  1. Right but you would still need a way to get through these layers of tall walls and if gates are easy to get through then there would not be much of a point in doing this. If the longhouses were no longer the most effective option I don't see why they would continue using them. The idea is that it's supposed to be easy to get to the players and sieges can be conducted within a reasonable amount of time. In the more serious sieges the attackers will build their own buildings to gatehop in. So in the end this whole dynamic just makes it take more time to raid a place. Maybe this suggestion would not be the right way to achieve the desired results but in the end comes down to whether you want deeds to be easily raidable or to require long sieges to raid. Even now people get raided when no one is on, I just don't see it as a major problem you lose a few items and a small amount of silver and have to repair a few things it's not the end of the world, The alternative is that players can instantly run into the safety of their deed which will require an organized group of people 8 consecutive hours to get into your deed. I would just prefer that someone who has a job can play through an entire successful raid on a large deed on a weeknight. I think most people would agree that the skill curve and increased skill gains were a step in the right direction. Now someone doesn't have to work on a skill like it's their job to be able to produce something of reasonable quality. So why not do to raiding what was done to skills so that it's accessible to people who aren't turbonerds.
  2. Reconsider the current door mechanisms. Make the current doors/gates/mine doors much less effective defensively: Doors/gates/mine doors take 3 seconds to lock and must be unlocked before you can go through them and can always be opened from inside of the building. Also house doors cannot be locked if the door has taken more than 10 damage. For the damage requirement to be reasonable we would need deed maintenance crews that is for a price you can have the structures on your deed periodically repaired automatically, price depends on how many structures you have. Implement castle gates: These gates would be almost as durable as walls but take 10 seconds to open and close Can be opened by anyone from the inside or by villagers from the outside, cannot be placed iwthin 10 tiles of another castle gate. To go along with this I would either make tall stone walls stronger than stone house walls or make a new type of stone wall that is stronger than stone house walls. The idea is that for most deeds you would have one outer wall to break through maybe 2 for some of the larger deeds and then you're in. Once you're in you should be able to get through the doors reasonably fast and you then fight your way to the token. Ideally it would take a reasonable amount of organization to break into one of these places.
  3. yeah, I still don't know anyone in game using the Ericccssson voice chat.
  4. I'm sure they'll accept you, if you get some of your villagers to go with you and build up a settlement, they'll even promote you to Baron But you do need to sign up on the forums, not sure but I think they sometimes allow people to sign up on behalf of groups. http://lomaner.freeforums.org/ How is Ultimarus doing?
  5. So the choices are between... +5-10% FS gain For Magranon +5-10% skill gain for everything but FS for Vynora Small increase in the rate of healing for Fo Has anyone done any testing on the increase in the rate of healing?
  6. Are any of the spells that can be cast at 30 faith any good? Which one would you choose if you could only be a follower? I heard frantic charge is useless, what about goat shape? How about refresh/drizzle, I would guess that in most situations the 15 second cast time on refresh would be too much for it to be of any use. Mend might be reasonably useful.
  7. It's not much of an attack, considering most of the people at occupy wall street don't have much money to withdraw at all. But if the public at large did collaborate on some kind of a bank run, yes it could be a problem. If you recall in the great depression bank runs were a serious problem, only back then they were motivated by people fearing that their money was gone, now that we have deposit insurance, people aren't worried.
  8. Everybody stop posting in this thread until new images are posted, kthx bai
  9. Which shield should I go with? Do people ever use the wooden ones? I thought the main appeal of those was that they could be made with carpentry, the wiki says they take less damage but block less damage. Anyway which would you recommend for fighting and hunting, not being the tank or anything. How much do the large shields slow attack speed vs other shields and how much do they block vs other shields? What about blocking arrows?
  10. Yup http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uE2M7g_IWSE&feature=feedf This is what we are dealing with
  11. Well you should of had dragons demise or self healers demise
  12. Quit whining! I like the idea of having unkillable monsters out there in the wilderness.
  13. Even with the 3x gv decay, we still saw TONS of abandoned structures. There's still a lot of abandoned structures there now. It would need to be more aggressive than that. 5x decay on off deed constructs only (forges, houses, walls, beds, etc), deeds will have the decay rate they currently have. I propose a quasi-deed system let's call it a homesteading system -Abandon the enclosure rule -free homestead, for any player that reaches a certain skill level, (to prevent spamming of homesteads) -protected area in a 4 tile radius around the homestead with 3 tile perimeter. (I think it is in everyone's interest to spread people out) -Preset permissions, no one can do anything on the homestead except walk unless you join it. You can only join one. (to prevent players from using multiple homesteads because they would not be able to do anything with their main character on additional homesteads) -initially decay will be at the same level it is right now off deed on freedom. The homestead will keep track of the time since last login, and every week of no log in decay will double. So 2x decay at 1 week, 4x decay at 2 weeks, 8x decay at 3 weeks, 16x decay at 1 month etc etc. Once no constructs exist on the homestead, the homestead vanishes. A different set of rules for premium player homesteads. -gets to configure permissions -decay constantly kept at 1x, even if they don't log in (or in other words what it is presently for off deed structures on freedom) -possibly make it slightly bigger? Maybe not necessary though, we don't want to destroy the need for a deed. Arguments in favor of this. -most structures exist to keep other players out, this will cut down on the number of structures we see. -the 5x decay will clean up freedom -the homestead decay will allow new players a respite from decay and it will clean up after them. -it will spread the new players out somewhat, making freedom easier to traverse. Keep in mind, no respawn at homesteads, no accessing bank account at homesteads, still has 3x the decay of deeds, and they are quite small. So this will not destroy deed revenues.
