  1. I made this diagram before the connection was opened based on the connection between Chaos and old cluster + how the arrows were drawn on the map we were shown before launch. Can someone verify if it's correct? [ diagram removed since it wasn't correct ] Explanation: From Pristine to Xanadu you'll always end up on the middle of Xanadu's east coast no matter where on Pristine you leave from. From Release to Xanadu your position on Release is proportional to where you end up on Xanadu. If you leave from NW Release you'll end up at NE Xanadu. If you exit from two thirds down the coast on Release you'll end up two thirds of the way down the Xanadu east coast. When sailing east from Xanadu you'll always end up at the middle of Release's west coast no matter where on Xanadu you leave. Can someone verify?
  2. I'm gonna start working on the easternmost canal tonight. Hopefully it will be done sometime tomorrow.
  3. Looking at the map it seems there's some obvious spots for making cave canals that connect the inner lakes to the north and east coast. The canals could be something like this: Since I live on the small lake in the middle of the SE canals I am planning to start the part the project down there. Here's a close-up of those canals: I plan to have the two short ones done shortly after the servers connect. Since the long cave canal connecting to the inner lake is obviously a much bigger project I am looking for other parties interested in getting that part done. The sooner the better to avoid having the area covered with deeds before it's finished. If there's anyone with a lot of experience with creating cave canal entrance I'd love to hear from them. My plan is to start by making the two small ones usable by knarrs. If there's experts capable of creating cog/caravel entrances we can always create parallel canals there. Edit: the long canal in the SE is "only" about 300 tiles long. That shouldn't be too bad.

  6. I would suggest a generous use of diagonal highgways wherever you have to dodge an obstacle, such as a deed or a mountain. There's nothing more annoying than having to navigate 90 degrees corners in places where a diagonal would have made a much more direct road. Besides, making smooth sloped diagonal roads is a nice challenge compared to north/south/east/west ones.

  14. As far as I know there's been no announcement of whether the map shown in the server connection map is the final map or not, but could you add it for now? It would still be useful to make plans for the possibility it's the permanent one. Here's a scaled version of the map from the post: http://i.imgur.com/AQ2TBhu.png I tried using it as a custom map, but it seems custom maps don't work properly when trying to save to cloud or share the map with someone else.
  15. It would make sense to have a limited map available - for example one only showing the coastline and the locations of the spawns.
  16. Models look great! Aside I'm sad to see focus being moved away from making wood types visible to a one-size-fits-all approach. Wagons don't show wood type or dye either. Fixing the "new" woodtypes show hasn't been a priority, neither has overhauling how dyes work (so only dyes the relevant parts of the object). It's sad to see this aspect of the game taking a back seat. While the new ship models do look great, thet also look kinda WoW'ish. I hope that at some point individual customization will be made a priority again - not just pretty models. I know there's technical limitations, but it's still a matter of how prioritizing.
