What if range maxed out at a "moderate" level that is not terribly hard to obtain - but of course max possible level above that level still contributes to how difficult it is to destroy/take over. I don't know that say 90 ql for max range (whatever that would be) is a bad thing - but maybe something like 50ql to reach the max range would be more encouragement for players not yet to a very high masonry skill to participate in land squabbles. More play, more fun for everyone?

  6. Oh drats! So many new goodies how can I even decide which to use and where?! Will all the new wall types have a "trimmed" in addition to the non-trimmed versions shown in the pictures? (Same as "regular" rock walls do now)
  7. All skill levels. Yes, it happens even with 1 skill and 1 harvest. None of those factors that should make a difference to speed do *at all*.   8. Woa Botd runes (+10% usage speed - Libila glimmersteel) rarity quality of tool All make absolutely no difference to harvest timers. (Forestry/Gardening) Only factor appears to be skill. (Testing was done across different age tree/bush - and compared "apples to apples" in all cases.. so not going into age's influence to timer or how skill relates to that) According to testing - will get the exact same timer regardless of any of the above or any combination of the above. Same case for both sickle or bucket Seems unintended or not flushed out with the update that player skill and age of "fauna" being harvested changes the number of goods harvested. (Rather than always having been "one" in the past) Have done less extensive testing with trellises(gardening) but seems to be the same case - no effect. Especially with cooking update I'm sure more people will be effected by this, and not just insane wine fanatics such as myself. It can take a *very* *very* long time going around harvesting items (many many hours - it is quite a chore).
  9. Elsa, you can combine the clay into big pieces. Eg. -Expand your clay list - activate any clay that is not the first one in the list - right click on the clay header and select combine. -If you only want to combine select items in the list and not the whole list then it is the same procedure but you r-click on another single item, or on a ctrl+leftclick selected batch of items -You can also combine in the crafting interface (there is a little button next to the item graphic) ... so .. put your clay list into one of the crafting slots and push that button.   11. As the title says- I suggest an ability to disable the bee message spam from domestic hives.. or hives on deed. I recently acquired my first bee.. proudly brought home my hive and planted it in my garden.. Now all the time is bees this bees that... It is DRIVING ME MAD! Please for the love of Fo... help me retain what sanity I have left.

  14. Checking if this is a bug: Wine used to require a minimum of .5kg each grape juice and maple syrup, and now it is possible to use smaller measures. Also when mixing .5kg each, before the update you'd get .8kg wine and now you get 1kg. Edit: also you only need to divide out the grape juice to mix -- not the maple. (Eg. mix .5kg of grape juice with 45kg maple -- you will get 1kg wine, 0 grape juice, 44.5kg maple) Edit2: you can also keep maple, juice and wine in the same container while mixing - eg. cauldron contains bulk maple -- drag in a measure of grape juice.. activate and mix into wine.. wine is created in the same cauldron.
  15. I seem to be having an issue with the taste readout regardless of the ql of the item in the sealed container. (Edit: Actually I just found a beverage that is giving me the correct message -- so maybe just some liquids are borked? Or perhaps un-"created"/raw liquids are bugged in general - and "created" liquids might be reading out according to liquid quality?) Both by my beverages skill and by the items contained I should be getting a message of "in the range of..." But I'm not. Beverages skill: 68.56 Ql of wine in sealed wine barrel: 67+ (legacy wine) Readout: [00:03:56] Red wine. This has a very low nutrition value. Also it is strong. Ql of maple sap sealed in wine barrel: 67+ Readout: [00:05:06] A clear liquid with a slightly sweet taste. This has a very low nutrition value. Also it is strong. (Edit: 60some quality grape juice sealed in wine barrel.. is giving correct readout: [00:35:46] The juice of a fruit. This has a very low nutrition value. Created on Luck day, week 1 of the starfall of Dancers, 1062. Also it has a quality in the range of 60 to 64.)
  16. I'm not sure this is *quite* the problem you are describing - but I don't see this up as an idea yet: Are you using USB mouse/headset/soundcard? Maybe that is contributing.   18. I only really knew Duce as staff - but as staff it was immediately and always clear what a stand-up guy he was. Always looking out for good, and had a relentlessness for standing up for what was right and making sure the good won out. Maybe, as others had said, a bit rough on the outside at first, but a really wonderful kind heart inside. The first time (that I can recall atm) of having any extended conversation was him was when I was a brand new newbie GM trainee (for reference, this is not a "real" GM yet). I had been hounding all the big/real GMs with all sorts of questions "how this" "what about that" "theoretically...?" etc... Duce extended me an offer to do some training with him - which I took him up on the next day. Spent a good chunk of time talking me through some basics, simulating a few "practice" situations, giving advice and humoring all my questions. So patient and so helpful. I think I will always think specifically of him, and back to that training, any time I answer certain types of tickets. I will miss him. I kept thinking last night how I will never get hear his input on issues, or his sometimes "unique" antics and stories again. Reading through the replies, all the lines quoted make me smile, a bittersweet smile - but a reminder of Duce. I know he had some health concerns, and I hope he is finally at peace. Maybe, just maybe, even looking down on us from the heavens now as he did as a GM in Wurm. If his family and "real life" friends ever happen to find this thread - I offer my sincere condolences on your loss, he was a good guy. We will all miss him.
  19. Thank you, good catch! Updated Affliction size, and removed p2p only from Elevation. Also I noticed Elevation size matched Independence/Chaos so upgraded its size to "large". Gone are the days when : "The smallest server is Affliction-1/16th the size of Independence and Chaos (Quarter size of the medium servers)." And Xanadu was "64x the size of Affliction!"

  21. It has come to light that certain information on the decay of buildings requires updating. This information has been verified with Devs. The following changes are requested on the following page under the subsection "Other": http://www.wurmpedia.com/index.php/Decay Houses that are abandoned get greatly increased decay. A house is considered abandoned when the writ owner does not log in to the same server for more than 1.5 months (real life). The decay rate for abandoned houses is currently unknown --->Please change to: Houses that are abandoned get greatly increased decay. A house is considered abandoned when the owner does not log in to the same server for more than 3 months (real life). An abandoned house within a perimeter will sustain an additional damage bonus. The decay rates for abandoned houses are currently unknown. N.B.: This calculation is server specific. If you have a building on a server that you do not visit for more than 3 months it will be treated as abandoned. Perimeter is treated the same with wilderness, thus do not reduce decay. ---> Please change to: Perimeter is treated the same as wilderness, thus does not reduce decay. Nor does it increase decay unless the owner of the structure has been away from the server for more than three months. At which time the building will begin to accumulate increased perimeter decay. This occurs in addition to the “abandoned” status decay increase.
