  1. We've had to talk to a lot of newcomers about how they've been treated when they come into the game for the first time, and it takes a lot to convince them that it's worth sticking around in. A lot of members in Ashuria are quite jaded because of the horrible "welcome" they recieved. We had a young boy crying because he said he just wanted to play with us, but people kept telling him to leave, decieving him by leading him places where he could be trapped, and then murdered over and over again just because he was with me. It's quite disturbing how many people there are that have been doing this, it's not just a select few. These were real tears this kid was crying because of the actions of those who wish to ruin a good time for others.
  2. Melons.

I tweeted about it, might have been someone who saw it.
  3. Melons.

Okay. Melons, that you can plant, grow, and then eat. It helps your hunger not go down. Maybe even fills up your thirst a tiny bit? I made the post to make the suggestion, then people below discuss what it could do, or how it would function mechanic wise. I thought the general idea of what a melon is would be enough to kinda' get the general idea of what I was suggesting.
  4. I agree. It's a stupid way of knowing if a raiding party is on the way. It's not in the game for that reason, it's to see how many people are online right now, not detection of raiding parties which is what it's mostly used for now. +1
  5. Add melons to the game. All kinds of melons, but mostly Watermelon.
  6. Awesome! Can't wait to see some sweet art!! EDIT: What we do on the bethesda forums is have a single thread where everyone submits their art. When it fills up we make a new one linking back to the old, etc. Maybe that could work? Expanding the forums just for fanart seem cluttery doesn't it? Just my opinion.
  7. Desertion Crashed

I don't know if this is my fault or not. If it is, I apologize. If it isn't ... well... this sucks because I wana' play too!
  8. It's true. I was very inspired *wipes away tear*
  9. That is not CaptainSparklez. I know Jordan and it's not him, he's not playing WURM.
  10. >http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eF7Hlgs8to0 I don't understand this community, at all. I paid $800 for a character that was very well skilled so I can help my friends who are coming in with building, setting up deeds, all that fun stuff. I asked for help, and only one person came to me to help, and that was Nosfirebird while everyone else was telling me to leave. So I started trusting him, and this happened. Literally right when I log in. The -only- person who knew where I was was him. $800 freaking dollars. Within minutes, killed, on the spot of log-in. I just don't understand how this is allowed? I could understand if it was done in game, but this is beyond messed up. I just.. I can't believe the amount of crap I've had to deal with since I've gotten back. My mind is blown. Completely. I was trying to meet my friend to convert to MR so we could start on our city, so I can lay out the plans.
  11. Can you show me that PM? Nosfirebird has been helping us quite a bit and has been extremely nice.
  12. >http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qTuZN8Ch1mM We already have the copyright. This is the trailer we shot a week before Minecon for only 12k as a POC. So if you're smelling BS, it's probably your upper lip. We film in November.
  13. I actually work everyday, without a day off, for about 14 hours a day. I'm also in the middle of getting ready for conventions, traveling to Europe, then Canada, then I have to go to Florida, then Georgia to start the shoot of our movie Heart Land. Then I have to move to LA which will lead to even more work. I have to do sponsorships on top of ad rev campaigns. I hardly have any time off other then when I'm traveling and only when I'm in the middle of the moving part. I have to come out with content daily, edit that content, and upload that content within a certain time frame or I don't get paid. If you think it's so easy, I invite you to do one recording with me. You have a few hours after the recording to edit, render, and upload the video or it's completely null. If you're entertaining and engaging enough, you'll instantly grow a huge audience and then you can quit your "normal" job and have an oh so easy job like mine. Give me your skype, and we'll record tomorrow. I wake up at 6am everyday, I record at 8am. Make sure you're ready.
  14. Thank you, we're excited to be here
  15. Right... did you actually read the post?
  16. I did that after asking if it was alright to do so and getting permission. We had 50+ people wanting to join us not knowing where we were.
  17. You should really read the actual post.
  18. I was streaming before I even went into the base. In fact the person that took me into the base found me through the stream. I had literally 30 PM tags popped up with "gary" in it so I decided to stop reading the PM spam. I made sure not to show alliance chat, everything is recorded for you to review. You can even fully see the inside of the whole base from the hill, you don't need a livestream. I'm here to have fun, not sneak information to enemy factions. Obviously it was an accident. Typed from my phone.
  19. Can you show me evidence of this? I find it hard to believe that new players are causing you grief and robbing you unless you give them the opportunity to. There are in game mechanics that prevent people from doing that especially as a brand new character.
  20. Greetings! Hello everyone, I haven't really formerly introduced myself yet, but I'm Bashur. I'm the content creator for the YouTube channel http://www.youtube.com/bashurverse. I used to play WURM Online back in the days of Wild, with the war up north and the Hortons building an epic ship (Or two). Those were good times, I started a deed called "Bloodmoon Lagoon", I'm not sure if it's still there or not. Back then I wasn't anything on YouTube and honestly I was in quite a major depression. I stayed home all the time, never really left and just played WURM. WURM Online is actually one of the biggest reasons why I'm still here, because I made a lot of friends and we built and accomplished many things during that time. If it wasn't for WURM the depression was so bad that I doubt I would have made it through it. Well my YouTube channel started taking off around that point because I started a series called Legend of Hobo, and the rest was history. Legend of Hobo was based around my adventures in WURM, and the great times I had. So I have WURM to thank for that as well. I then stopped playing WURM to focus on my YouTube career. When I had about 85,000 subscribers, I decided to come back to WURM and have some fun. I'm a heavy roleplayer and I know a lot of you share the idea of creating an amazing city inside of WURM that's populated and has it's own economy and is self sufficient. With that many subscribers, I thought I could finally make that dream come true, and create an amazing city full of roleplay and fun. While I was editing, I still wanted to play, but constantly having to click over and over in the same spot was making editing hard, so I got a mouse clicker to help click. I was still at my computer, so I thought this was okay to do, little did I know it wasn't. I was permanently banned on that character, and IP banned for 30 days. That destroyed my dreams of the city, and I learned a hard lesson. So I went back to focusing on my YouTube channel, and everything continued to blow up. Eventually I hit 600,000 subscribers, and everything was going amazing. I found myself once again with a lot of freetime on my hands because I managed my time wisely. I decided to go back to my former hobby and join WURM online once again with the same intentions. I wanted to create a huge trade city for the Epic cluster, the biggest that's ever been made. With this many subscribers, how could I not shoot for the moon? I made a video talking about it, and waited for my friends. We were then hunted down and murdered having people screaming "We don't want a cheating macro ###### in our kingdom, go kill yourself" and the like. They were pretty harsh words, and frankly I doubt I could have even explained to them what happened and have them change their attitudes toward me. So I tried to continue. Then a group offered to protect us, and help us. Eagerly I accepted, and we were then invited into their village. I was having fun again, and it looked promising. I went to go tell my fans what was going on to update them, because a lot were very confused, and during that time I was removed from the village, and murdered by the very people who said they would protect me. Then I was murdered at the spawn that very second I rezzed. Then more murder happened... it wasn't very fun, and it it was giving a bad impression of the game to those watching. I'm only human, and I was getting angry at that point, I only wanted to play the game with my friends and accomplish something amazing and helpful, but I was constantly being murdered and mislead. It was started to make me paranoid, I had no idea who I could trust anymore. I accepted help from two other groups who too murdered me outright, saying that I'm ruining the game by bringing "12 year old kiddies". The constant insults to my fanbase, and to myself. The personal attacks, the griefing and murdering. It was more than I could handle and it was getting worse by the minute. I started getting depressed again, sad that this was the one game that I loved so much, and everyone was against me. Then I started getting angry, pissed off that I had done nothing and I was constantly being hunted like an animal and slaughtered and camped at the spawn point with nowhere to run or hide. I wanted to have fun, damnit! Why was this happening?! So with this anger I made some statements that I regret fully, saying that I was no longer going to be nice, and I was going to do everything in my power to cause chaos and destruction. Because frankly I felt that everyone in every Kingdom deserved it at that point. I saw the death re-spawn screen more than I saw the actual game, and I was getting sick of it. I didn't want to stop playing the game because if I did the jerks would win. So I wanted to raise hell, and punish those who were doing this to me. Well with my statements came more backlash of course, more hunting, more griefing, more murder, etc etc etc. It just wouldn't end. And here I am, hiding in a cave with only a few I trust currently waiting for the next person to kill me. My intent when I talked about this game to the public was never to hurt anyone, I just wanted to tell people about how amazing this game was and hopefully a portion of my fanbase would love it. I wanted to play with my fans in a game that was special to me, and a game where over time you can accomplish and build great things. But since I've arrived I've had nothing but hatred and malice thrown at me. I apologize if I caused this game to not be fun to anyone, because that was never my intent. I love this game, and I loved the community back on Wild. I was hoping to get the same experience again here, and maybe this time be part of the history of WURM. Be one of those people who does something great and changes everything ( For the better of course ). I'm a nice person, at least I try to be, and the reason I reacted the way I did is because WURM is more than a game to me, it's an experience. It's another life. If it was any other game, I would have just left. But I'm here, and I'm sorry for the way I reacted. I'm not leaving, and I hope somehow I can fix this image people have of me. I'd really like to enjoy this game for the time I'm here, and I can't right now because I'm constantly being hunted. These are my intentions for this game: Build a fun roleplay inspired community. Build a city for this community. Build a Kingdom for this community, in the long run. Hunt down and punish those who are mean, vile, and evil. ( Roleplay of course.. but real PvP ) These are NOT my intentions: To hurt others. To grief others. To drive others out of the game. To ruin the fun of others. I just wanted to make that clear, and thank you for taking the time to read.
  21. Greetings! I'm currently trying to plan the city we're going to build out, and I could use some advice from veteran wurmians. I was wondering, what size do you think a city with... say, 50 people should be? I'm a little confused about how the deed stuff works, and I notice how expensive it can get. I'm just trying to figure this out before we thrown down the money for it. Any tips for me before we toss down the token? We're also playing on the Epic server, so there -is- pvp. Thanks! -Bashur P.S. Use some advice*
  22. This is brilliant! Thank you so much for putting the time and effort into creating this for all of us to us!
