  1. I didn't know you personally, but I always known you to be one of the wisest individuals on these forums. I hope you stick around. Even if it's just to share your knowledge. You're one of the very few people I'd say this to.
  2. In order of best missions to worst missions: Sacrifice Missions. Creation Missions. Kill "X" Animals Missions. Avatar Gift Missions. Ritual Missions. Sac "X" Valrei Missions. Animal Traitor Missions. Epic Build Missions. Tree Traitor Missions. I would personally prefer to see less of the bottom three, and more of the top three. Sacrifice Missions are by far the most valued and everybody gets excited in Indy chat whenever a feasible one comes up. I know they do this to a certain point already, but I would also like to see many more varying difficulties of the missions, this way some of the actually 'fun' missions stay up a little longer for everybody to have a chance to enjoy, such as: Very Easy Sacrifice: Sacrifice 18 decent <30 Skill required to create items> Easy Sacrifice: Sacrifice 40 decent <30 Skill required to create items> Normal Sacrifice: Sacrifice 108 decent <Any skill required to create items> Hard Sacrifice: Sacrifice 416 decent <Any skill required to create items> Very Hard Sacrifice: Sacrifice 832 decent <Farmed items, or relatively easy to create items.> Insane Sacrifice: Sacrifice 1664 decent <Farmed items, or relatively easy to create items.> Very Easy Creation: Create 4 <50 Skill required to create items.> Easy Creation: Create 8 <40 Skill required to create items.> Normal Creation: Create 16 <30 Skill required to create items> Hard Creation: Create 40 <30 Skill required to create items> Very Hard Creation: Create 60 <Any skill required to create items.> Insane Creation: Create 120 <Relatively easy to create items.> I'd rather wake up to see my mission list filled with missions like these, than the traitor or build missions that nobody ever does.
  3. Please send the 99.50ql and 98.14ql Woodcutting potions to Dairuka, thank you good sir.
  4. Wurm 2016

Reading certain member's posts in this thread gives me a headache. I can't imagine how much this hurts the brains of people who have real degrees (ie. Not BA's) and can actually program. I feel bad for you Keenan... Warlander... Buddha... I don't always agree with you, but I honestly for god's sake feel for you having to wade through the text equivalent of verbal diarrhea.
  5. Wurm 2016

Demondan, most of what that not so anonymous man said on that video I agree with. I believe most of it is true. It seems our opinions differ. I bid you good day, good sir.
  6. Truer words have never been spoken. The joke is in the meta.
  7. I think they're already doing a very good job reducing the number of old players that're jumping ship. After the initial drop that came between October and December - the number of people leaving has shrunk from a flood, to a trickle. That's actually why I tout December as the most important month of patching Wurm has ever had. That was essentially adapt or die, and it was no coincidence people stopped leaving in early December right when the patches started flowing.
  8. My first three days in Wurm were also my worst three days in Wurm. It wasn't until I joined Roanoke and played alongside Damnyankee and Manowarfan that I got really hooked on Wurm. The sense of community was important. The game is much easier to get into nowadays, but sometimes I can still read frustration in the words of people just getting into Wurm and failing to find purpose. That's also partly our fault. We need to continually emphasize the importance of joining a village to newer players. It really does make Wurm more palatable.
  9. We were just talking about this in Global. How everybody had a different story about how they stumbled into Wurm Online. With the exclusion of the invasions, this appears to be the most common story - "I saw someone talk about in a forum post", "I randomly clicked a link on MMORPG.com's list", "I googled for Adult Minecraft" Wurm Online is a much better game than it used to be. It's not mainstream by any measure, but it's definitely got more appeal to a wider spectrum of players than it did even six months ago. https://docs.google.com/document/d/1vITEC7jweYBMvTI9ABOwD-fddIa9iP4Cc8Sj9Rve_Vs/edit
  10. Despite the predictions being made by many people on the forums, I remain cautiously optimistic that the current state of Wurm Online is ready for prime time. Latency issues and server positioning aside - travel has never been more appealing; the game's level of customization and openness to creativity has never been more accessible; and the potential for new innovations remains as high as ever. December's recent change in focus to a mantra of, "Punishment does not equal Challenge" has proven successful in stemming the blood loss of accounts, however, we're still at a critical juncture in this game's existence. Morale remains at an all time low, and people are continuously talking about the potential of the game's death. I don't agree. However, I don't want to see Wurm stagnate at an average of 400 players online at any given time either. There needs to be a long conversation about advertising, and the conversation needs to include everybody on these forums, and in game. People need to believe again, and it's up to CodeClub AB to make us believe. To the community as a whole. If you were in CodeClub AB's position, and you had a game that you know would attract a large quantity of niche players that are hopelessly suffering through games like Xsyon and Mortal Online. What would you do to advertise to them? How would you convince players who've left Wurm 5 years ago while it was still trying to figure out what it wanted to be, to come back and try Wurm out again?
  11. Ah, I wrote it down as a decimal and not as a percent. That'd be where the error is. Excuse me while I correct that, and fix the odds. Thank you for the correction. I didn't even notice the mistake. I also didn't factor in the "recast bonus", so those odds are only for the fresh cast. All recasts will have differing, but better odds from the bonus.
  12. Dey durk eor jeeeeerbs! DERK AUR JEERBS! DERK A JERBs!
  13. It's for the best. It had malformed hindlegs, and was constantly hungry. Nobody wanted to put the time in to cast Genesis on it. Now if it were a phone applet that ran Wurm Online on your tablet... that'd be a different story.
  14. Everything I say is a reference. I don't care if you don't get it. Your lack of understanding is neither my fault, nor my problem. Try to make it my problem, and I'll make you a future reference.

  15. Half of the people in this thread don't even play Wurm Online anymore - they just trash talk the forums.
  16. Wurm population

Were Wurm Online a stock, now would be the time to buy in. Expect growth.
  17. I'll just come up with another design they never intended. What's new?
  18. Wurm population

I was going to say you're 100% correct until the drama llama takes over, but you already listed that. Wurm Online is still a safe bet, as opposed to the untested, relatively new servers of Wurm Unlimited. They could be ghost towns like 7 Days to Die in a matter of six months after release. They could be around for the next decade. It's too early to tell. What I do know, is even the best run private servers have issues with administration. Wurm Online's strength is it's permanence and security.
  19. Wurm population

That kind of reputation takes time. Much more time than Wurm Unlimited has existed. Until such a reputation can be established, every single server is a gamble.
  20. Wurm population

Wurm Unlimited offers a great short term, no obligations style of gameplay. This is great if you're looking for a quick fix, but nothing substantial. Perfect for PvP. Wurm Online offers the permanence and security that non-sanctioned servers on WU servers can't provide.
  21. Don't have a deedplanner - but I do have functional. This is my magnum opus. Nothing else I can do in game will be able to top the functionality and utility of this building. 3 x 3 building. 10 floors high currently. Build every tile as an opening, including the middle ones. Once you have the desired height, leave only the top middle opening. Bash down every middle opening until you have a perfect view of the center from the bottom. Then add your desired BSB's, Forges, Ovens, FSB's, Large Anvils, Looms, Wagons, Carts, Boats. Then enjoy what I call storage heaven. Everything is accessible from the bottom floor. Everything.
  22. Sometimes the oldest ideas are the best ideas. I loved cooking in Everquest.
