If the realism of needing to fill multiple measuring cups and not just having a measuring cup that measures out precisely .31591 kg. of liquid is what they are going for then what you wrote here: "Grab my 2kg, 1kg, and 0.5kg measuring jugs, grab a barrel full of water... Activate water, rightclick the stack of jugs, and 'fill' them." Seems like a pretty innovative and solid way to make it less tedious while keeping the realism. +1

Birch sap wine. That sounds really cool. I'd like to try some IRL but that would be a cool game item too. In Alaska (where I am from) syrup is the main use I've heard of.

Sorry but your wording made it very unclear what you were trying to say. Point stands that almost nobody used birch for appearance even when those systems were in place on the vast majority of wooden items. Feels less like you are responding to my suggestion and more like you are trying to derail this thread to bring attention to your personal pet issue, and I don't appreciate that. There is no reason both of these things couldn't be done, but I don't think your suggestion is really very relevant to a type of tree nobody wants to use for appearance anyway. Also given maple sap/syrup already exists my suggestion is mainly a cut and paste of existing code. It's not going to set back any other changes that could be done by trees by any significant amount. Especially when one idea is all code and the other would be 95% the art team's project.

What is the point? The appearance? Appearance doesn't even show on most items anymore and when it did I didn't know many people intentionally using birch. The hot commodity back then was cherrywood.

There is no point to planting birch over any other type of woodbearing trees. However birch syrup is a thing IRL. Make birches give syrup like maples. They'd still be a bit less useful than maples because of the fact that maples are better for arrows but they'd actually be comparable in usefulness instead of just a trash tree.

You don't get participation points if you afk. You get participation points for helping kill monsters. So I don't understand your argument at all. My suggestion would allow people to leave the rift / go offline and still be rewarded for the participation points they earned actively fighting at the rift. Not afk the whole time and get rewards. Also, while I haven't tested it. I believe that if I earned my points and then AFKed in a pen or safehouse that is in local range that I would get my rewards. After all people who are healing up in the safehouse after a rift still get their rewards. It was either leaving the area of the rift or being offline that denied me my rewards. Not sure if it was one, the other, or both.

I just waited all day for a rift. When I got there someone had stolen all the horses and locked them in their own locked house. So after my horse died I decided I'd get 60 participation points (the points needed for the max rank. Whatever comes after "good") and then leave. So I did so. After I left my internet died. When I got back on the Rift was over and I had no reward. Had my internet crashed right at the end of the rift after I decided to stick it out would I still have been stiffed my reward? So my suggestion to you is simple. If you attend a rift and get the needed points for the a reward you should get that reward. It should not matter if you are offline. It shouldn't matter if you leave the rift. People who show up late get rewards so why not people who leave early? If you show up and earn the needed participation points for a reward, you get one.

I think reducing premium back to the old prices is actually a good idea. Monthly subs are a hard thing to sell people on, and even harder when they can go play a private server for free. I disagree that it wouldn't bring in new players. I know with the new players I was helping setup near where I was premium was a huge issue that was making them lean toward WU instead.

I think the sad reality is that Wurm has been doing a smart move in focusing on their primary customer base. That primary customer base is freedom. Given the population size of epic and chaos at this point it's fairly clear that doing things the jeopardize the success of freedom to appease people who want PvP is a really bad idea. Chaos is always going to have some players because of it's connection to freedom. Epic is dying. I would rather get my PvP fix somewhere else and enjoy freedom from time to time then see them devote much more time and effort into interesting PvPers in a game that is quickly loosing out to more appealing PvP titles. Maybe I'll even play chaos eventually when my freedom character is much stronger.
