  1. Keep the light but remove any way of finding out exactly who/how many are doing the rift.
  2. Why?

Because it just is. There is no reason, it just is. Closure is a human trait that could be viewed as a fault.
  3. Is this to try cover the loss of income from declining premium subscriptions?
  4. I think he raises some potentially valid points. More importantly I think most of this community are completely blinded by their obsession for the game. I don't mean it rudely, but being all like "nuu my wurmie is perfect I play everyday and always will <3 XD" isn't helping anything. The aim is the make the game better, not criticize it just to be an ass.
  5. An idea taken from another thread. Chests that spawn randomly around the map and contain random loot. Could arrange the loot into 3 tiers that goes up in rarity. Top tier would be something like moonmetal, drake pieces of varying weight, 1 rare bone. Second and third tier could be high ql tools or weapons with enchants. The idea is to encourage more exploration and map travel. Edit: Don't make the chests ridiculously rare, just make the top tier reward rare.
  6. The focus animation is hilarious. Thank you, I look forward to seeing everyone doing this at dragon slayings.
  7. Vid please. Is this on the unstable client?
  8. +1 Been meaning to suggest this for ages. Anything to speed up dragging and moving items around in the UI is definitely needed.
  9. Asking to switch engines on a game this old is like asking to switch the frame of a house that's been built for 20 years. You can't just swap it out for a different one, you'd have to pretty much redesign the entire game with the new engine in mind.
  10. If you mean a seperate action that allows you to mine out a tile in one 5 minute long action, I dont see why that wouldn't be too unreasonable if the requirement was at a certain mining skill level perhaps. It would make tunnel making a bit easier and less tedious, which I think is just one of the steps wurm must take in order to make the game a little more friendly to potential newcomers if it wants to do better at retaining players. It could be like the level action for mine floor tiles. Mine carts would nice.
  11. Terrain height makes catapulting very hard, as does multiple floors on a building, all of which are used in deed defences on pvp servers.
  12. The irc thing uses twitter, pretty sure anyway. Yeah twitter for deed alerts needs to go too. Ontop of that locate soul on the condition the maps made a little smaller if there were a new map. Also if you make a new map please ask Notch to do it even though he's a billionaire living in LA now. Him and Rolf are still pals right?
  13. I haven't read the whole thread, but I'd like to make some points. The paradigm of raiding has evolved drastically overtime. Back in 2007-2009 you'd mostly only raid to drain a deed and loot what you can get from what houses you can breach. Since then defenses have become much more complex and tedious to breach through players naturally using all mechanics they can in their favour such as surface mining the token down into a pit, mine doors every other tile below dirt walls. These things never used to be a part of deed designs so raiding took way less time. This has made raids more of a mass operation where if you're raiding a place, you're gonna be there for a long time and have to do alot of damage to the place. Another thing that's changed is loot, chaos server is pretty much at end game phase right now. The capitals of some of the biggest kingdoms have extremely valuable loot. Valuables in wurm hold RL monetary value, some being worth hundreds possibly thousands in large amounts like moon metal, drake, scale, the artifacts. There's not alot you can do about this, you cannot take it away from the game, but you can make it so its not possible to hide it away completely from enemies. With the risk being greater, you'd likely see less loot being on chaos, but there'd still be more loot to get from raiding since it's just too inconvenient to have all of it locked up on freedom. There's plenty ideas in this thread to make raiding easier and loot less easy to permanently secure on logged off alts or merchants. With these changes there'd be more reason to raid places and it'd be less boring. I also think raiding should serve some other purpose. I was thinking maybe draining deed tokens successfully contributes to some server wide kingdom success league or something, strictly for raiding nothing to do with the current kingdom success stuff from slaying kingdom officials. Being ontop of the league table for raiding could give some sort of bonus that comes with a con to prevent snowballing an already overpowered kingdom, maybe being ontop means their deeds are huge targets due to a quadruble drain amount or something lucrative. That's raiding out the way, there also needs to be pvp changes but I'm kinda bored of typing. Edit, One last idea I had, chaos needs to be reset theres no arguing that, but when it does hota needs to be changed in where or how its placement works because right now most kingdoms are all only interested in huddling close to hota, the entire west coast of chaos is kinda pointless to settle in because if you want to actively attend hota you'll need to make a route there thats secure. Another mechanic to make more of the map used could be creating area buffs for citizens of deeds that are placed in that area. For example, split the map into 4 sqaures with 2 imaginary lines going horizontally and vertically through the middle. Apply a useful buff to each of those 4 areas, none overpowering the other and any deeds founded there give citizens of that deed a buff. Perhaps in order to stop kingdoms from just having multiple deeds in each quadrant to have atleast some of their citizens benefiting from all the buffs, make it so a kingdom can only benefit from the bonuses of where the capital is.
  14. I think the meditation action timer should be reduced to 1 minute. 1.5 - 2 minutes is a bit long to be waiting for an action to end that is only being performed to grind up. Also, I personally think after a failed meditate action (no skill tick) you should be able to immediately meditate again and the cooldown timer should not kick in until a skill tick happens.
  15. Perhaps name changes can be something to submit to a GM (maybe a specific GM given the task of dealing with name changes). Once it's made certain after some investigation theres no shady alterior motives behind the name change, it's granted. And maybe add a small ingame cost to it, so it's not something to be taken lightly.
  16. Oh I missed that post, think I've seen that gif before.
  17. Now I just wanna see the last one that got removed.
  18. Just add a confirmation window.
  19. downtime

Normally we'd get 5 hours sleep bonus for something like this, or did they stop doing that?
  20. They can do a rollback which rewinds the server to before it started acting up. And this is usually something they'd give 5hrs sleep bonus for. please devs thank you
  21. Chaos Twitter 7m ago, The server is shutting down in 30 seconds. Reason: Console initiated shutdown. Take it that means accounts are offline now and its getting fixed.
