  1. Then why are they (and most wurm players) playing on freedom with no PVP? Yeah well doh, wild has 5x (or 10x?) less players but the same caps as freedom, obviously it's not gonna be broken there. No it wasn't a problem until rolf went in and changed the code to break it. When will that happen? Next month? Year? I'll repeat myself: Breaking gameplay at that level for undefinite time is unacceptable. If he doesn't have time to do it the right way he should revert it.
  2. I never said that. False. The majority on freedom (and thus the majority in wurm, as wild is like 15% of wurm population now) are not interested in FFA PVP and will ignore epic. Ask around kchat if you don't believe me. Then rolf should just revert all this mess to how it was before and keep coding. Breaking gameplay at that level for undefinite time is unacceptable. To me and many other (look at people posting in this thread) it was a core feature that actually kept us playing and paying.
  3. -1, This is not something that should be done at game-mechanic level. Wurm is a sandbox game and stuff like that should be done by the players. There are lots of churches church-like buildings around, get some decorations, invite guests, find a priest to do the ceremony and go ahead. Could be a nice player-run event (which is something wurm could use a lot more of...)

  5. This is a feature. It was made possible so that new players can get a pelt before they make a butchering knife (which is somewhat hard to make at 0 WS, and might require a pelt to finish) Edit: butchering with the starting shortsword would make more sense i think, but hey... ------------- Other small irritating bugs: * Large anvil, if you activate it in your inventory and try to drop to the ground, it will fail saying something like "the large anvil must be on the ground to use"... doh! * "Coin, iron" vs "Iron coin" * Stuff not stacking in BSB/FSB when it should, for example 2 different kinds of pig food.
  6. Hunting was never as broken as breeding is now, every time i wanted to go out and kill something i went out and did. Now rolf made breeding 100% impossible to please those too lazy to go 5 tiles away from their deed to hunt... And after that we have to wait until he finishes his epic server (which is PVP and prem-only, thus uninteresting to 95% of freedom palyers) until he un-screws-up something that shouldn't have been broken in the first place? Great way to double faceslap your paying customers. Also roflmao @ "grinding is boring but unique" ... yeah a mind numbing grind is a unique feature in modern MMOs, more so those made by indy devs and/or far-east companies lol. Edit: Also, by the time epic is finished all our horses will be long dead from old age, loosing all freedom breeders months/years of breeding and having them start from scratch with wild horses. That'll be good for PR, yeah!
  7. Some ideas: Text labels, place either on a specific spot or selecting an area - this is #1 feature i miss in the current mapper. Export to (jpg/png) image, also allow user to specify zoom level when exporting. Deed planning - place a token and set size in ingame terms (n/s, e/w) and have it draw deed border/perimeter. Terraforming calculator - after the user enters slopes for tile borders he can select an area and see how much dirt he'll need to dig/drop to flatten/raise/lower it to some level. I'll add more later if i think of anything.
  8. So instead of 20k domesticated nonagros per 5000 players we will have 13333? Great idea, rolf totally should do that! I can name at least 20 multipage threads with suggestions about the animal cap, with atleast a dozen of good suggestions made in them. They were all ignored and we got this FUBAR crap instead.
  9. In the works by who? From rolf's blog he is back to coding epic (fail) server and other unrelated stuff, which to feels like we are stuck in the current situation untill enough people start whining / leaving...
  10. Good god, wtf are you even arguing about? With the current the current cap (20k) and active player count (~5k, estimated from unique IP MRTG), every player can only have 4 animals on average, even less because the server uses the same slots to spawn wild animals. No amount of culling, naming, arguing and trolling is going to fix that, no amount of 200-animal deeds culled will either. No amount of anything will make a 4 animals per player cap reasonable under current game mechanics. And nothing will change the fact that this tiny cap decreases every day even more as new players come tho the server. The system is obviously broken and cannot in any way be fixed by the players, Rolf has to do something about it, use your energy to convince him to do so, not argue about useless crap.
  11. Instant moving between containers will make stealing/griefing easier, so -1. What would be nice is the ability to put stuff into a cart as you gather it (mining, digging, woodcutting, etc.) and use it from the cart once you got it there (building, etc). Maybe an option to empty a cart you are already dragging, that drops all items to the ground in a pile.
  12. Rowboats, Buoys, Keyrings and smoked fish: +1 Tin roofs: -1, unless tin becomes more common and/or less localised. Never seen a vein in all the time i play, and it would suck buying it every time i build a house. Salt/meat: -1, don't see much of a point. Also IRL salting meat was mostly done with raw meat... anyway making it a must-have is a bad idea. Aniaml gat: Making carts inaccessible to noobs until they start hunting? -1 Brains: +100 lol Lead: No idea what can be done with it, but making it more useful would be nice. A lot of stuff like pipes and paint was made from it IRL untill people figured out it's toxic...
  13. I meant making the table itself a container. Making plates/bowls/etc. containers could work too, but currently you can't put them on the table in any way....
  14. I totaly see myself doing weeks long round-the-world trips if i could have a mobile base like that, with a B/FSB, a forge and a bed. It would also give a much needed push to shipbuilding so the prices recover a bit. Other fun stuff you could do - make those "big item" slots depend on ship QL, for example a corbita starts with 1 slot, 2 for cog, etc. then for every 25 QL of the ship add another slot. Those slots could also decrease the volume of the cargo hold when in use by appropriate amount. Another idea (which would need some careful balancing, but hey!) make it possible to build upgrades that take up those slots but modify the ships maneuverability, speed, and stuff like that Also, just FYI, a BSB holds ~16k of volume, a Cog can hold ~50k volume, so please cut the "mine a public mine into a ship" BS, it's already more than possible.

    This is some new bug (as in, unrelated to number-of-light-sources limitation) i think, started on my deed too today, nothing in my lamps changed for months.
  17. Call it whatever you want, miscarriages, abortions or whatever. Fact is breeding is still 100% broken on freedom and this is unacceptable.
  18. The other 2 horses gave (non-)birth during the night, still no foals to be seen. But sure, it must be some more random cases of miscarriage, not at all related to the changed system ================================ Also, look at the creatures graph: Notice how the total count was varying by 1-2k (you can see that it was going on for some days on the other grahs) then suddenly it went to steady 40k and stayed there. I suspect the red arow is when the very first births started to happening and filled whatever was left on the cap... so some lucky (or just fast enough to login and breed right after the change) players did get some foals yesterday.

  20. No, they were both at 0 left when the non-birth occured, and 2 others with similar timers are at 0 right now. Note that pregnancy started at very early 10th and ended at very late 13th, almost it's 4 full RL days and with some funny rounding can be equal to 5 wurm weeks. EDIT: err, seems that i'm a little bit confused, one of the horses - Southnanook started from 6 and might have been at 1 when the pregnancy finished/aborted. The other aborted one was at 0 and right now 2 horses that started from 5 and 6 are both at 0. Funny wurm timers :
