  2. Crashing frequently on login. Sometimes it seems to work stable at first and then it crashes like 3-5 mins into the game. Running 64 bit system and have 64 bit Java installed. Gpx driver is up to date as well.
  3. This was possible years ago - only for a momentum though. It was removed because people were able to push / pull each other into walls etc. I doubt it'll be re-added, since it was quite abusive. People were being pushed into walls in pvp for example. Even on PvE - you could probably find someone pushing a player who is afk down a cliff etc etc.
  4. Nope. I played on Chaos when it was still the wild server and returned a few years ago. I founded a town about 2 years ago, which due to its size hasn't fully finished its defenses but is now close to it. It takes time, but it's possible. And empty land? There is TONS of it. I don't think of the PvP as stale. The thing with pvp in wurm is, its not like other games. If someone crafts at his deed it is unlikely he'll get pvp unless someone else comes to him to attack. That's the whole point of it. If people don't leave their deeds they cannot expect the other side to do it either. I think connecting the other borders of Chaos to the existing servers would be a far better choice. Being a player from the so called winning kingdom of Mol Rehan - I can see how that would endanger my position on the west side of the map. Most of the fighters live in the east anyway. So raiding from Freedom would be possible from Xanadu's west border. People might even end up establishing new deeds / PMKs on the west side. Or at least trying to.
  5. 8 Hours to go! Don't miss your chance to bid on this beauty.
  6. That bridge calculator seems nice... but really needs more explanation for me to get it working. ^^
  7. 1 1/2 days to go... and to the top we go.
  8. Yes. It's just some people prefer WA and the helm had that when I got it. So I left it on. I'll leave that decision to the buyer.
  9. All items except for the helm have 90+ AosP. The helm has 80 Web Armour. Starting bid: 25 s / 25 € Min Inc: 50c Sniper Protection: 1h I do accept private bids BUT I'd suggest you bid in the thread, because I might not be on to post the bids here in time. So if the auction is close to an end and I haven't seen your private bid, I will just accept the last bidder in the thread.

  11. Okay, I've just had the idea that it would be nice if we could name streets, tiers / districts etc within settlements. This would work the following: -You buy an item from a trader (e.g. location rod, twig, marker, whatever you want to call it) -The item should be rather cheap, but not too cheap. I am thinking of 1-2s here. And maybe an extra upkeep of 5c per month for each location set in a village. -You go to a place within your settlement and lay it out - thinking this could work similar to how settlements are planned, but there should be no limits regarding length / width as long as it is within the settlement. You could have a road stretching the whole way N-S or W-E and want to name the thing. -After planting one gets either a location writ / or this goes into a separate menu of the settlement deed Ingame it could look like the following: [15:17:43] This is within the village of Ravenholm. This is within the 'Ravenholm Plaza'. [15:17:43] This is within the village of Ravenholm. This is within the 'Raven Lane'. [15:17:43] This is within the village of Ravenholm. This is within the 'Raven Avenue'. Additionally it could work similar to deeds itself, giving a message on entering it. For example: [15:17:43] You enter The Great Temple of Ravenholm. Also: -Only mayors should be able to plant these -Shouldn't be affected by anything in terms of houses etc. So you should be able to plant it even if you don't have the writs of all houses in the area you wish to give a name
  12. Hey, I'm currently on a very unstable connection.. I could play the game somewhat since the last gpx update though... But I can't seem to get wurm updated now, as whenver the connection dies for a few seconds the client stops updating and doesn't continue whenever the connection is back again. So the furthest I've got was 71% of the update... but that's like in 10 tries.. >.< Is there any way to download the gpx without using the client?
  13. I don't think the profit per player on the PvP servers is higher. People on PvE may pay less for their deeds, but a bigger percentage of players actually have a deed of their own there. You can cover a vast ground on Chaos without finding a single deed, because the players live together in huge fortified towns. I'd say, across all current kingdoms even the most active deeds average at around 10 guards. That is main deeds, not frontline war deeds. Those have usually less guards as the players are highly active to defend these and they don't protect much valueables anyway. Another aspect that makes PvE actually more valueable is the selfishness of the players there. (Sorry, I don't mean to insult, but this is based on experience / hearsay) On Chaos each of the kingdoms is a big family. There is usually no charge for weapons, armour or tools. Just imagine if you'd charge your fellow fighter to improve his weapon or his armour and he cannot afford it. He'll fight next to you in crap gear. How could he be helping you effectively that way? So you want to improve his stuff for free. Same goes for enchants. On Freedom on the other hand, I often hear that people charge even the people in their alliance. Maybe with an alliance discount, but still. Thus, I believe while there may be a higher number of guards per deed on Chaos, but far less deeds in total, Freedomers buy more silver from the shop to acquire their gear than PvP players do. I often experience this "problem of payment" with fresh recruits who just came over from the Freedom Isles. They really want to pay for anything in the village. It's silly. While the conversion from the Freedom Isles kingdom on Chaos is done with a few clicks, it takes quite a while to convert their mentality to that of a PMK player. This is probably one of the things most players on Freedom don't grasp either. They are afraid of losing their gear. But any good community on Chaos will do their best to replace any gear that is lost in a fight or raid (again: for free). Of course, this is often limited to the skills of their comrades, but the bigger the community, the higher the choice of skills. However, the replacement of drake / scale or rare items is rather unlikely.
  14. I usually play on Chaos only, and tried out Challenge v. 2 today. Didn't bother trying the first one, as I assumed it'd be pretty boring, bugged and stale. I liked the changes they did to the concept, respawn with full equipment etc. And the map layout fits the design as well. However, while I was somehow able to get my medium maul skill up to 42 (effective 66) in about 2 hours... That's rather a joke than a "wow". I skilled at a rate of ~1 skill per creature slaughtered. I killed almost anything I came across, except for trolls and sol demons. In all this time, I did not see a horse. But after 2 hours: [22:53:04] You mount on the mature brown cow as the driver. Horses are just way too rare on this server. It's silly. They are vital to pvp, and make this an incredibly boring experience. Anyway, I'd rather play Mount and Blade if I wanted pvp of this kind. Not gonna bother 'playing' that server any more than this.
  15. Noizhead told me about this method on IRC. This also stops planning a house at 19 tiles whereas it seemed I could plan endlessly with the method mentioned in the OP. Couldn't test it further than 23 tiles, since I ran out of space though. Building my house now with the plan building workaround at 19 tiles length. So the real issue that should be addressed here is that ppl could build endlessly long houses - which isnt an issue on Freedom, but surely on Chaos when they're used in defenses.
  16. Further info: I just counted the length of the house I "planned" using the add building function and it goes 23 tiles straight in one direction. Was the length limit of 19 tiles removed?
  17. I just tried to plan a house after the recent reboot of the server. I can plan the starting tile as usual by clicking "plan building" - then I cannot plan further tiles, until I finish the building and use the "add building function".
