Shriveled tree will replant itself after it dies
Brash_Endeavors replied to byxoft's topic in Unlimited Discussion
I do not think there is currently a way to stop it, though probably someone could make a mod ... if they thought there was widespread interest. Not aimed at shriveled trees, but you can stop "tree spread" where a clump of trees will slowly over time spread and form a forest. It's in server settings See also this thread for advice on what numbers to use -- some like 0 or 1 are bad choices: -
Poll: The best changes Wurm ever made

Those are all good ones! I meant to have Bridges but kept spacing it out 😛 Archaeology and Underground Buildings would get my vote, too! -

Valleyglen (2048) -- small and newbie friendly

Yeah I always throw them in at like 0.01 (really rare) but it is pretty easy to redo the ores if anyone wanted a map without. -

I understand I grew up in states where there was always snowcapped mountains year round, even in July, so to me it is natural and not jarring at all, but i can understand others may not be used to that idea if they are from other regions of the country or world. Wurm's winters are so incredibly short anyway, that for me having a trace of snow in the mountains is both very natural and even necessary. Mount Hood (Oregon) In July: -

Resources are plentiful (trees, clay, ores, tar, etc). Slopes are mostly gentle for easy travel and newbie terraforming, yet hilly enough to support mines even for waterfront deeds. Lots of waterfront and interesting terrain for boat travel, highway making, bridges, canals etc. Feedback welcome, to help me learn for future maps. LOL, call me slow but I finally figured out why Tranquil Gardens map looks so familiar I am definitely needing to go there!

Just to clarify -- if "deed upkeep is free up to 1000 tiles", seems odd we need 5 silver towards upkeep costs. Is the second line instead meaning initial purchase of tiles is free up to 1000 tiles, we get 5 silver towards upkeep, and upkeep is enabled on all deeds of all sizes? also: So this means we initially buy the land (except the first 5 silver worth is actually free) and also get another 3s credit towards upkeep, or free upkeep but 5s upkeep credit for deeds over 1000? Or the 5 silver is not for upkeep at all but for purchasing tiles? Sorry I got confused trying to figure it out 😛

Actually, wurm players rather than devs built the lions share of the wurm wiki, which has had 15+ years to reach it's current state of depth and helpfulness. Valheim has only been out a few weeks, and really quite unsure how useful the wurm wiki would have been (or if it even existed) a few weeks into its "early access." I don't know how useful it is, but there *is* a Valheim wiki here: https://valheim.fandom.com/wiki/Valheim_Wiki. As far as finding things on the forum -- same thing, players have been compiling that info for a decade and a half. But you still have to SEARCH, which means phrasing things just right to get the answers, and I tend to use google for my searching in both wurm and Valheim. Googling for Valheim help is how I have gotten on so far, and with over three million mostly enthusiastic players, there is actually a LOT of info on the web!. So come back in the year 2036 and maybe Valheim's wiki and forums will be as helpful But still, Wurm is soooo much more complex, complicated, wogical, content laden, etc that it's wiki is going to be used by veterans even a decade and a half into the game. I have well over 15,000 hours into WO/WU and as much as I enjoy Valheim, I doubt I will ever be playing it for as long as I will be playing Wurm Wurm is still my PASSION!

I absolutely love the bows. You do have to practice a bit in order to compensate for trajectory arc. If you practice some though they are absolutely worth the trouble (some complain they are OP). But just sneaking with a knife is also quite good. The easiest way to dispose a lot of boar heads etc is to drop them in semi deepish water, apparently they despawn if you do that.

I want to create a custom ressource/rock layer. How Do?
Brash_Endeavors replied to Arathok's topic in Unlimited Modding
deleted my bad ideas 😛 I came up with two better ideas (besides simply messaging COUNT ZERO to ask how he did it) Edit 1 : Have you already tried asking in the discord modding channel? https://discord.com/invite/yrvGsdU Edit 2: it looks like Jonneh may have made a custom map generator that includes regional ore distribution here? Not sure if this does what you need, but maybe worth a look: (the problem may be finding someone who still has the files for this particular generator since the link is apparently broken ... which might involve again asking CountZero or the modding discord, unless someone here has a copy..) edit 3, there is probably someone who can write a script to do this with an existing map, similar to the script that fixed sandstone veins, again maybe ask in modding channel...
