  1. Did I misunderstand the news or sth? I thought this is what they changed it to yesterday?
  2. Eh, I think the rates just change by itself every day, every week, every month. It depends on the economy of the server you are on and if the pool allows to give out money. If there is a lot to spare, people will usually find more.
  3. I'll pick up. Coasts only, I won't travel over land. Looking for 1 knarr full of dirt. That's 43 x 300 = 12900! Would prefer to swap empty crates for full crates. Acceptable pick up locations: SW, S, SE Indy W, N, S Deli W Exo NW Cele PM me with a price if you have what I'm looking for.
  4. There are nice aspects with the code. While some of the valrei creatures like nogumps are just a pain in the ... Hunting them provides a nice little bonus! The main reason most Chaos players dislike Epic anyways is the double skillgain, the curve and most importantly: devastating terraforming events. That said - I was also against using the volcanoe rods on Chaos.
  5. That would indeed be nice. Maybe have some event message as well... instead of having to calculate it. This would also raise the attention of players unaware of this.
  6. Yes, I've seen such suggestions and would like to see it implented. It's not like much has to be done for it either. The god's Avatars are already in the game and they all have their own models - even Tosiek afaik! It'd be awesome if they would use the artifacts to fight of the attackers and if they lost the fight, the artifact would drop. The libila avatar would be the most deadly, or the easiest one. Wouldn't it be funny if it used the orb of doom on the attackers? Even funnier, if the orb instakilled the avatar.... Hehe. (Avatar orb usage would require at least 5 prem 50+ FS accounts attacking it though, or ppl would just run alts at it repeatedly in hope it kills itself)
  7. Hah, its what makes them annoying to keep. While I'm glad they are in the hands of MR, I'm also glad I'm not the one who has to deal with them. 3 weeks in itself is plenty of time, if it wasn't for the weird recharge times. For those who do not know (obviously not you proph ), you cannot just go to the altar and recharge it. It's only possible to do so on certain wurm days. While those also "rotate" around the day, they often fall in awkward times. That is of course good, if you want the enemy to have their artifacts drop. However, it will become a pain as soon as you claim the artifact for your own faction. It's hard to say what's best here... I just wish they wouldn't have to be dug up IF they indeed drop. Some other mechanic would be far nicer.
  8. It's only in the client start up right now. Artifact balancing New method for recalculating kingdom influences when a village disbands or a tower is destroyed. Possible fix for breeding timers. Fix for corrupt animals on non-PvP servers. A fix of the fix of walls, now even more chance of not getting bad walls while doing construction work. Champions are now limited to 3 per kingdom. Artifacts will now drop upon death. Artifact damage no longer stacks with enemy presence bonus, Truestrike, Hate path increased damage, Rod effect or Warrior deity bonus damage. Changes to artifact charges: Artifacts still need recharging but the max recharge is 30 uses instead of 120. 10 uses are still removed automatically every week. Orb of Doom consumes 10 charges when used. Current items will have their charges set to max 30. You no longer can teleport when carrying an artifact. Artifacts no longer deal critical hits. Artifacts should no longer spawn beneath deeds or structures. The Crown Of Might now has better protection stats and shields the face. The Rod of Beguiling now weights half as much and gives 20% damage bonus instead of 10 (not always stackable). Artifacts now properly drop on ground during controlled restarts. The Eye of Vynora now will detect through NoLocate spells.
  9. I am confused with the recharge thing. So as I understand, all currently revealed artifacts were set to 30 charges. They can only be charged for another 30 charges. Does that mean, in 6 weeks from now (or depending on use, even faster) all the artifacts will go to the ground? And once freshly revealed, the longest time one can keep them is 15 weeks (if you dont use them at all - lol)?
  10. There sure is roaming on Chaos. Just because you dont run around, doesn't mean other's dont. I do it once in a while, granted, most time I meet no one, because everyone usually sits on their deeds. Bashing Towers - MR has recently bashed a few. There may be a reason. Find one for yourself? Or just leave it. Rare or Supreme boats do not change anything. I've seen that sometime last year when I was in a boat chase, the sailboat's speed reaches the same max as the normal one. That is - with a full crew. A rare boat with 4 ppl will have the same speed as a regular boat with 5 ppl. Nothing gamebreaking. Who would want to fight with less people?!
  11. This argument seems rather pointless. JK people will just support their side, MR will support Horton. I am gonna stay out of this discussion, I didnt even know he champed until I saw this thread. lol I wish the code would be properly separated in this case. As people have experienced it is buggy and not really thought through. We've seen people lose their faith / alignment whatever it is. And the random spell list thing, which sounded quite interesting in the beginning turned out to be a problem that needed a hotfix in order to prevent some super overpowered god. I bet no one thought about the fact that a new god may have champs as well before Tosiek ascended. This player god concept just has way too many flaws.
  12. I think Kyara is bigger than 100x100. Just guessing from the map dump here. My own town, Ravenholm, is 71x71 or sth similar to that lines and seems to be only half the size of kyara. But again - this is just based on my looks at the map dump.
  13. Ugh, I'd say if someone wants to spend that much money on a deed... go ahead.
  14. One could simply go for an agreement in between the kingdoms "Do not use bridges for pvp, e.g. raids to gain access - Do only build bridges at your own deed". At least until we know they're safe to use. I for one, dont want to wait longer. I want bridges!
  15. When did you become a HOTS player? There is a 2 weeks conversion timer, so if you just become a member of HOTS you'll have to wait that time before you can join another kingdom.
  16. Congratulations!
  17. 1 1/2 hours to go!
  18. How about instead of going to the ground the artifact goes to an avatar of said god? This would then require an actual group effort, instead of 1-3 priests capable of casting locate artifact and 1 guy with a shovel. The avatar would hold the artifact, and in the case of artifacts that are useable in PvP - it would actually do so. Would make for a quite interesting fight, if the avatar of libila would use the orb of doom.
  19. Yes, my idea would currently favor MR. I cannot deny that. But e.g. the % of land owned could be simply changed to % of recently claimed. Or % of land recently taken away from kingdom X. The number of HOTA wins could also be recent, total or whatever. Also, the number of artifacts could have a peak. For example the chance that the artifact will drop for that specific factor could stay 0 if the kingdom has 3 or less. 2.5% at 6. As in that the gods try to keep the balance. Hence, I said the factors were suggestions. I was trying to provide a system that enlarges the chance for artifact drops BUT is influenced by the players.
  20. I fail to see where it creates the opportunity for roaming. When an artifact goes to the ground, it's not on top of it. It has to be dug up first. That means you need to find the exact tile it is buried under. People will just start casting locate artifacts from their town and after a while - it is a random 1 / 12 chance after all to get the message for the artifact you are looking for and there is a 30 mins cooldown on casting - they get an idea of where it could be. The general area can be rather easy triangulated with a few casts from all over the map. There is no need to venture into enemy territory, unless you know it dropped there. From the previous drops - we have seen, it does not really happen.
  21. Zekezor's idea would still mean that the artifacts would've to be dug up every 4 or so months. All 12 of them. How about this: Whenever an artifact is being recharged at the altar the gods will decide whether the person (or rather, kingdom) recharging it is worthy of having it. A couple of factors that could alter the outcome for this could be: 1) % of land owned. 2) number of battlecamps currently captured by the kingdom. 3) number of HOTA wins (total) 4) number of Champions 5) number of artifacts held by your kingdom (artifacts would need to save last person holding, and give away to foreign kingdom alts in order to avoid this factor needs to be punishable) I am not gonna give a formula here, as I am not very good at maths! But I was thinking there could always be a 5% base chance that the artifact drops. All the other factors could each make up another 5%. So if a kingdom fails all of these there is a 30% chance max that the artifact drops. A system along of these lines (factors are just suggestions here) would make it a little less random, but there is plenty of room for artifacts to drop. Plus, the recharge times would likely become more predictable since there is always the risk of it dropping I'd recharge it only if I have to. And of course, the player can influence this system by becoming a champion, claiming land or battlecamps.
  22. I dont think that they are too hard to be captured. Since Elevation just restarted, I assume this is about Chaos only right now. Thing is - Mol Rehan owns all 12 of them at the moment - all 12 of them were recharged during the last week, in one and the same possible time span. And may I say - JK managed to steal all of MRs artifacts from deeds in the past? So first they were recharged at the WL, then at the BL. I was joking to a villager of mine "Ah its so good its not predictable when they are recharging them." If someone was truly trying to claim them back for another kingdom, there was more than one chance for it. It took over 10 minutes to charge them at the WL. Then it took like an hour or more to travel to the BL. Not all artifacts are weapons. Even if it were just for the 4 weapons that there are - they lose 10 recharge points a week. That would mean there are 40 kills per week needed. Periodic respawns would be plain annoying and would mean there is no point in trying to keep them because you cannot do that anyways. If anything to make it "less of a gamble" when they are recharged - remove one of the 2 possible recharge times and the chance that when you try to catch someone recharging will be much higher.
  23. My last time in JK didn't go well. I believe I am still on most KOS lists. And I am not disillusioned with Melros either. I totally get why he quit the game. At times I feel the same - hence I had already sold off twice in the past. We have people like this in every kingdom. And every kingdom also has its nerds. (No insult, I consider myself one!)
  24. Like whom? Melros? He joined you and is now selling his account. What is there more to say? But I am happy in my corner of the map.
  25. Do you really expect an answer that is not objective? The feeling you have within a community cannot be described anyway. It's individual. Just get on Chaos and try out one of the factions and see for yourself. Free bump for my dearest Jenn-Kellons.
