  1. First off, who is buying 1000 wagons or 500 wagons or even 100 wagons? There are like 200 unique people that play wurm these days.
  2. You come no where near to representing 100% of the pvp community. I denounce threads asking for ezmode, yes. I denounce threads that beg the devs to dumbdown wurm and over complicate the sandbox, yes. I denounce redundant suggestions that already have solutions in place and the players are too lazy or not coordinated enough to utilize them. You quite obviously have no idea what you are talking about when you make claims this is impossible to stop. Is it inconvenient, maybe. Impossible, no. It may have been made more difficult since the bastardization of Chaos after I left the server but again I blame the current "pvpers" for that. Your greed and envy is so transparent here and should not be rewarded with changes to the game. Now that we have determined math is not your strong point, be a good little gladiator and go back to fighting instead of trying to solve a non-existent economic problem.
  3. Or just leave it the way it is and people just suck it up and stop whining. There is a viable pvp solution to the problem, if you aren't committed enough to follow through then that's on you, the game doesn't need to change.
  4. Of course you can stop it, you just choose not to so you beg the devs to do it for you. Your method is pretty simple, just like your argument, if its too hard to figure out or too time consuming just ask the devs to make it easy for you. The bigger problem here is that the devs actually indulge these whining babies.
  5. So the possibility of someone making silver is preventing you from enjoying pvp? That's your argument? Really? Envious much?
  6. Why is anyone complaining about someone making a pmk ? How does it negatively affect anyone in this game? Are the kingdoms on chaos so lazy and weak these days they have to lobby the devs to change the rules again to stop something they might not like instead of solving the problem in game? Is it that hard for you to drain a 1 man kingdom till it disbands? Is remembering when to drain it everyday too tough? If someone is willing to spend 150 silver, 1 gold to found the kingdom and 2 silver per new alt, on Wurm to get a silly looking wagon and banners where is the harm in that? If they manage to keep the kingdom long enough to get the artwork patched in they deserve to do whatever they want with the wagons and banners. If one fakes the 25 accts with newbie premium accts to make the pmk they are going to be very very weak against established kingdoms. If you disagree with someone simply using their kingdom for this there is an immediate pvp solution, drain the token and enjoy the free silver. None of the kingdoms on chaos should be complaining, they will get pvp and possibly silver from disbanding or protecting such a pmk. Get over your self-righteous nonsense and play the game instead of spamming the forums with your terrible ideas.
  7. -1, isnt this why they made Wurm Unlimited? You can make any server, whenever, and with any rulesets you choose, what more do you need? Prove your idea of the week works there first before polluting the suggestion forums. This idea does not fix pvp for WO, especially since they stated they wont be making a new server which is the foundation of this idea.
  8. Are we allowed to be frank about our assessments, without repercussions, if we discuss staff's role in the demise of wurm pvp?
  9. We know you don't see the importance, that is why this thread exists, to illustrate the importance. Players have been waiting for capes and shoulder pads ever since the slots for them appeared on the paperdolls. It might not be critical to you but it is a very long desired feature by wurm faithful and a standard piece of armor in most games within the genre. Capes can be both aesthetically pleasing and add functionality as you will hopefully add abilities, similar but not the same as shoulder pads, to them in the future.
  10. You have the perfect blueprint and most of the tools already in use to make a proper testing environment. Improve the server to handle players there all the time for official testing and their own personal testing. Implement a testing journal that honestly, clearly, and thoroughly documents the changes and what should be tested. Journal pages will indicate the rewards you can receive on the production server for completing them. Bugs found outside of the journal will possibly give better rewards or titles to encourage creativity. Rinse and repeat for each and every patch, no matter how large or small. Join the 21st century standard of game testing and production.
  11. Pretty sure and knowing are two very different states of knowledge. Currently they only put bits and pieces of updates on the test server as opposed to what I am suggesting which is complete and total transparency with excellent documentation, extended testing of the entire update before anything goes live, giving incentives to players to do their best to break the update and report back on all of their findings no matter how trivial. Since you admittedly don't really play that much, you might find it interesting that they have removed several players from the test server because they reported too many problems. There are several players that relish the thought of actively participating in the testing process and several more that would be enticed with sleep powder, titles, deco, clothing and other inexpensive goodies. A comprehensive testing environment will vastly expand the communication divide we are witnessing now because the players that want to know will know exactly what is upcoming and how it works. No, but I have participated in testing for a game with the same amount of staff so I know what is possible. I also don't have expectations this can happen overnight, but since it would solve 2 major problems with Wurm, its a level of excellence that should be striven for.
  12. I am not referring to the anemic testing server currently in sporadic use. I am suggesting a testing culture where any and every change is thoroughly documented and tested by players before content goes live. Just as easy as it was for ~4500 unreplaced accounts to stop paying premium because they no longer enjoyed the entertainment provided here.
  13. You might be satisfied with failure but the majority of us are not. Going from 6.5k active accounts, around when I first started playing Wurm, to under 2k is failure. Thats a ~60% loss of paying players in an age where games within the genre entertain tens of millions. I have personally watched over 200 active accounts with several deeds vanish because of policies and changes made within this time period. How can you be satisfied with -60%? We know things can be done better if those in charge choose to do so or will allow those that can. We should not be satisfied until we have over 10k active premium accounts. That kind of population solves the majority of problems in pvp and the economy that people post about so regularly. Granted there will be new problems but those problems can be easily solved with the increased revenue. I remain hopeful that the right changes will be made to get us there, eventually. Please explain why you are against a testing environment where all upcoming changes are transparently discussed and tested by the community.
  14. All of the dereliction of communication about upcoming features and roadmaps can be soooooo easily solved if they would only build a robust, well documented testing environment where players are incentivised to participate thereby solving two of the biggest problems plaguing this game. We would know what is being tested and that things will be tested, what has failed and wont be added, what will take more time and why. So many questions answered and those answers will most likely be accepted by a patient community that knows progress is being made because they can see it for themselves. We are fed up with the smoke screen of surprise additions to the game that allow concealed development schedules and unnecessary opacity because stuff isn't getting done for whatever reason. The same reason the rules of this game are so malleable, so we never really know where we stand, what is an exploit that is punishable and what is fine as long as friendly people are doing it. Judging by some of the comments and commenters, we are beginning to see a boiled down playerbase that is as passionate about the game as they are frustrated by the way things are being handled. After this group of players is decimated there will be not much left to tolerate the inadequacies. It is far beyond time to add new development blood of Sindusk's ilk that put the happiness of customers playing the game over adhering to some secret doctrine of the Wurmdeveloper Online "team." You have our attention, you have our commerce, you have our patience but these assets are quickly depleting. It's time to shake things up internally and get things done transparently going forward.
  15. Well land is hard to come by on a server as small as Xanadu.
  16. sar·casm /ˈsärˌkazəm/ noun the use of irony to mock or convey contempt. I always forget that English isn't always someone's first language, my apologies.
  17. Why cant you accept the fact this person doesn't want you on or near their deeds? With 11+ deeds he is a significant supporter of wurm and should be commended for it. I firmly believe there is more to this story and the OP is not the victim. KOS is fine as is. Come to think of it, I might just KOS you too on all of my deeds based on this thread, mind telling me the names of all of your characters and which server or should I KOS you on all servers?
  18. KOS on freedom is to keep those that bother you off your deed and perimeter, dont get it twisted while you ride your hollow high horse again.
  19. Or the OP is just unhappy an open space near his deed was deeded over and he no longer has access to it for free.
  20. Collapses in reinforced spaces are not super rare thanks to the multiple server restarts due to not sufficiently testing updates. Every server restart causes collapses throughout Wurm, something that should be removed from the code with more people living in caves now.
  21. We don't need blanket rule changes or dev changes to fix this, there are already several solutions to the problem: move to another spot, bash the guard towers, re-route the highway, be adults and end the harassment/solve the differences. Think of it this way, by moving you effectively start the game over in a new space, you stimulate economy and potentially make new friends and neighbors. Wurm doesnt have to lose more paying customers who are willing to buy more deeds to accomplish their goals. Why would you want to stay some where hostile even without the KOS problem you supposedly have, just to prove a point you are more stubborn? Seriously, get over yourselves.
  22. -1, this whole conversation is silly. Is there such a thing as an alt-deed? How do we know if the OP is not the harasser in this case or if they are equally harassing eachother? If someone is paying monthly upkeep for space, just like the rest of us mayors do, they are entitled to KOS or participate in the highway as they see fit with any or every deed they choose to pay for. Get over yourselves, we are playing a game remember. There is so much space on all servers now there is no excuse to not find a better place to play if neighbors bother you so much.
  23. All of this can be handled with a proper test server and it's comprehensive patch notes. It will serve as both a testing ground and an announcement of future changes. As the testing weeds out potential changes that don't work out the patch notes on the test server are updated, daily if necessary. All problems solved, we know what to look forward to, we know why something is or is not going to be in the next patch and we know how it works. Do you have the courage to do what other games have been doing for more than 20 years?
  24. Can you add one more thing to your new development cycle, documentation of every single change and how it is supposed to affect the game? Enough with the ninja changes.
