  1. +1 to adding a button to the Quickbar. Calling for guards to help is one thing all new players have to do. While I have it bound to Ctrl+z and would like that option to remain, I agree with OP that forcing a brand new player to open up Console gives the game an unfinished feeling. +1 I'd like to be able to toggle the items in the Quickbar. A couple I don't use at all (Looking at you Lawful button).
  2. I also wished it was in WO. There would finally be an actual reason for me to make a table. Bdew, you churn out so many great mods. How come Code Club hasn't hired you already?
  3. Tested it, replied the result to you in pm. Thanks!
  4. Yes, you only need to know 1 test meal and what affinity it would give your specific toon and you can use it every time to fill in the Setup Box. Then proceed to the fun Meal Maker part! I usually do a couple of affinities in a row in the Meal Box and type the recipes in Notepad. Btw: be careful, just because Meal Maker will let you choose combos like minced Rosemary, doesn't mean you can make them in game! In your example I would change the Rosemary to chopped and either change the Cabbage to chopped or the Nutmeg to ground.
  5. Maiya, did you fill in the same in the Setup Box area? Kazthegreat: Great tool! I've been using it a lot in the last two weeks (yes I'm late to the party of Full house pizza affinity foods). Could you please add: Haggis Fries Pesto Gravy Thanks!
  6. Imping cloth tailoring, leatherworking, pottery. Some fun pictures taken at the Shrimpalong (thanks GMs!). Is it a tiny bunny? Or a huge bunny? And what is it plotting?
  7. I've parked 2 ships in your docks: "Apple Pie" and "Freedom". I hope you have time to give them some loving imping . Thank you for this generous service.
  8. Yorkshire pudding recipe: typo: "...often servered with..." should be "...often served with..." sandwich recipe: mentions "cooked egg", but doesn't indicate it's another recipe you still need to discover (text is not in red, like the other non-discovered recipes). if you cook an egg the item you get is named "boiled egg" and not "cooked egg". I know boiled egg is the common term, but it could be confusing for non native English speakers to use two terms for the same item. Question: is the nutritional value set on each recipe? Or does your toons cooking/hot cooking skill also determine the nutritional value? The reason I ask: I've seen high ql dishes in the larder that, when examined, give the text "This has a high nutrition value." But when I make them with the test toon (very low cooking skill), the same dish gives the examine text "This has a medium nutrition value."
  9. Thank you for the fixes. I see now that Stew (meat) can't be made in a frying pan, cause meat+veg in frying pan makes a Meal (meat). Can you look into the water ratio of the Veg casserole recipe? 300% seems a bit on the low side. I tried that and got this text: "Not enough water, looks like it should use between 1920 and 2880 grams". Fresh milled flour is 0.30kg
  10. Finally made some time to go on the test server. Amount of recipes is mind boggling, thank you Tich and others for putting all this work and time into it. Here are some things I found: Missing a word here (probably "use"): "Target actions (e.g. ones you one item on another)" in CookBook menu. Recipes made in frying pan: stew (meat) isn't listed. If you try to sort recipe names in any of the "List of recipes that use <ingredient>" screens, the cookbook closes. Please show recipe names in ascending order by default in all the screens.
  11. I have Activate keybound and it used to work on the toolbelt, but not anymore. Could this please be fixed?
  12. Not sure if posted in right section (if not, then mods please move it). Please let us use the Repair keybind in the crafting window. You can already right-click on one of the loaded items and choose repair. The Repair keybind even works on the toolbelt items, seems an oversight that it's not working in the crafting window. Please have Wurm remember the position of the crafting window and what was loaded in it if you log out with the crafting window open and things loaded. Icing on the cake and maybe not easy: Please make an option to make the crafting window smaller. Maybe like this: (don't know how to embed a picture ) Thanks Ostentatio
  13. You can keybind spells now, but they are missing from the Key bindings page on the Wurmpedia. Nice project for someone to add them please?
  14. 1 No; those days are behind me. On PvE there's no neccessity to live in a large village with others anymore. Buying and maintaining your own deed has become very cheap. And over time you acquire more and more (high ql, rare, enchanted, expensive) stuff. You would need to really trust the mayor. 2 No; with the borked up/unclear permission settings, being in an alliance is a security risk. You would need to really trust your alliance members. 3 No; having your own deed is the only way to secure all your stuffs. 1 silver upkeep a month is a small price to pay for peace of mind. That said, I started out in large villages/alliance and had a lot of fun with the hustle and bustle of new players learning the game and helping them. It was very satisfying seeing them stay ingame, go premium and then in some cases found their own deeds nearby the main village. Akhenaten on Independance had at one point 19 satellite deeds of (former) villagers, who stayed in the alliance, and most of those deeds were on the NW side of Kinoss Bay. I trusted the mayor Flinter and the other co-mayors completely. My time there still hold the fondest memories, since we've had so many adventures together, starting way back on JK home (RIP, still miss you). I had a similar experience with my alt on Pristine at the Wurm Academy; also trust the mayor and alliance members, had a lot of fun helping the new players learn the game, lots of fond memories. My advise; if you are willing to spend a lot of time and effort into making this happen: Go for it! You will need a couple of experienced players who you can trust (for giving out permissions, writ access, general planning and vision etc.), a village/alliance forum where you can discuss things, where you can post the village rules, where new villagers can introduce themselves etc. And then invite new players into your village, help them love the game, build that community from the ground up. Don't let the poll outcome discourage you, cause it's only logical that most established players will not be willing to leave their deed and be a villager again. They've done that already when they started out.
  15. I was trying to load a Caravel the other day, getting frustrated by above mentioned problem myself. Then I found out there is a sweet spot for loading: for the Caravel it's the lowest section of the model (where the lifeboat is). 1. I turned the Caravel so that section has the dock underneath and not water, 2. Put the stuff I wanted to load in that spot, 3. Selected it, so it showed in the selectbar window, 4. Embarked as commander, 5. Loading time! It might be even possible that turning your Caravel is not neccessary (step 1) and just having it 1 tile next to the lowest section also work, but by then I didn't want to jinx the loading process by moving things lol.
  16. Hello Guardious, You've made some good observations from the new players perspective. This game is depending heavily on the community (aka players) to contribute on updating the Wurmpedia. The older players tend to forget how bewildering this game is when you just start out and are less prone to update information usefull for beginners in one Q&A. Also, they know how to search the wiki because they know "it's there somewhere, I've seen it before now where was it?" I've taken some time today to incorporate some of your suggestions and updated the Basic knowledge wikipage. It's under Tutorials and rules at the Wurmpedia startpage. Please take a look and if you have any more suggestions or comments, feel free to post them. Hopefully together we can all make this game better. I also hope you will give the game another try. The learning curve is steep, but if you like this kind of sandbox/crafting game, it has no equal in my humble opinion. I also hope one of the client devs will take a look at the default settings new players start with and fill them with some of the more usefull menubar items (like mainmenu, options, selected, target, timers, achievements). And can we have a toggle character window pretty please? With the new character customization and visible armor I like having it on screen while I mine or something.
  17. I'm concerned this turning Wild into a Freedom server and connecting them will be a bait and switch. When I hear things like "for the time being" or "until the chaos council comes up with a plan to revive Wild" then my answer will have to be "NO"! I don't want to end up with anything like a (new) rare resource only available in the pvp server/zone while there is item transfer (like Libila enchants or higher ql ore in the old JK-H days). That would make the pve-ers dependent on the pvp-ers to get it. So either it is the final plan: make Wild into a Freedom server, or first come up with a plan to revive Wild and present it to us all and ask how we feel about it. Rolf, I understand your commitment to many of your old-time customers on Wild. But don't forget that the growth lies in your pve customers. Please don't treat us like second class customers who have to do all the sacrificing to keep a few pvp-ers happy.
  18. I will also try my luck at whack-a-goddess, cya in a couple hours
  19. Have battlecow ready . Can do fighter or healer.
  20. Agreed. I've been impressed with the growth on Deliverance, but actually most surprised by the fact that Independence deed count hasn't dropped from pre-Deli numbers. That graph hasn't been updated since 9 March 2011 btw, unless you guys are looking at a different one then I am (http://freedom001.game.wurmonline.com/mrtg/villagecount.html). I don't know why it hasn't updated... Something unrelated: does Deliverance have a twitter feed?
