  1. While people may have options, we can only control Wurm (or the development team can). Therefore, talking about such options really doesn't make any sense in this thread. We should be focusing on how Wurm can improve, not on "exit strategies" via other games. And please don't mention WoW....
  2. Given how many -1's there are in this thread already, this is not what a lot of people want. I don't even understand why you think people want this. It's what YOU want. You're not "the people". The RIGHT game evolution is important. This proposal, to me, is a step backwards. It will thin out the crowds and make the game feel less populated. This proposal will also not create more sales. Minecraft worked because it takes little time to create things. Minecraft was designed with single player in mind. Wurm was specifically designed with multiplayer in mind and is a different concept as a result. EDIT: To be honest, all your post sounds like is "Let's evolve." We ARE evolving, just evidently not to your liking.
  3. This has nothing to do with religion but... - You can only choose your gender when you start the character. - Unlike gender, you can change your religion during the game at any time you wish. There's a big difference. This has nothing to do with gender in real life. This has everything to do with a decision you make for your character at the start of the game that you can't change later. As a result, you have the potential to be "crippled" if you decide to learn magic on that character and there's nothing you can do about it.
  4. That's only if you choose to play Wurm like that. Everyone's end game is going to be different in a sandbox. There's not really the same "end goal" for everyone.
  5. I wasn't asking you to prove it and I wasn't fully disagreeing with you. All I was saying is it's going to be based on people's ideas on what is like Wurm. You can't deny that we're 2 different people (and if we are the same person then we should be worrying beyond a forum thread ). You're right in that, in your experience, they are similar games and it's great that you found such similarities to draw you to Wurm. Someone else might feel different though. That's all I'm saying.
  6. They aren't. Every characters has trained different skills to different degrees. Last I checked, everyone's skillsheet was different. All this will do it allow genders to not be a factor in the abilities allowed.
  7. What if you have an area you want boxed in and no one's in it already? Perhaps makes the gate first and the fences after. Then you don't box yourself in. Problem solved.
  8. Well this would be one way to thin the community further..... -1
  9. That's why I said "subject to individual interpretation" in my first reply. Everyone's experience in what they deem to be "like" Wurm is going to be different.
  10. While the Wurm team could learn a lot from other games, I don't see how those 4 games are "like" Wurm. Having similar attributes to a game does not mean those games are like Wurm; however, this is subject to individual interpretation. In my opinion, those games are very different from Wurm while having some similar aspects to Wurm. Essentially, if you take the "whole picture" as to what Wurm is and try to place it in those other games, they are completely different games.
  11. Never been in a discussion with you as far as I know. Are you going to start making assumptions? Call it an opinion all you want. Conveniently just calling it an opinion proves the stubbornness.
  12. While you may have the right to address such an issue, the question remains if you're actually helping the situation. So far, it's pretty apparent that you're making it worse rather than better. You're doing the opposite of what you believe you're doing. Just because you start or continue this as if it were a crusade, it doesn't make it right. While having conviction can be admirable at times, conviction can also lead to stubbornness as evidenced in this instance. That's what this thread says about you.
  13. That was you?!!!!!!!
  14. If you have never used a high QL tool or weapon or armour, you have not experienced the need for high QL mining, etc. High skills allows you to do a lot of amazing things. Perhaps try and experience them before judging.

Then just ignore her. I don't care about the details. What does a thread like this get you? Negative publicity?

Why not just say no to what she wanted to pay and move on? Is there another reason for this? One thing I'd also like to add, different cultures deal with money in different ways. There are many countries who barter. The selling creates a high point they'd like to sell and the buyer has a low starting point and they meet in the middle. The buyer's not "lowballing" and the seller's not "overcharging". They are just starting point and both have leeway to what they're willing to work with. I'd like to know what's outlandish about asking for a better deal? It wouldn't be outlandish of you to just say no. Then you've moved on and there's no drama. EDIT: Also, I've dealt with Niki before on something but never reached an agreement. I didn't feel forced. I just wasn't willing to pay the price she wanted on an item. While I hoped there would be more leeway, I moved on instead.
  17. That's why I don't see the reason behind attacks like this in the first place. Threads like this should be solved via GM, like you said. Posting threads like these, at least to me, is the more immature way. Nomad likely won't remember me, but I met him a long time ago on Chaos (my only 2 weeks I've ever had on Chaos lol). I've remembered him since and if something like this happened in the meantime, it would have shown up on my radar much easier than if it were someone random. That being said, I don't know him personally since Chaos really, but I've heard nothing but good things up until this point, so a 2 week old forum account posting this, to me, is questionable.

So when will everyone get married, divorced, then married again and then have a kid that grows to full adulthood in 2 years? On a more serious note, if everyone's going to start posting private conversations on the forums I'm going to start thinking about who I can trust more closely. In the grand scheme of things, it's a toolbelt that doesn't exist in real life. It's pixels.
  19. +1 Why is there even a maximum to begin with? So many times I've needed to remove a non-alliance friend from permissions just to be able to add someone else.
  20. I actually like this idea. It would provide another spending option at a trader and could possibly generate a little more money for Rolf. From a business standpoint, this make sense and provides a practical item for the purchaser. +1

Pissed? Sure. Lashing out due to being pissed without letting my anger settle? Not so much.... However. I also doing see why this thread was needed in the first place. How about we go to our own corners of the sandbox now and not try and take each other's sand castle down now hmm?
  22. Hmmm.... someone who's forum account has been around 2 weeks vs someone who's been around a lot longer without really anything bad said about him in the past afaik...
  23. Flying would ruin the game for these reasons: 1. It would change the feel of the game. What would be the point of roads? What would be the point of most of the infrastructure that we have? There would be less importance in the very heart and soul of Wurm. The building of villages and roads and trade via road or boat. Flying would almost eliminate that. For example, isn't it safe to say that if you're in creative mode in Minecraft you fly around more? Most let's play youtube videos in creative mode do. The same could be said for Wurm. 2. As many people have pointed out, we would have security issues. Do you want to have to secure your deed even further than we have to now (ie via the air)? I sure don't. 3. Number 2 gets heightened with pvp. All of those villages with those high walls that are almost impossible to penetrate? Yeah. They'd no longer work. In fact, almost nothing would likely work for defense at that point aside from loads of guards maybe. 4. The coding, just to prevent issues from arising.... I don't even want to know....
  24. This is probably one of the more glaring issues at the moment, at least for the players with spells. Also has nothing to do with pushing for a unisex culture. It's pushing for a game balance.... and +1 for this.
