Seen a lot of people misreading this still !!! So here it is:  Vynora still gets 10% gain on normal skills.(aka digging, mining, wood cutting, ext) changes only effect characteristics tree. (aka body strength, soul death, body, ext)

Guess if they said that then folks wouldn't misunderstand it.  Guess some of us are waiting for someone official to say if it is true or not.

  2. I understand that you do not like looking at things that other players built.  Why not build a fence to block your view of said items.  Most ships are parked off deed.  Folks would be highly po'd to come in to find them gone just because you hate looking at them.

  3. While I do not buy and sell characters etc for real money.  I do know how many do.  I think if you ban it (or attempt to) that it wouldn't do much more than take the advertising for those trades off the wurm forums.  With them on the forums it at least lets you see a bit more about the person you are buying/selling to.  While not protected, so to speak,  you at least can see if they are doing other trades to know if they are semi safe or not.  I think if a way was found to stop some of it that you might lose some of the players that do participate in the market this way.  Will it gain you more?  I'm not sure it would but that is just my opinion.

This is also a good possible option.

The crux here is that all player types are interested in skillgain/character progress.  Free play stops this and demands a payout for it; but it doesn't offer additional incentives for those who choose to remain as free players to make that payout.  If getting stopped at 20 skill isn't going to make someone premium (and, since it is such a low threshold, player investment is low at this point, so the method is ineffective), odds are they are going to move on.

Nor does it offer them any form of "advancement" activity for their character (the focal point in western RPG design), thus you feel you have reached the end of the free game, and will have to pay the subscription from then on.  Great for games with a healthy population, not so great for games in the "candle-light clusters" phase of MMO life.

This notion here is to offer players some form of advancement that is slower than going premium, that has no impact on their character without paying that fee (someone who has ground their potential farming up to 30 is much more likely to preme up to enjoy it than someone who has been stuck at 20 farming for a week with no gains).

Why will they prem at 30 farming instead of preming at 20 farming?  I think if it is raised a while will pass then we will be in this again with the same but why not move it to 40 farming.

  5. Triple upkeep I guess works for people with large deeds and alot of villagers that 'might' help with said upkeep.  I think for many of the hermits that it might be an end to the game.  I spend way more in upkeep than I ever thought about spending on premium.

A couple of potential bugs I found this afternoon:

    1.  With your "faithful" button turned off, you lose faith as a priest for doing something that your diety does not allow when you begin the action, not when finishing it.  This is different than live, and shouldn't be.

    2.  Activating a shovel and packing a grass/steppe tile is disallowed on priests that are restricted from paving.  This is different from live and should not be.

Also, can someone explain the purpose of priests getting a bonus to improving items?

On live, unless changed,  you lose for beginning an action that you cannot do.  I lost down to 99 faith that way.  This is with faithful on too.

  7. If you have the information, what will you do with it?  Will you quietly make a post saying do not have anything to do with this person?  Will you post a single line post in GL saying do not have anything to do with this person?  Or will it turn into an hour long argument that ends up so ugly and lasts for hours that not even the person that started the argument likes in the end?  I think the last choice is how it normally goes anytime this type of thing happens.

  8. The fence names are available to a GM.  They just are not available to a player.  I know that it isn't playing nice to block access to them.  But it isn't something that we cannot deal with as a player.  Putting up the 1x1 shack next to one that is having this issue will stop them from being able to block access to it.   While I do not understand what they are doing, I do know that as a player base if we have access to that name it will be a lynch mob.  I have seen that enough in this game and do not wish for there to be that many new ways for them to happen.

  9. Can we get one additional change please?  We need something that will tell us what god we follow.  Some way to examine our body or something to tell us that.  I have heard that question over and over again so many times.  The answer has always to find something that most of the god's dislike like killing a road or something.  Seems like there won't be as many dislikes as before to test with.

    Thanks
