  1. I tried to stop myself but I couldn't. Carry on! (Hi Waar! =)
  2. well it's a bit silly ... you reference a small photo in the OP and the point of Wurm is you can make what you want anywhere. So make the pretty view. Otherwise head out on a sail boat to the other servers and see what you like. It's totally subjective.
  3. I don't have to play a healer! (unless Valdor comes to visit)
  4. Dang it. I would have voted hell yes but you make a good point. Alternative is sound though.
  5. Forget my crafting skills, no WAY I'd leave my building skills, fighting skills, or my characteristics behind. That's madness. Not everything in this game is about markets and competition.
  6. The test server and its associated client, distribution, etc is completely different from the regular game. Many brought up the numbers in /who since they are used to seeing the server count AND the total count from their server cluster there (is it server cluster or all clusters? unsure about that part actually). But it is its own completely separate animal that isn't connected to the main released game. They do these tests to ensure that the ACTUAL release goes more smoothly. That being said it's too bad that there were last minute technical problems that kept people who wanted to help from being able to. It happens. But if they got the data from it that they needed to keep working on the release it was definitely a success =)
  7. Cool! I was playing wait and see on the former dates but I should be able to swing this As Valdor said, I bet we could come up with some leather as well.
  8. Booo! "You have reached your quota of positive votes for the day" Thanks for the laugh =)
  9. Me too ... it's getting added to very quickly. But hey, why not do both? The way I see this change is that, outside of the mayor account getting deleted, there wasn't a really good reason to the premium impediment to deeding (a show stopper in Rolf parlance) in the first place. The other concerns are weighed against the benefits. With enclosure rule removal this will make it easier for players (new and old) to deed their areas. As someone mentioned, there is less sticker shock in 10s for a deed paper as opposed to 10s + prem for a deed. In addition, it gives an option for established players to get in on the landrush event without preming an alt. It might not be a perfect solution, but it is a compromise that is turning a lot of people around on the new server. OK so it does cause one more issue, a whole lot of throwaway accounts. So the portal idea is rather nice, if it wouldn't be a ton more work on top of everything else going on atm. Otherwise I think this is more of a "two birds with one stone" situation. Just my personal 2 cents, not representing, etc etc.
  10. I'm glad I can't be spoiled - well mostly. I'm half-way through Dunk and Egg atm. R+L=J would be really tidy but GRRM is pretty good at subverting that kind of thing. I still hope it's true. If you are caught up read Southron Ambitions, it's another theory in essay form. Gives a different perspective on the story preceding the books and the Mad King (or possibly the Slightly Less Mad King if the theory is sound).
  11. I'm game. A few months ago I coaxed a friend interested in woodcutting to the steppe, we took out what looked like a very small forest and smoothed the jagged terraforming. It looked small but took forever! When it was done and back to natural looking steppe (and no longer obstructing view which is one of the cool things about steppe hunting) it was worth it. Very satisfying =)
  12. I saw that comment and thought it was kind of cool. Regionality! It would be a drastic change but I kinda like drastic change. Changes to the mail system would fix a bunch of perceived problems. P/R would be less scared of connection. Celebration people wouldn't have to drastically lower prices because someone on an older server decides to undercut by a nutty margin that is way outside of the norm (and before you get mad by that comment, consider that there are new crafters dismayed by what even 2 yr players have to charge to compete with someone on Indy/Deli + mail charge - PM me, I'll give an example). This could be a really simple fix to a LOT of concerns. TBH I haven't thought on the actual suggestion's numbers. Will reread. No matter what though, I think changes to the mail system that lead to regionality would be positive for all servers. and of course - discalimer - in no way representing opinions of anyone not me.
  13. It's my understanding /support goes to a CM/GM pool. CM can take care of a lot of questions that inevitably end up there, bug reports, etc. leaving GMs free (er) to deal with "My character is trapped in a roof and I can't play" concerns (semi-recent bug, not common example) in a timely manner. edit - just for clarity ... free (er) does not mean they aren't also working on those issues! "My understanding" means just that.
  14. Can't we just have a floating question mark put over Guru's head? (I kid, +1)
  15. Wondering about this as well. My Mag's troll went untame while I was offline and around the same time that this change was made (good timing!) It was starving - oops - and in a yard with my hitched wagon (4 horses), 2 riding horses, and cow. It ate my cow but all of my horses are fine.
  16. Sorry for the late reply! Sent to Sentinelxs: The items silently disappear from the spirit castle. You expect them to arrive in less than ten minutes.
  17. Whaaa about to break in and investigate.
  18. Ya just couldn't resist ... edit: et tu, Fjalke?
  19. You may be right and I may be responding to a localized problem ... Ardnell wasn't exaggerating when he said 100's of hedges, I have no idea what they (that disbanded deed) were thinking. I've seen a few areas like this but none so bad as that. We aren't talking a nice perimeter garden here ... hence hedge-maniac. Also I SHOULD have said obstructed and not impassable. The problem closer to home is on a very hilly, badly terraformed area and you can't dig around hedges (like you can't fences) so it can't be fixed without a very bored weaponsmith (which I am neither) standing by. If you don't have a sickle you have to know where to get on the path and follow a zigzaggy thing between the hedges that takes forever and sometimes dead ends. edit - forgot to actually make a point! Sticking by +1. The griefing thing is already possible off deed, and those stone walls will go away if given time without player intervention, That's how this game recycles land when a player quits. That being said I'm all for no decay on deed and some way for people to maintain them off deed, sprouts to fix the decay maybe just like how we repair fences now.
  20. +1 I know that someone can drop a deed anyways and easily remove them, but I've seen the area he's talking about and there are an extreme number of hedges. There is a similar area near us ... it's a great spot but who would bother? With no deed there it's just a bunch of un-passable terrain obstructing travel. Hedges in general are fine but the aftermath of a hedge-maniac deed is a problem.
  21. 1k bricks delivered to Gurrington, and no rush really. a week is fine =)
  22. Not me =) The road I'm talking about is way south of you, as it connects our side of the strait to the south side of the that desert and then kind of ends ... It was there before we were and I'm not sure who built it. But I would like to make it an official highway if no one objects and after some ongoing projects get done. Thing is, a road like that needs an official destination. Will have to take a ride up there to see if connecting is feasible.
