  1. It's a rather important canal, shallow or not. It cuts down travel time for some people substantially. There are 1 tile roads listed as highways on the map so I don't see why the canal can't be added.
  2. Yeah, recently acquired it. hehe
  3. I am from Release, just to clarify
  4. 3 merchants at the market now. Will be putting up the page soon on the market. Thanks everyone for your support
  5. This is kind of similar to actors and the characters they are acting. For example, William Shatner is a totally different person than Captain Kirk. People often play games to get away from real life. Wurm can be very relaxing if desired. It may feel weird at times seeing a name of someone you used to know, but you have to remember that that person you used to know is still out there. It's just another actor playing the part of James Bond. Sean Connery is still around.
  6. In reply to #3 I tried Chaos once, JK when I did, I was a newb on the server and I completely agree. I've heard of existing players complaining of a lack of a playerbase and how it's "dying", at least back when I tried it and I really think that's partially due to the "less than ideal" situation for a lot of newbs that actually try out that server. I'm not saying the current style is bad, just if there was some way to raise fighting skills up for newbs (ie. some kind of aura to buff newbs a little bit) the player base might be a lot larger. I'm sure a lot of the long time player base enjoys their "godmode" with the newbs, but I do think that's also the downfall with Chaos,
  7. Thanks Jacra There is now a public trader on site. Still looking for merchants. Once enough merchants are around I will start advertising on the market forum. Feel free to come take a look and purchase your contract from the trader!
  8. I voted for Mynli. She helped us out a lot. The tower and inn will be very beneficial to us locally.
  9. Thanks for the support so far guys. Here is a picture on the progress so far. It's obviously a work in progress, but most of the land you see (the north half of my deed) will be dedicated to the public in one form or another. A little bit of an update, 6 stalls are now built and ready for your merchants. What you get for having a merchant: - Merchant placement is free, I don't care for charging for merchants at all - A great location - The market is on the waterfront, easy to get to - The market has a highway to Spawn Lake (less than 10 minutes walk with no gear on) - Notification when your stock gets low (I will be checking each merchant every 1 or 2 weeks) - Future workshop buildings on site in case you wanted to mingle around without traveling back to your deed - A dedicated mayor, I will expand and do everything I can think of to grow and maintain the market My goal would be for the market to be a public market similar to Freedom Market on Independence. I want to create something that will benefit the community as a whole.
  10. I would post this in the market forum, but this is the initial start-up of the market as opposed to the actual market post. I thought I might post this on the Pristine forum because of the accessibility from Pristine. The idea of this market is that it is at a location easily accessible from both Pristine and Sloping Sands as shown on the following map: There is a full highway from Spawn Lake to Lotus Landing. I have every intention of putting guard towers up along the desert near my deed to make safer travels. Even without the towers, I still get a fair bit of traffic from Sloping Sands. So the details... - The market is right beside the water right at where the highway meets the water (well maybe a few tile south of that ) - As of now, I currently have 6 stalls being made (3 completed and ready for a merchant, 3 more almost complete) - I have room for 50+ stalls with the willingness to expand further if it ever came to it. - There will be no fee from me to set up a merchant and I have no intention of charging a fee later on. I want this to be a public market. - There is also a clay pier being made at the north end of the market and I will make sure a tar patch is accessible nearby as well. - I will also be setting up public buildings (ie. workshops, etc) so merchant holders will eventually be able to work on items at the market if desired. Finally, I also am hashing out the idea of myself checking each merchant once every 1 or 2 weeks and notifying the merchant holders if their stock is running low. If you have any question feel free to im me, contact me in game (my name is Lotus), or post here. If you would like to place a merchant, simply head to Lotus Landing and place your merchant (although sending me a PM would be helpful if you intend on doing this )

  12. If the buyout doesn't go through I would seriously buy this for 15s lol
  13. Public Markets?

I want to give an update that I am working on Lotus Landing having a public market soon. I am working out the details on where I can put stalls but I have room for 50+ stalls if demand is high enough. There is already highway access to Spawn Lake (guard towers are planned to be added in the future on one section in particular). The deed is also right on the coast with access to Pristine. I will make a thread regarding the market once it opens.
  14. They could have responded with "Would you like fries with that?"
  15. There is now a highway through the centre of Release as shown above. The orange line should be reasonably accurate. Everything is double lane. We call it the thornbush highway.
  16. Public Markets?

I was already planning on making a public pier to a clay patch off of my deed (Lotus Landing), which will also be at the end of a highway going through the centre of Release (to spawn lake). I have enough space for a market by the water as well. Vengus is also to the north of me and posted earlier being interested. So there's one possibility at least
  17. If I was to choose between the 2, this is definately the nicer looking map of the two, but I agree with Kadore. I'll follow either one.
  18. Hope you don't mind that I used the other map to show my location. Deed is Lotus Landing. Location is x45, y26
