  1. RIP Tich.? I seem to recall first meating her back on JKH as she was hooking up rockcliff to the BBM highway, as she and Uzetaab were clearing some trees they popped in and helped out our village aginst a pesky spider (back when they were really deadly) It didn't take long for me to end up living in Rockcliff and helping out digging dirt for the ramp. Tich always made the time I spent in game great fun, she was always nice to talk to, to offer suggestions and come up with crazy ideas. I seem to recall the spire was origionally going to be 2 levels lower, but that didn't last long before she decided it could be what it is today. She will be missed.
  2. If it adds no value, then why do you want lighting? A lot of people seem to be saying "going around to all our lamps on deed will take too long", or something to the similar tune. That is why rolf added the olive barrel at the same time. If you have one on your deed, and have olive oil in it, then on deed lamps will be automatically filled. You won't ever have to go around mantually filling lamps on deed. That changes it from a menial maintenance task to occasional one off resource collection, to me.
  3. [08:42:06] A forge made from stone bricks and clay, intended for smelting and smithing. This is a very rare and interesting version of the item. It is glowing from the heat. It could be improved with a rock shards. Ql: 70.66762, Dam: 0.0. [08:42:14] A forge made from stone bricks and clay, intended for smelting and smithing. It is glowing from the heat. It could be improved with a rock shards. Ql: 70.632286, Dam: 0.0. Lighting one after the other for speed tests. Placed 55ql lumps of coal in one directly after the other, which took 1 second, and then going by looking at heat indicator and counting in my head, i found that the rare forge heated the lump to glowing approximatly 4 seconds faster. Stupidly i forgot to test how long it actually took Second test was with 69.49ql ores. I placed one in the normal forge followed by one in the rare forge 2 seconds after. 3 seconds after the rare forge turned to lump, the normal forge did, which is about 5 seconds total difference. The total melting time was about 2:30 seconds, which is about 3% improvement. I missed the burnout times of the forges though, as i was going by the visual state, which didn't update when the forges went out.
  4. How High

The origional spire was 4*298 levels tall, we worked on it a few years ago, it had 48912 dirts in it. We always planned to clear and lower the area at its base, but i don't think we ever realised how much dirt was in there About 6 weeks ago tich decided to add another layer. Partway through enlarging the base we decided that adding 2 layers would be better. The current one has 135312 dirts in it. So that's 86400 dirts we've added to it in the last 6 weeks. Doing the math brings it home, so much digging! Here's an action shot of Tich paving it a week ago
  5. *1 and a half months later* Yeah, uni was a slight issue. I am still interested in a meetup, location and times are fine for me since i'm on holidays starting this Monday. Obviously people will find it hard to travel from sydney, but maybe we should just call this the SEQ wurm meetup, and let those Sydney and Melbourne guys have their own.
  6. Was 23 when i rode down it last night, i'd imagine its entirely possible to convert it into 20 slope later aswell. Quite epic, makes my commute to greendog that much quicker
  7. Currently you are able to place merchants on Green Dog. For now i'd ask that people place them to the east of the current ones, lining the road. If a lot of people want to place them down, i'll make another few rows for merchants, but for now just along the side of the road from the token.
  8. Yes, its all members. We used it a few months back to get a deed back off an inactive member (who returned about a week later. go figure) It did, however, stuff up after the new mayor logged off. I think they had to send an email to a Dev to get it sorted.
  9. I was actually tempted to say last night that you'll probably find somewhere heaps better anyway. Guess i didnt even need to!
  10. As a player, I really do not mind at all if someone builds near, next to, or even over a public highway that i've worked on, so long as they keep the flow of traffic the same (eg, no blocking it, plopping your deed in the middle and then routing the road aronud your deed, etc). and of course don't manipulate it so that it causes you damage walking over it. Again, as a player, we try to work our comprimises with anyone whos deed is on any road we're building. However, sometimes it works both ways, where routes that we've picked will have someone settle on them before we actually get to work on that section. In the end its all about good communication and comprimise.
  11. Who cares if its its a spider death trap, gotta love a good cutting!
  12. I think that was changed a few months before freedom mate
  13. I really miss the thinner forests. You know, being able to see things.
  14. maybe your looking at it the wrong way mate. they don't get "a bigger map and nothing else". they get to see, off the top of my head, boats, slopes over 60, stone houses, more mobs, higher QL tools and more experienced players, amoung other things. That's certainly more of a motivation to upgrade to premium than the current GV in my book.
