  1. Looking for 4speed. Ebeony or molten preferred but ill take any. Pm with how many you have and how much. I will pick up at coastal areas.
  2. They should be focusing on community driven updates. To bring players back. Instead of doing the opposite and doing their own thing and driving players away. I can barely count on one hand as to how many actually GOOD updates there have been in the last 2-3 years that actually peaked any interest. At least once or maybe even twice a month there should be something new, exciting, broken even to try. New reasons for people to play. New mobs, armors, metal types, ease of access to older items that aren't around anymore.
  3. I'll say the same thing that applied 10 or so years ago when this was going on... nobody is going to try and bash a WL that's practically within archery range and someone having a safe haven next to it. It's just plain stupid to have to deal with that for either side. That's why those limitations were in place in the first place. It's 1 sided. Instead of being equal.
  4. It's the first time it's happened to my knowledge. I was also around when they implemented the no deeding within the WL because it was dumb for either side to have a deed literally that close. That's why the "no deed and build zone" was implemented in the first place. To prevent someone taking "over" the WL by having a deed next to it to defend it while others bash it. Sure you could've been lucky, sure, but as for the reasons as to why stuff was implemented in the first place to prevent if I could put it in the bluntest way possible... borderline dumb then you'd be saying the same thing I'm saying. Because this is literally history repeating itself. Next time it gets bashed let's just say it will spawn in the token of final flame and yall wouldn't even bother doing anything because it'd be ontop of a minedoor on deed. So let's cut the KvK bs and actually fix a legitimate bug please. It was obviously overlooked for when it was to be bashed for the checks, and it should've not spawned there in the first place. Because that's why you normally cannot build towers or put a deed 46 tiles away from the WL.
  5. If you can't build in the area in the first place (which you can continue work on a deed with the current situation by the way to include placing minedoors on deed as seen with the progress on the deed) you shouldnt be able to continue building regardless while in the zone. Since you can't do anything off deed and inside the zone. first off.... As per the WU code there are no checks for deeds, but you can't place a deed like it currently is 46 tiles away from the White Light if you wanted to, unless youre super lucky with RNG and it spawns inside your local. Which the current deed is well within the area of the "no build/no deed" zone. The WL being bashed only checks for server borders and slopes mainly. Doesn't have anything in there about checking for deeds or influence. Which BOTH are things you CANNOT do within the area of the while whether it's 150 or 250 tile radius (don't know which ones tbh). Aka you can't build towers or drop a deed within the area. And the white light spawned in an area where there was a deed and influence. And it's not even a "oh you can just bash it" thing here because logically speaking it shouldn't of happened in the first place. As for why this post is being made, is because that is what the GMs said to do. So we're doing as directed. No challenging moderation here. Just making stuff that doesn't make sense make sense here.
  6. Sure. But time vs skill wise you get more fight skill(and overall skills) killing squishier mobs when you follow what I've said. Also more weaponskill. I mean to make it kind of make sense, if you want blacksmithing you're not going to sweet spot a large anvil right? You're going to sweetspot horse shoes or a tool you want to rare because it takes too much resources for a large anvil. Kind of the same concept. I can kill 10 things on the time it takes to kill 1-2 trolls. With far less effort. If a troll gives me .00005-.00007 fs a tick. I can kill 10 sheep which give me .000027 and I also gain more overall from it anyways. Versus just 1 troll. This is just far more efficient in the long run. You waste too much time especially on sleep bonus fighting trolls.
  7. If you need gear on NFI or SFI I'll hook you up as well. Including horse gear. For armor, studded is good, but I would only use it at around 50 fightskill. Or if you don't have anything else to use. But plate is the way to go because the damage reduction is the biggest thing you want especially if you're mounted. Pick a weapon you want to use, I'd recommend a medium 1 handed weapon like medium maul, large axe, or longsword first. General rule of thumb though when grinding fs mobs wise: Kill all blue and easy mobs first:sheep, cows, dogs, deer, wolves, and rats You do that until about 20-30 fs. Skip bison because they take took long to kill, save them for archery. From that point you can start adding the "medium tier mobs" aka bears, cave bugs, spiders, hell horses and goblins. You're expanded list should easily take you to about 60ish fs. Once you hit even 50, preferably 60 you can add scorpions, crocodiles, and hell hounds to your list. Skip the trolls as well, they do too much damage to you, and wreck your gear pretty quickly. Even past 70. Grind your archery on the trolls. If you follow this "list" you'll have 70 fs in no time. This is the fastest way to do it without having to stop and heal as much. Especially if you have a LT weapon. You're fairly balanced the whole way up to 70. Once you're done with fight skill. Like I said post 70 fs if you focus on weapon skills it'll gradually go up since it kind of hits a brick wall and the gains slow down a lot after 70. I would definitely pick any shield to shield train on as well. But if you only want 70 shield skill you can do brown bears from 40-70 quite easily. Same way @Camelriderstated with the explanation. Bison up to 40 as well. You want the 70 fs because the CR is what helps you. You don't get completely destroyed and it helps you block a little bit more having the fightskill to back up your shield skill. For archery your main focus is trolls and bison. Both have a low glance rate so you'll hit often = more skill. And they don't move around much, if at all. You can literally do archery this way all the way to 100 skill. I wouldn't waste your time or arrows on anything else.
  8. This. And let's not forget how frustrated the PvP side gets. Because we know way more mechanics in depth. And for example what should and shouldn't be possible to do. Literally any GM currently does not have that mechanical experience nor probably cares enough to even learn it when it would also benefit them. Some people know this game in and out like the back of their hand. Those that left or got removed from the GM positions that even remotely knew anything about the game, like actually, created a huge gap in the "game knowledge" section. Like Enki, some people will say he's biased, but when in fact he was probably the most unbiased GM that I've ever dealt with (which was a huge issue back then). He's also been around since the beginning of the game as well.
  9. 1-70 fight skill is very easy. But then if you're looking at 70-90+ it just comes with time. I would start grinding weaponskills rather than looking at the fighting skills. Than before you know it, you'll have 90+. But Sindusks guide will tell you everything you need to know about CR, since he's the one who wrote it and implemented it anyways lol.
  10. Sure, but this is where the tracing back goes into play. I'm also pretty sure in regards to, like the staff chat leaks and whatnot, any youtube videos of it were reported by the team or by the company itself. And the discord portion is a no go because the game rules still apply on the wurm online official discord. Reddit I'm unsure of solely because I don't use it. And Twitter is Meh because this game doesn't have enough traction for anyone to remotely care. You'd basically be talking to yourself on Twitter. And as for the tracing back for example. If x says something against the rules like challenging moderation on their discord, y can ban you both on discord and ingame over what was said in discord. Sometimes, and I've seen it happen personally, where people got bans countless of times and a couple of permanent bans over stuff said in discord. Do I think the rules need a tiny bit more freedom for the players? Of course. But will it happen? Probably not because of how soft the world is today and nobody can actually take, all they can do is give. If that makes any sense... and also I'd say that having any criticism for this small of a team, is really good because it weeds out any b.s. and you as a customer are being straightforward with what you want/dont want/like/dislike. Since as a company, and for just about any company, the customer comes first and "the customer is always right" (with some logic behind it to make it valid) should be a priority. But as you can see for the pvp community... I won't even bother wasting my breath on that side. But yeah I hope you get the point on the bans and stuff. Also what votip said, if you even say something... basically can easily get yourself banned.
  11. Because according to the rules. It would be considered challenging a moderator. And people don't want to lose years of work because they want to say a GM sucks at their job or did their job wrong. Because people can trace it back with some minor digging or it just doesn't take that much effort. Criticism isn't allowed in Wurm Online if you really look at it because of that rule specifically. Borderline censorship...? I'm only saying this because people have been banned or even temp banned on either the forums or ingame or both.
  12. Affinity Loss and fight skill should be a thing. People should only gain random affinities. Should be an end game goal
  13. I'll be there to help with all the stations on Grombrindal! I'll also bring my vynora priest as well. Looking forward to this event!
  14. I feel like you shouldn't lose any affinities. But instead only gain them. Everyone should have at a min/max of 50% to lose their stuff. I feel like that would definitely entice way more people.
  15. So in regards to the timers, yes they do suck at lower levels, but once you grind (which isn't hard at all right now) and hit the 85 mark even for some skills it's SIGNIFICANTLY easier. It is also why you see just about every single pvp account on wurm node with 80-95+ skills in gather skills and deed building related skills. Just to the bare minimum of 90 at a base takes only a few months unless you want to focus on one thing
  16. The primary purpose of PvP is to kill other players and destroy their structures, whether its kingdom/deed based or the players themselves. A lot of it is also perceived based on what X kingdom wants to accomplish against Z kingdom. Not every kingdom also goes out of their way to try and destroy anything and everything that is in their way. Obviously you will always have a faction that somehow (idk how or why personally) finds enjoyment of wiping/pushing kingdoms back to their starter islands. It comes down to finding the PvP community that suits you and fits your goals. Defiance was created for that specially, to give you a specific time slot to allow the enemy to potentially raid you. To your surprise, it's not always the case either. This is where if you join an already established group, it's far easier to maintain a "casual" gameplay. People on the PvE side tend to create homesteads on a PvP server, because they're used to doing it. Which is fine, but also you're shooting yourself in the foot because that person will probably not play after they die the first time because once the enemy finds you, they'll already know you're from freedom and you make yourself an easy target based of simply how you build your deed. Also people get really attached to items, which I understand completely, but I always express to not get attached to anything because you will lose it at some point either in PvP or a raid. Everything IS replaceable. But I'll say this again: Defiance was created for that specially, to give you a specific time slot to allow the enemy to potentially raid you. This ties into what I said above kind of. How we build deeds on a PvP server is drastically different than what 99% of the people on PvE build deeds. The goal of a deed on a PvP server is to not get drained, so the enemy can't steal/take your stuff. So you have to build it so it doesn't take them 10 minutes to punch a hole to your token and walk in basically. If you're not online, and you live by yourself, of course you will probably lose everything you didn't log out with. This is why again, playing with an established group helps this situation. Making massive dirt walls can be tiresome, and not aesthetically pleasing, but you can always polish a turd and make it look somewhat presentable. You'd be surprised how long roads/highways that are created by PvPers last. Also a good PvPer knows the map terrain and actually avoids roads if possible, granted there aren't many, but at the end of the day they are not necessary on a PvP server since the culture of PvP doesn't charge or do "trades" so to speak unless its like drake/scale (mainly on chaos). The starter islands, however, do have roads and deeds. MR starter island I can speak for and is highly developed in that aspect, but outside of it, we still have roads, but I even personally don't use the roads because I simply know the terrain. I have no idea what you mean by this? If it's regarding king? PvP players want an active king is all, not someone who logs in to swap titles around and is never seen, ever. The benefits it gives seem wasted at that point. -hope that answer that? This is why the PvP community as a whole is asking to consolidate into one server for various reasons. Talking, helping out, etc. yes it still happens and the communities are big enough, but you're also a lot closer to your kingdom. the trading I wouldn't even consider as 99% of the kingdoms across all pvp servers don't trade unless it's drake/scale (on chaos) It's not more so the chasing or trying to kill you. The PvE toxicity comes from very dumb if you ask me situations. Personally, I've been subject to things as far as: Not being as active the on Freedom side, and then my deed disbands, 1 hour later someone deeds over my mine entrance and now I can't leave my own mine because I'm walled in, or can't even get out because everything around me is on a deed except for where my buildings were. If a new player is working on a area they want to deed (this happened at the start of NFI ALL THE TIME, some bozo would literally walk up, drop a deed and walk away. People create MASSIVE deeds with years of upkeep screwing newer players from building a deed in that area. Grinding woodcutting is the biggest thing, there are too many stupid little subrules on freedom first off (throwing it out there) in regards to what people can claim and what you can/cannot do. I was woodcutting/clearcutting off my deed between various deeds that were inactive during the time and never spoke to/seen anyone. Next day I log in, GM's are posting signs and I'm basically threatened to get banned over something so stupid (if you ask me) just because I was clear cutting an orange tree forest. - This is like 5+ years back, still true today. That's just personal experience. But I've seen people steal from each other on Freedom, stealing dragons/uniques, fighting over uniques, a lot of it is repeatable. On freedom, if you look at someone and they don't like how you look at them, you can get reported for it (not actually kidding, it has happened to people before). Also, all of the "subrules" were created because of freedom, and the amount of tickets GM's were getting at that time in regards to and I'll keep saying this, but dumb situations that they got tired of dealing with, so the GM's just made it an official "rule" aka I'll still call it a "subrule".
  17. Affinities/Fighting Skill are separate on defiance vs NFI. You don't lose your NFI affinities ever... Gear is easy to replace as I stated in the post above. It comes down to simply asking the question in regards to random things like that. But I'll just say to not over think it because you probably are. There were a bunch of PvP guides, some were extensive with information, some weren't as bad with information overload. There definitely needs to be an updated one. And also needs to be more of a Q&A of the current servers. Which I might work on personally in the next upcoming weeks. But yes, I can see where you're coming from. My recommendation would ALWAYS to find the main group in each kingdom and try and join up with them. Because that's where all the ingame knowledge sits at for that kingdom.
  18. These are the most common answers I've always seen throughout in regards to PvP. The PvE community has been historically far more toxic than pvp has ever been. Like actually, vs the passionate side of the PvPers. The most basic and simple example I'll give is that your kingdom on PvP will 9/10 times help you without charge with gear on the PvE side. Nobody charges each other for gear on the PvP side because you all work together for your goals/gear. Also the extent of how far people go over their deeds and even undeeded land on PvE servers is beyond dumb would be the absolutely biggest example. The loss of skills only really sucks if you're a higher end account. Or if you're higher fightskill (90+). But people "think" it's far worse than it actually is. In regards to the items, it literally takes me less than 5 minutes to create a full set of armor at around 75ql and maybe another 5 minutes to create weapons and a shield 75-80ql. Which is a bare minimum. Unsure of where you are getting Clunky mechanics from? The PvP side of the house is FAR more experienced and like 20,000x more knowledgeable than any PvE'r when it comes to the game itself as well. Defiance was actually created to help the "casuals" so to speak. I myself am now a casual because I don't have the time like I used to to dedicate 12+ hours a day to the game anymore. I play about 25% of that (if that) and still hold up/do more than a lot of people with 12+ hours of game play a day. If we're getting raided I'll definitely dedicate a bit more. Are there still hardcore turbonerds that will try and do anything and everything to try and win? Of course, every game has them, even Wurm has those types of players. But if your towers get destroyed, does it suck? Yes of course it does, but with a solid group you can either let the enemy destroy it or go and take a fight to stop it. Or use it to fix the placement of all your towers if they go hard on destroying towers. Everything in the game is replaceable, even something like a tower is. Also how you see it as well. A lot of people, myself included, see it as more free skill. Also this type of stuff gives you more of a sense of purpose when you do things. Also you can never forget about caffeine, and being on a pvp server as well and the advantages you get of being a part of 2 servers. Fatigue and restlessness are separated on PvE and PvP. 12 hours of fatigue and 5 hours on the PvE side and another set of the same thing on the PvP side. The reward part is definitely what you make of it. The most rewarding part of it all comes down to the community you're with and what you do. Personally, I've left the dominant winning kingdom and went to MR when it was completely dead and had internal issues within it self. I helped turn that kingdom around completely into a kingdom that is actually able to hold its own and holding JK to only getting past our first dirt wall. I see that as a massive accomplishment. And for me, to see someone develope the knowledge and fortitude is what's rewarding. For some people it's getting a kill simply, getting their gear. It really depends on what YOU see as rewarding. This is a sandbox MMO and at the end of the day the content is what the player makes of it. A lot of these answers are me actually being genuine. A 100% of the PvE community makes these assumptions without actually giving PvP ever a try. Then it kind of spreads like a wildfire, how every PvE'r hates PvP without actually giving it a good try.
  19. Put me down for weaponsmithing, blacksmithing, chain/plate smirking, shield smithing, leatherworking, fletching for my alt grombrindal. I'll also offer up my bene vyn for casting 90+ channeling.
  20. We already tried if you look at Oblivionnreavers post above. It was basically a "were gunna talk" that probably never actually happened. Then proceeded to get ignored. Just like this thread is going to as well most likely. They don't care enough about their community anymore. Everyone is put on a back burner for God knows how long because resource nodes are what will keep this game afloat.... not anything the community sees as an issue and trying to make it easier for them to manage. But hey, resource nodes are that dire player retention
  21. It's cool to see this thread and I whole heartedly agree with all of it. But they'll just make it pay to transfer anyways and turn it into a money grab regardless of what we think. Or won't do anything that we as a player base wants because the agenda is going to be game store items that you buy because it's simple and easy to make money off of.
  22. This game seriously just turned into a money grab, and you can't even critique anyone anymore because with this new generation of people they can't be told to do a better job anymore. Then people are going to act surprised when nobody is playing this game anymore. Instead of building off of it, you choose to make it worse or act like it didn't happen or even to the complete opposite of what is asked. What ever happened to doing updates for the community instead of a completely separate agenda that nobody wants or cares for? Wurm Online won't be getting a single dollar from me anymore, plus I can speak for good chunk of the wurm pvp community who essentially gets pushed to the side or straight up ignored. I would also say to not be surprised when the game starts losing it's value because people, if you can't tell already are getting seriously fed up with the b.s updates and constant "shop" updates. I don't even want to log in anymore because there's nothing new or exciting, literally all the recent updates have been nothing but boring or not up to par of what the potential could be. The potential of a merge was what kept a lot of people going or coming back, but the game already lost that momentum, and they lost it HARD. Like I said before, and I'll say it again it's all a money grab at this point.
