory is full of arrows).
  13. I often think about when you dropped in to help us with a ticket and we were turned into furry wurm critters...try that trick with the devs, they might be so surprised they forget to think about more work for you! Thanks for all that you invest in the community Pomona.
  14. Very well put All of that should be shown, but most likely won't be shown.
  15. uh

Nothing like a new skin discussion to bring the community together
  16. Could possibly help with journal requirements to participate in .... (amount) of unique kills as well, especially since it is difficult to get to set kill times if it falls in your 2 AM to 3 AM or on other servers with same real life time settings. At least rift times roll forward and cover most time zones eventually. Some people also collect hide and scale to try and create their own armor, but don't always get into the dragon kill groups. Loot only to those who actively participated and got to some reasonable minimum participation level, to stop alts just spamming local for the drops. Overall it seems like a workable idea, imagine the final mob is a champ black dragon that spawns out of the blue ....Could be quite entertaining.
  17. In case anyone is on Release, just outside spawn (on the south side of Sloping Sands) there is a pen with freebie animals - we usually have no-trait or low-trait horses, sheep, bison, bulls, cows and donkeys. It is directly outside the gate of spawn on the right hand side... can't miss it. Regarding wild horses, I agree, they can be very difficult to come by. It seems to depend on the luck of the draw or perhaps whether you can jump rope.
  18. It started raining cats and dogs so I could not finish real life gardening, came inside to play wurm and made flowerpots (so I could continue planting flowers). I made a heap, had to drop them (easy peasy just select "drop" and boom, there they are on the floor....) However, when I had to pick them up I found out I had to pick them up ONE BY ONE. Click click click. Then the storm caused a power interruption so I actually had to fumble around to find a torch to go see what the issue was and before I could get any further the power came back on. Then I had to log into Wurm again and continue picking up pots ONE BY ONE. Seriously? Enough to make me grumpy!
  19. Most likely, I am like a magpie and store ideas in my Wurm inspirations folder. These were all just so awesome and showcase some of the great things that can be done in Wurm.
  20. Is that a tiny black skull? No, just a black bear's nose... Once you see it you can't unsee it.
  21. I guess the idea is to give people with 100 skill something else to strive for. This was but one idea, I guess there are many others. How about a "skin" but it fits into the medieval theme, like a nice feather plume shown on your helm in different colours for different weaponskills, or weird horns like the vikings, or a backpack adorned with little bottles and trinkets and natural stuff for NS, like the travelling medicine men would have in those days? Yet another idea would be to do what some other games did namely opening up another level to gain skills over the max level, when many players reached max level, so then all of a sudden all skills would still get the title at 100, or choose the title if you are the first one to reach it, but you can keep grinding it to 105? For another title to choose? Whatever arbitrary cut off point comes next. Not sure that is the right way to go either, although now we can get casts over 100, so there is some form of example in the game. However, it is a fact that many players are now at that level and probably some form of additional challenge would be nice, and opening another clean slate of titles to choose from at say 105, might just do the trick.
