  1. Eh, even if it is aimed at oakshell it's pretty useless. You have to be able to keep this spell up on every single enemy priest (assuming you know exactly who is and who is not a priest). You won't know the power when it's casted so it could last two minutes or two seconds. Dispel is also a shorter cast so it doesn't really make much sense to even cast this unless you're 25+ tiles away, and at that point you should be charging or shooting horses, not casting spells like this. I'd imagine it's more for boat fights, which may see it have some utility depending on exactly how it functions. . If it increases casting timers by X% instead of X seconds, then it sounds like a pretty big nerf to WL even though it was probably meant as more of a nerf to BL."Heal", the only healing spell usable on boats, has a 30 second cast timer.   2. Meh. Lib favor items don't seem so bad in my point of view because Lib enchants blow. Most Lib spells except for WA are useless compared to their WL counterparts and grinding channeling as Lib is harder than Mag or Vyn. I used to be a Lib priest and even though I have much higher channeling and soul depth as well as access to crops, I almost always used my Vyn alt. It doesn't really matter if their saccables are good if there's nothing worth using them on. Also, posts about priests from Chaos make me want to hit myself in the head with a brick.

  5. 15% for Shield of the Gone? Why not just get 5 extra body strength? Pretty sure that's more damage reduction than 15% and it's more useful than just damage reduction anyways.
  6. What? In what way is this a good change? It's nothing more than an inconvenience imposed for the sake of "balance" when it doesn't balance anything. There's no reason armors can't be balanced AND this nonsense be removed.
  7. Bad change. Nobody is going to use other armors because they suck. Making plate difficult to use archery with is going to just make it a PITA to shoot horses. Nobody is going to switch to studded leather so that they can shoot horses because you'll still get 2-hit by other players. Buff those other armors instead of instituting a ham-handed nerf against plate.
  8. -1 I've done more than my fair share of raiding and it's already extremely stacked against defenders if you have even a halfway-decent plan.
  9. If you've ever been to Affliction you'd know that you can barely even leave the starter deed because it's a giant crater. This had nothing to do with players.
  10. Joemog is correct. Body strength affects both damage and resistance, in and out of combat. I had always heard that it was body until someone told me it was strength. I tested just two nights ago and body didn't appear to matter for reduction; body strength did. I'm relatively certain that body stamina does not function as a health pool, but I could be wrong as I've never tested. Body control maybe affects evading. 51 body control is nowhere near 51% chance to evade. Anyone who's played this game for more than five minutes should know that body control means next to nothing. A naked account with 70 body control fighting an account with equal CR is absolutely not going to evade anywhere near 70% of the time. If that were true, it would begin to seem counterproductive to even wear plate armor with high body control if archery isn't a factor, as 100ql plate gives exactly 70% damage reduction + glance while killing the ability to evade. Mind speed affects overheating noticeably as well as it seems to affect sorcery spells. Soul depth affects your cast power. Soul strength does nothing. It would be nice if the test server were more accessible for non-GM players so that some things like stats which are extremely difficult to test could actually be tested easily.
  11. He means that 0-10 favor takes extremely short amounts of time, so having 4 priests linked up to one can spam CoC because of how quickly 0-10 favor regenerates.
  12. Except that the fix doesn't appear to work for Mag champs, as it seems champion reduction counts as "armor"...... Edit: And chain sucks and nobody with more than five brain cells is going to use it over plate even with the nerf and the "buff" to Mag priests.
  13. BL just got hit very hard with nerfs to every PvP spell aside from Fungus Trap and Rebirth. People are flipping out over Mag res, which wasn't even good to begin with. If you die once every few months, I don't know why you think the non-stacking is the make-or-break for mag.

  15. Eh, I don't think it's intentional that it takes the demise slot and I don't think it's supposed to be more accurate to those with a weakness to frost. It clearly says "enchanted to deal frost damage" which can't really mean anything other than the damage type is frost. Acid is the same.

All that was really necessary, in my opinion, was soul strength being used as a modifier for spell damage and spell reduction (it currently does nothing afaik) and the buffing of Fireheart and Shard of Ice so that they also ignore armor. If the building of resistance is anything more than like, 5% per cast, then single-target spells are rendered even more worthless. The issue was NOT that BL priests were spamming spells (it took a sailboat of BL priests a significant time to kill someone this way). The issue was that Mag and Vyn couldn't have anything to match it, and could do nothing but try to heal it. Add this nerf to the pillar nerf and the upcoming AoE nerf and it looks like priests are largely being nerfed and removed from PvP instead of simply rebalanced.

Either way, it's one of those things where even as a lib priest I thought "wow, this is ridiculous".
  19. I don't know why priest restrictions other than "can't imp or build" exist. It's not like Libila being able to tame or Fo being able to use a bow without losing a bit of faith is going to make everyone become a priest. I'd wager that almost all players decide to not be a priest because imping and building are 90% of this game. Removing these silly restrictions (as well as restrictions on followers like random lockpicking faith hits) would help to remove inconsistency and annoyance.
