  1. Gather round folks, for I shall tell you a tale of both tragedy and sadness. T'was with a heavy heart and a furrowed brow that I noted the almost extinct numbers of inhabitants on the Epic Isles, nary a priest about, let alone one of the faith I required. Never worry, thought I, 'tis but a simple trip to Elevation and the Altar of Three. It will be a merry and brief trip, and what with so few people around, there be boats-a-plenty, and all unlocked, no less. I will be back in time to be off for lunch, or so I thought at the time. All was well, a boat was borrowed, a fair wind set me forth, but forsooth! What buggeration is this? The Altar of Three hath moved again! Damn-it-all. On foot it is, I shall borrow this horse! Onwards brave steed and spare not your hooves, time is of the essence, and hunger is setting in! What biomes we traversed, what adversity and awkward landscapes we were forced around. Into MR territory we rode. Dodging guards, riding like the wind, all in the knowledge if I could get to the Altar, all would be well - convert the religion, tame the horse, eat the lunch. But alas, it was not to be, my optimism was misplaced. Arrive we did, at long last, in the depths of god-knows-where. I unhorsed, and began to read. But what treachery is this! A wild Drakespirit hath appeared. Nay, two. A hellhound also! Gadzooks! Infamy! Super effective infamy! I turned to read the inspription, but t'was the wrong one. Waylaid and fumbling for the correct inscription, as I found it, I simply could not scroll quickly enough, before I could accept the offer of conversion, the red tunnel beckoned. Rarely has a death been so sour. Alas, poor Epic! I knew him, Rolf: servers of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy: he hath borne me on his back a thousand times; and now, how abhorred in my imagination it is! tl;dr the hell with this, i'm off to Xanadu, seems all the cool kids are doing it. Grind ho! Also, beware the Altar of Three - it's a trap!
  2. I tend to avoid making any unsightly eyesores and try to preserve the natural beauty as much as I can. Although I respect the effort some people have gone to to create their paranoia mountains.
  3. Does land that i've terraformed reset back to the original terrain map over time, or can I just leave it alone and terraforming will stay like it is indefinitely?
  4. Santa Rolf and Team, I left! And then I came back. I also built a house in a forest, which is open to everyone, raiders included, which I thought was pretty nice of me. I also spent a good deal of time earlier in the year relieving fellow members of my Kingdom of their excess items, particularly those rare items, which as we all know are such a great burden, this, I feel, was especially magnanimous of me. I trust this qualifies me for the nice list. Cheekily yours, SV.
  5. Decided to log back in for the first time in about six months. Aside from the absolutely absurd number of creatures that there now seems to be on the home servers, the other thing i noticed before my ten minutes back in Wurm got old, was that the tower guards don't seem to hold aggro, rendering them virtually pointless. What appears to have happened in my absence is that we've gone from few creatures to far too many and tower guards have lost their nerve. Seems to me Rolf just decided that he no longer wants new players playing his game. Disappointing.
  6. I know i keep bringing this up, but I feel i have to because nothing is being done about it. Every single day at this time for up to 2 hours the server lag becomes so outrageously bad that nothing can be achieved and if you get kicked out then you cannot get back in except on the odd occasion, and even then, it's not like the server actually recognises your presence in the game, which starts the whole process all over again. This keeps happening every single day at the same time, without fail and it's not just me. It has nothing to do with me, my router, my home network or my ISP. I know I could go away for an hour or two and do something else, but the point is i don't feel as though i should have to, especially given to the fact that I am a paying customer. At the time Serenity server is nowhere near capacity, although, overall, over all the servers there is an increase of over 1000 people. I know it's peak time, but the fact remains that this is wholly unacceptable. Could you please address this as a matter of urgency please.
  7. This would be a nice addition to the game. Surprised this hasn't been added in already considering how long the game has been around.
  8. It is happening AGAIN. It has been fine all day long. What is going on? EDIT: This happened at exactly this time last night, it cannot be an area problem, i can't even get into the server and i'm not on the freedom group, i'm on Serenity on the Epic group and I operate in a very quiet area with few buildings. I'd like an official response to this rather than speculation as it has been an issue for well over 24 hours now.
  9. I have been on most of the afternoon and i have just noticed the latency drop a bit all of a sudden, the context menus are starting to take a while to refresh
  10. Any word on when this is going to be fixed? That's getting on for 24 hours now.
  11. I can sometimes get in and the game world loads in around me, however that only lasts for a minute or two and then the client stops recieving information from the server and i get that constant refreshing which spells the end of my connection to the server. In the brief glimpses of activity i get in the game I can see that a vast swathe of people have this issue today with people losing connection to the server by the tens at a time. I also managed to grab a few brief words with some people in-game who said it's been going on for a while. Is this a common issue? I only joined the game yesterday and I love what i have seen so far, but i'm not willing to spend time and money on something that is going to fall apart at the seams every couple of days because the client and/or servers aren't stable.
  12. Same problem. All was well until about an hour ago, At first it was just a lag issue - constant refreshing, kicking and reconnecting. Now when I log in all I see is sky and sea, can't turn around, no healthbar, no active chat. I am on steam chat with friends on the same server they have no problems. Ping test is clean at 36ms, tracert is clean with no spkes between hops all the way to a variety of final locations. Have reset PC and cycled router and rerun the game, ping test and tracert with the same results each time. Currently on Serenity server.
