  1. June's seen a pickup. Servers seem more full than they used to. I think they realized that actual content is a good way to get people back. The rifts, despite their problems are nice start.
  2. So far this observation has been 100% correct with no variance. The "Rift Reported" event happens precisely after 7 days of server up-time starting directly at the "Rift Shutting" event. The actual "Rift Opening" event occurs after 9 days of server up-time starting directly at the "Rift Shutting" event. If my theory is correct based on this observation: [09:41:20] The Rift that has plagued Independence has been shut! Independence's next "Rift Reported" event should occur on Thursday, June 23rd at 9:41:20am MST (4:41:20pm GMT) Independence's next "Rift Opening" should occur on Saturday, June 25th at 9:41:20am MST (4:41:20pm GMT) Please note, the Twitter Tweet is inaccurate. The game only cares about server time, therefore it's based on when the event: [07:16:24] A new Rift has been reported! What all of this information means is:
  3. Goodbye

You were one of the good ones. See you around buddy. Have fun on Fin's server.
  4. Rift Week 6/14

From the way it seems, the "rift reported" seems to occur at exactly the same time the last rift was closed on the server. The "rift opening" happens two days after the opening, making each event occur precisely 9 days after the last time it was closed. The last one was closed at Tuesday, June 7th at 8:34am MST (3:34pm GMT) for Independence, so I'm betting the next rift will actually start on Thursday, June 16th at 8:34am MST (3:34pm GMT). Eventually the times will reach a point where other people can participate, because it generally takes up to an hour, maybe more, to close an event. Then, like clockwork, it'll return to a time when nobody except the hardcores would be willing to stay up for it. I'm confident enough that I'm betting the next rift after this one will likely be on Saturday, June 25th at 9:44am MST (4:44pm GMT), assuming it takes us an hour and ten minutes to finish Thursday's rift like it did last Tuesday's.
  5. At least they got the PvP games list right. They didn't waste time trying to pander to the loud, yet miniscule and long forgotten FFA-PvP community of Mortal Online and Darkfall.
  6. I did pretty well for someone who was tanking. My decent shield skill made me pretty hard to kill unless there were three or more mobs on me. In which case I was kiting. I still think that points should be determined by how much damage you do, how many times you parry/block, certain spells cast, and how much you heal other people for. My poor healers got the biggest shaft of the fight, because they were too busy healing and not fighting enough. (My healer was the only one who got below "Good" rating, and people tell me that healing gives you points? Pfft. Yeah right. My Vynora priest was only used for flanking and he doubled in points to my Nahjo who hung back and healed [and healed a lot] in comparison. I think he only got points for the first wave, when he was used to help flank.)
  7. If they were smart, they'd give us 5 hours sleep bonus, and a trinket decoration.
  8. Loot Boxes suck. I'm still hoping they'll throw 5 hours sleep bonus onto the pile, just to placate the whiners though.
  9. Y19 X29, it's directly on Hillside Hideout on the map.
  10. Some of us... are insane enough to enjoy the thought of Nogumps in our life. Have you accepted Nogump into your heart recently?
  11. For the developers trying to keep the servers up after patching:
  12. Freedom ppl: "You're both right." *Goes back to grinding*
  13. Thank you. My biggest fear is that this kid, who clearly ****ed up, attracts the attention of the wrong crowd and gets himself doxxed, fired, or worse. The judges are ruling in the right favor, this kid is going to get punished. The kid probably won't learn his lesson, but it's not our job to be executioner. Vigilantism should be left only for cases where justice isn't being served. This is a case where justice is. I'm impressed with how well CodeClub AB is responding to this. You guys are learning your lessons from past griefings and account scams well.
  14. Praise be to our lord Magaric! Smite this pox that claims your crown! Hail to the king baby.

  16. To me personally, it's like a high score. Get enough score, and you get a free extra life. (1 month subscription)
  17. I'm biased, so I'd be a bad judge. If you want my opinion though. I'd say it's three times slower than blacksmithing, but twice as fast as weaponsmithing. I personally put it on par with Metallurgy. Channeling levels similarly to a creation skill.
  18. Hell, I use Toymaking religiously already, predominantly because I have access to multiple alts that can constantly create shafts and strings en masse. I still suggest people who have multiple alts to get into doing it, because of the relative cheapness of the materials required to create Yoyos in comparison to both Wemp and Iron costs for both Door Locks and Coordage Rope. Of course, this still isn't balanced considering the fact that it takes multiple alts to get any real value out of Toymaking. You could always remove the RNG feature of Carving Shafts and Yoyo Making, and have it directly tied in to the QL of the logs/shafts while having the QL of each capped by the skill level of the Carpenter/Toymaker. That alone would effectively double or triple the value of Toymaking in a single change. A 90ql log with a 40 skill carpenter will result in a 40ql shaft every time. A 90ql log with a 90 skill carpenter results in a 90ql shaft every time. A 90ql shaft with a 40 skill Toymaker results in a 40ql Yoyo. A 90ql shaft with a 90 skill Toymaker results in a 90ql yoyo. Watch the flood of Toymakers pour in. Another alternative is to admit how ridiculous the skill requirements for Toymakers is, and just give us more favor for Yoyos as a blanket buff. As for Nahjo? Cropsac is OP. (But Libila knew that already.) His spell list walks a fine line: Nahjo is arguably the best PvE priest and the worst PvP priest. Developer oversight is a necessity, and I'm disappointed you guys let this go on for so long when we've raised red flags about this issue since day one of his spell list/saccable's discoveries. Good luck balancing Nahjo without overnerfing him. Hes essentially Wurm Online's version of League of Legends' Udyr + Innervating Locket. One wrong change and the account dropoff will be substantial.
  19. The only issue with the STP system I've found thus far, is the low value for both Religion and Channeling. It may have something to do with the fact that Channeling is listed as a 4000 difficulty modifier, which doesn't capture the actual difficulty of the skill. (No imping, fixed difficulties, fixed timers, no access to CoC, very limited capability to create a sweet spot.) You're essentially counting it the same as Blacksmithing, despite having none of the advantages. It's effectively a slower Creation Skill without access to CoC items. It could be listed as a 2000 difficulty modifier, and still be twice as difficult as Blacksmithing is.
  20. She doesn't even go here!
  21. Lufia II... now that brings back good memories. First game I ever cried to. That ending was... =(

  23. I kind of miss having a huge alliance, but then I remember all of the drama that occurs as a result of humans being humans. I'm pretty content being solo, and using Global and Freedom as my outlets for social interaction - predominantly because I don't have time to deal with other people's interpersonal issues.
