  1. Even when we do purify, no one really has any exo skill to do it and the damage repaired is like 0.01 or 0.02. When the corruption is 30 dmg it's really mathematically impossible to actually purify a holy site. Purification needs to be changed and increased x10. Agreed this seems to be a weird mechanic.
  2. Not even 3 hours into our akashic mirror on deli : [20:17:59] A cryptic mirror, peering into what might be another world. It bears an aura of Vynora. Ql: 32.61665, Dam: 37.57369..
  3. Seems to go up each time someone gazes into it, your experience is similar?
  4. Not only that but would take us weeks to purify this akashic mirror on deli considering there's only about 3 of us there... yeah, this needs to be reworked a bit.
  5. Update, purifying seems to repair very little corruption or damage to holy sites. Tried it with a 50 , respectively a 70 exorcism character. Pre purification : [19:09:20] A cryptic mirror, peering into what might be another world. It has a benevolent aura. Ql: 35.212482, Dam: 25.675772. Post purification : [19:09:28] A cryptic mirror, peering into what might be another world. It has a benevolent aura. Ql: 35.212482, Dam: 25.175772. That's what 50 exo skill looks like, maybe we could ramp up the numbers a bit for purification please?
  6. Forcing people to carry 20 kg of cotton on them at all times and staring at 5 - 10 -15 second healing timers for each individual wound isn't either. The fact that first aid doesn't actually increase healing speed is even worse. Better to give people more options than take them away. Wurm's balance is all over the place. We can't have fun things it seems for this weird abstracted concept of "balance" which doesn't even exist anyway in the first place. People just got used to systems and they think it's "normal" .
  7. Why is this a bad thing? This sounds like an awesome thing...
  8. Wasn't leather combinable 10 years ago? I distinctly remember combining leather around 2012 but then it got changed.
  9. Is it decay , as in are all walls around the same % of damage, or maybe was it a unique that strolled by and bashed some stuff? As someone that had a champ kyklops near his deed on epic for years, I can tell you wandering uniques have a talent for bashing down stuff.
  10. Like a lot of things in wurm...it adds nothing. Wurm was exclusively designed by Rolf to be a pvp adventure and all systems in the game were designed to this purpose. Stamina meant you needed to be on foot in combat and it plays a vital role in your survivability. But Pve wise? Dunno man, why does riding a horse use stamina in the first place? Or cart? Or boat in pvp? So yeah....there's about 9999 legacy systems from Rolf's pvp experiment / vision that serve no purpose in pve, and actually detracts from the experience. Stamina meters make sense in only a few game design scenarios : when it's a combat resource (use stamina for moves) , when it's a survival resource (running / sprinting uses stamina, aka survival or horror games), when it's an injury mechanic (injuries lower stamina , again survival games mostly uses that) , when it's an adventure / RPG mechanic (stamina allows you to perform certain actions per day or session then you have to rest). In wurm stamina sadly is mis-designed since for some things it should never ever be used and they were never fixed. Wurm isn't a survival simulator, once you figure out the base mechanics, surviving is just a minor chore, not really an adventure anymore. It's also not a horror game or an RPG since we have unlimited stamina and can do pretty much anything if you wait a second to recharge ( which btw if stamina recharges in 1-2 seconds then it's a useless mechanic since most games have a long timer to recharge stam precisely so you are careful with your actions).
  11. I remember relocating my deed on deliverance a year ago and when I disbanded it, it didn't even take 30 minutes for the local to pop up with 10 names. I was in the process of moving stuff via wagon (mostly crates so no biggie) when people kept asking if there's "any good stuff left". One measure I'd personally implement is for players to be granted the right to mark 10 items (or more?) as "personal property in case of long absence". What this means mechanically is that if a forge for example is marked as personal, when a deed disbands , it goes into the void (database) and when the player returns (6 month,s a year, 5 years, w/e) he has the option to "Summon personal property". This can lessen the pain of losing stuff due to RL complications. I'll be honest here guys but there's no MMO out there (that I know of) that punishes players so freaking much for an absence in Wurm. You can lose entire months of work in Wurm (if not years) due to some tragic RL complications which I'll be candid here, will eventually happen to all of us at one point or another. If I wanna login in Wow after many years of absence is my bank deleted or personal stuff? Nope. How about in guild wars? Nope. Runescape? Nope. But Wurm? Oh wurm has to really punish you if you don't pay the nice tribute to the king for that upkeep. It's quite cruel to punish players by esentially "removing" all their personal stuff (that's not in inventory) because they couldn't login. Some people go through depression, some have bad jobs, some have health issues, some have their loved ones die and simply cannot login to Wurm for a prolonged period of time. But when they do? When they finally manage to "soothe the waters" IRL and login to wurm what do they find? Their entire work eliminated because they didn't manage to pay upkeep.Their reward for paying premium, paying upkeep , supporting the game is that their stuff goes bye bye. Why should they remain loyal players after this crap? If the reward after a painful period in a human being's life is having their work removed in game, why should that person ever have something good to say about the game or encourage other people to try it? I've known about 40 players personally that have perma quit for precisely this reason. Some had kids to raise, some had work related issues or health issues, etc. But when they logged in their things were gone. The game simply deleted their work and valuables with this ###### looting mechanic. Some will say "oh but it isn't the game's fault, it's the looting players". I also call ###### on this since any game mechanic encourages a certain player behavior. I get the excitement of salvaging someone's deed but the reality of the situation is a lot of people spend A LOT of time to get their necessities in game and most of them will not have the will, desire, money, resources, time to do it all over again. Simply put Wurm needs some mechanics that allow for a player to retain a part of his stuff that cannot be in inventory. I am talking about usual things like forges, chests, rare beds, etc, when they simply cannot login.
  12. One pet peeve requested by players every year for the past 15 years is the fact we still don't have sword sheats / weapons in a belt. It's quite ridiculous in 2023 in a MMO for characters to walk around with swords drawn everywhere. I know animating models and adding stuff like this isn't easy. It's 1000 times easier to tweak values in any code, but adding sheats + weapon belts takes longer. But it really adds to the immersion and overall quality of life for the game. I am personally tired of walking around with a huge axe that constantly clips through my horse or other people. Hope 2023 is the year we get some fix for this. A cynical hope...but it is what it is.
  13. Just because you don't understand it doesn't mean it's not a problem. Everyone has jobs, tasks, responsibilities, RL important things to do. People don't have time to login for 2 hours just to travel from point A to point B on Xanadu. Most people will not define that as fun. You might extract pleasure from it. Doesn't mean it's for everyone.
  14. Speaking of affinity checks, how often do they happen? It seems ever since I managed to do all the journal goals a year ago I haven't gotten 1 new affinity on freedom in anything. Is the +10% affinity windows actually breaking the code to get new affinities?
  15. Oh god please yes. I am really tired of some actions being right click only or double click.
  16. I am at the moment unclear as to what properties Empyrean metal is supposed to have.
  17. Yeah agreed with OP, it's time to let go of "legacy systems" from Rolf's pure Wurm pvp dream and let Pve have protected animals. After all people do invest $$$ in buying good horses and sometimes those animals end up as crocodile food because you went afk for 2 minutes.
  18. 2023 Roadmap

99% of games don't have full gear drop on death so people aren't really used to that. Maybe except Rust? But that game is infamous for its toxic community. Also what other game has high level mobs capable of killing you in 15 seconds when you leave starter town? If you're unlucky wurm can spawn a champ spider or champ troll close to a starter town and a newbie is pretty much dead after that.
  19. 2023 Roadmap

50 0000% this. This literally makes no sense to punish new players for dying. Maybe once they get to 50 or 70 Fight skill this protection can go away. But at the same time let's ask some game design questions related to this: 1. Why is gear drop a thing in pve when it only makes sense in pvp? In pve no one can loot your corpse. So why lose gear? 2. In pvp it makes sense since anyone can loot your corpse, there are no protection permissions for pvp servers. 3. Death = losing skill points is punishing enough, how can a 10 FS newbie recover his corpse if he dies to 2 trolls? He waits 1 real life hour to wait for the trolls to leave? Makes no sense. Zero fun, just frustration, this is one of those "uninstall moments" Josh Strife Hayes talked about in his WO review. And let's freaking face it, with wurm's "intuitive" combat system, who hasn't died as a newbie to a random bear or spider? I had dozens of death as a newbie to pretty much everything in the first month of playing many years ago. Wurm has no "mob levels" you don't start out at lvl 1 and see a "Level 10 skull icon" over the head of a spider that warns you it's way above your paygrade if you want to fight it. In fact some of wurm's mobs are deceptively weird when it comes to power level. A spider while being pretty fast and huge is actually a weak foe. However a small hell hound is 3x as deadlier than a spider despite being the size of a regular dog. So yes, please remove punishing new players for dying. Let them keep their gear if they die.
  20. We do have a combine keybind actually. I use it all the time. Just double click on any item in the stack and use the keybind on the stack list to combine them.
  21. It will be because it's a giant corporation, no matter how you view its leader or the company's policies. It's simply too valuable to let fail. Most likely it will be bought out by a competitor like microsoft or google. There's an old saying that's true for "too big to fail". If you owe the bank 1 M $ then you have a problem. If you owe the bank one billion dollars, the bank has a problem. The more Musk owes, the more 3rd parties will be interested in keeping twitter afloat so he pays his debt. In any case, Twitter was always a destructive media force, promoting nothing but the dregs of humanity. That said, yeah Wurm should really explore some open source alternatives or maybe even develop its own based on some open source software.
  22. Oh god please yes to all of OP's suggestions. There's a reason no one uses tamed animals and it's basically because their survivability is usually around 30 minutes since leaving deed.
  23. As long as people offer grass enchanting services and have path of love alts, hay will never be used. This is just one of those cases where something was added in a game without understanding mechanics, player behaviour and path of least resistance. Enchanted grass offers the best longevity for feeding animals over a long period of time, almost no maintenance needed, enchanted grass rarely is packed and rarely becomes dirt or regular grass. I experimented a bit with hay and it seemed like one of those things that just are in the game for the sake of being in the game. Usefulness is zero.
  24. Tree stumps are now invisible post update. Once you cut down a tree, there is no stump shown.
  25. I like you used the OG witcher picture and not the Netflix one
