  1. Has nothing to do with cart travel or general access. Has to to with Knarr access.
  2. My current idea, if I ever get the time to start it, is to cut through the mountain southwest of spawn lake then help with another canal from the large lake to the south. This should block a bare minimum of traffic and actual dig/mine time would be similar.
  3. Fir trees actually grow that way when in forests with other trees around and not on their own completely exposed.
  4. What fixed ALL of my crash on launches was uninstalling Java 32 bit completely and then installing Java 64 bit. You need to uninstall wurm before you uninstall the 32 bit java though. Theres a post on the forums here somewhere on how to do it... I'll see if I can dig it up later.
  5. Really? I would have seen that forge as a gfx upgrade with a few minor tweaks. Would also make it look more different from an oven, which I would enjoy.
  6. My information mostly comes from war logs and descriptions which survived. The armor itself was never really saved but some of the old writings were. The chain used to come ~1-2 inches above the knee according to one log, hung loose from the fore shoulders it wouldn't strike the knees when it swung back, just the fore quarter 4-5 inches above the knee, where it wouldn't chafe so badly. When maces and crossbows etc were becoming more often it was one of the original uses of spaced armor, hits would often get tangled or miss entirely due to the mass of chain hanging down with it. There was an old english armor stash found a year or so ago thats still being studied that was thought to contain some of this sort of armor though. The more popular opinion has been yours, of shorter armor, but some people, like myself, believe that the surviving armor was purely show/dress armor. The higher skirts allowed better showing of the muscling of the mount, and there was no clear defensive or mobility related reason to leave them so high. Most of the knights of the time were wealthy in some fashion and therefore having a couple of pieces of separate armor for parade dress instead of combat would be pretty common... and which one are you going pass down to the family? The dinged up one thats been repaired more times than you'd care to count, or the nearly pristine show stuff? Theres always been a pretty large discrepancy in many areas between whats survived and whats been described from that era. Its not like the roman empire era. Descriptions were so detailed and so many examples were preserved that we pretty much know exactly what was being done and worn. I agree on the knees thing though, but this looks to be hanging down straight enough to leave room for the current running animation.... If it doesn't then they'll need to make the skirt move a bit with the legs... which isn't simple to do without making it look ridiculous.
  7. Public Markets?

Working on getting a market opened up near sloping sands now. Anyone that travels the lake in a row boat should be able to identify where it is Will be closed private market at first but I'll potentially open it up to others later. Most anything you could want to buy will be available. Tools(50 & 60ql) Weapons(50ql), Saddles & Horseshoes. All types of armor @ 50ql+. All types of bardings at 50ql+. Working on the merchant area, docks, deed token access and filling in stock items now. Should be open in a few weeks.
  8. 90ql stuff is also far from commonplace. In fact the market has already undergone a couple of soft resets due to the guys crazy enough to grind up to 90 skill in 3 months burning themselves out and quitting. Its no where near a mature market and the servers should remain seperate. I'm a relatively new wurm player and have spent a fair chunk of coin on the game already in the past 5 months or so. If there hadn't been a newer server cluster to join however, I probably never would have started playing seriously. I've seen the state of the old servers, and while I can easily get years of enjoyment out of these new servers... I don't in any way want to play on the old servers.
  9. There aren't a lot of surviving examples(and I can't remember what the design was called) but horses were briefly used in combat with the chain extending to the front knee. It was rolled before combat and tied with leather straps that were in easy access to be cut quickly if such haste was needed. This is unfortunately from the very short time period where armor was still being added to soldiers and knights instead of removed even though it was pretty much already obsolete. It likely would have become much more common if not for the advent of crossbows and a little later blunderbus style arms. Either way, its a TINY bit too long in that image, but +1 to the way it is now because it looks great and if its shortened it may get too short and start looking like a chain mini-skirt. The artist has got this one right, lets try not to bollocks it up with pedantry. Edit: Also the girl is not riding a deer, thats a caribou, photo taken in august or early september as the vellum is still covering the antlers but they're definitely fully grown in for the year. They're related but not as closely as most people think.
  10. Alaron's Deep Y18 X17 Southwest corner of that tile/northwest corner of the one south of it. Trader, Mailbox, 92 Courier cast. Alaron's Deep Docks, Merchant, soon to be marketplace, but don't mark it as such yet as the stalls aren't done Y19 X18, northwestish corner... slightly south and east of Alaron's Deep.
  11. Past that point long before marriage. Any sort of committed serious relationship means I can't make new female friends and she can't make new male friends unless those friends are already married etc. End of discussion. Aeris may not be the type, but comes off in that post as the "My body is my own and no man ain't gonna tell ME what to do with it" or "I am woman, hear me roar" types. She may not be, but she's probably following the rules somewhat regardless if she is in a long term committed relationship. Humans are not wired to have platonic friends of the opposite sex, there are actually several studies on this(one very recent one). Jealously is HIGHLY justified. Men being more possessive and more insistent that women follow said rules is also highly justified, Women end upwards of 2/3 of relationships. Over half of which are ended to be with another man. In other words women end as many relationships to be with other men as men end relationships at ALL.
  12. This is true. There is no other franchise that succeeds better at not knowing why the hell they're successful than the star wars franchise.
  13. Uhg. ###### like this is what ruined WoW. ITS NOT SPECIAL ANYMORE IF EVERYONE CAN GET IT. Its like watching children cry and say..."but... but...but... jimmy has a transformer.... why can't I have a transformer? Wahhhh!!" Maybe bring in some dragon spawns, but extremely slowly(1/year/server or less...), or make it require some sort of huge server-wide effort to summon a new one. The ability to acquire it could be reintroduced, but in order to maintain the level of special it would need to be very, very slowly.
  14. Sigh. I haven't had enough coffee yet today. That'll teach me lol
  15. Generally when talking about deeded tiles it does not include perimeter. Base deed is 5x5.
