  1. Okay I missed this half baked not well thought out system as I am awaiting release of the steam server! Certainly not a fan of this as your just punishing deeds for setting up away from BLH which seems counter intuitive!
  2. okay I have been attempting to sift thru this thread and I have many questions! 1) Why the hell do we need a raid window in wurm??? 2) Can you still tap a token for silver and only get 50% and then the deed automatically goes into safety from being tapped again for X period of time??? ^^^^ 2 From my carebear perspective is far more enjoyable! 3) WTF is wrong with small late night raids? That is pretty much at the core of small group pvp? Raid Times promotes big zerg on zerg not interested at all.... ^^^^ Again as a carebear I didn't really consider offline raids to be that big of a deal. 4) I have noticed some bizzare comments about off dead mine doors and maxing their QL etc??? WTF is this about??? One of the greatest feature of the game is building canals thru mountains so you can sail your knarr from point A to B faster and stealthier than the other guy! If we are somehow limiting what can be done with a mine off dead then that sounds like a terrible idea in my opinion. It's not like a High QL stone door could hold back anybody determined to get thru it, I know I have bashed thru many in my day. Again it's hard to really understand where we are in this regard as a vet returning to the game after some time but my 2 cents is less limitations the better! But limiting QL on a mine door just seems silly!!! 4a) Building inside of a mine sounds freaking awesome! I am quite sure that's a feature I always wanted in this game and from this thread I can't tell if it exists or it doesn't exist in this upcoming server but I sure hope it does exist! Furthermore any limitations on Mine Reinforcements or Mine door quality is again DUMB! There is nothing wrong with letting a player make a vault that he can feel safe and secure in as most pvp should happen out and about in the world not over a person's belongings in general..... 5) For what reason have we taken away the ability to ride Hell Horses and Unicorns that seems frankly arbitrary! And again why take away and or limit content? 5a) I am seeing comments about horses and when we can ride and how long it takes to tame etc etc??? Horses were far and away the most fleshed out content in the whole game and raising horses it's bar none my favorite portion of this game! So why there are so many comments regarding balancing of one of the best systems makes me wonder what has happened while I was away??? Horses should take time to breed it's part of what brings value to a good horse is it's not something you can just magically create in a day or even a week. So if you have done any bizarre messing with the time table to get too a 5 trait horse for instance then that sounds nothing but bad for my ears!
  3. The fact that BLE existed usually saved new black lighters because the BLH group was typically those who would help new players and who would guide and teach them... The BLE types were the ones that would knock down their wooden wall for the lols....
  4. I don't want to make a deed in a safe zone.... BLH wasn't a safe zone it was simply inconvenient to travel to the southern parts of it! People still did... Perhaps you all should figure out there are more playstyles then pure pvp and a server supposedly releasing to attract new players really shouldn't be tossing noobs into a Elevation style combat zone, not if they want them to have an impression of the game that is remotely positive.... You know they are going to make there wood hut that took them all day with there tiny farm and someone who understands the game is going to come buy and tear down their wall with a Knife then they're going to rage quit and say screw this. Before experiencing anything that makes wurm great, before breeding their first 5 speed or digging a canal from one side of BLH to the other for ships to sail down. Or making their first rare item!!! I am a proud carebear who prefers pvp servers, I served BL in my own ways with building roads and canals and providing horses to BLE, Corn to sac etc... Care Bears are vital to a good community just as much as the most hardcore champion! Don't alienate them... If you can't understand me just wait till you can't understand the flood of new blood tomorrow that's going to be crying bloody murder, as they get welcomes to BL like everyone else does! Safe zone lol.... There is no such thing in BL...

  6. LOL so you admit in type that increasing rates is something players would definitely want! As the point of your argument is to say new players won't pick the old servers? Uhm why make new servers if not to say hey new people welcome to Wurm a great friendly game where we have tailored it just for you and made the best new servers we could just for you! By Raising our Skill rates and expanding the Land in PvP similar to the Epic cluster so every playstyle can enjoy the game the way they like it.... with the most blood thirsty living on the front lines and those who want a more leisurely life on the home servers??? No your argument is literally none of the new players will want to play your ancient server where everyone has 120 GM skill's that took them 10 years to grind??? Because they want to be a super noob among gods? Instead we design a new pvp server that appeals to the most hardcore of our current player base and we will wonder why this new shiny server won't attract many new people?!? Seriously I don't want to sound like negative nancy here as while I may have been gone for some time I put many years into this game! And I would like to see it succeed but the current formula you have for steam release isn't going to do it! In Fact you should be ashamed to go thru so much work to release on steam and then put such a shoddy product forward!
  7. You don't seem to understand I don't just want some hovel My deeds were considered some of the best deeds BLH ever had. a 500 * 500 Island is what I consider my front yard.... And you think I am going to be happy with a shack on a 21*21 plot https://ibb.co/CV77jZz <--- Picture of what I am use to building ^^^^ Small picture hard to make out details, there are 4 guard towers in that pic a colossus of Libila, what was the largest Bridge on the server at the time, and the entire perimeter of the island was 180 slope dirt walls... That island was half the size of the supposed island you want everyone to share???
  8. And PvP is not everything! I know that might be hard to understand in the world where you have a pve and pvp option! The PvE option is pointless however th pvp option is just as pointless unless your only care in the game is PvP... And how many players coming from steam are going to want non stop pvp? Or How many players coming from steam are going to want to be able to build a nice house with a cool farm and pvp every now and again! this is why the Epic Cluster is so good.... Players like myself stay on the Home server and players like you go to Elevation and we are BOTH happy!
  9. And you read all the limitations on that deed that can only be 21*21 on an island that is only 500*500 big.... I am sorry I don't build small.... Yggdrasil was not a small city it was an entire island and I expect that type of content in the new game.... I am also BLH for life and a 500*500 size blh home island = death and destruction... Nothing about this setup sounds remotely appealing! PvP in my Pie Graph is maybe 10% of what matters, I am far more interested in breeding the first 5 trait horse or make the first rare guard tower etc... Where as someone like Rakki is far more pvp oriented! In a layout like the Epic Cluster Rakki and I coexist somewhat peacefully.... But a game like wurm should not ever be catered to a small narrow window of a very specific playstyle wurm is more than that....
  10. Well these changes if your forgive my bluntness certainly seem tailor made too those people who currently play pvp! And Honestly I was excited, to come back to the game but now I am far from excited. A) PVE in any game sucks balls! Not an option... B ) PvP is not everything in wurm this game is so much more than the pvp! And most people who come to try out this game are going to get into a very unfriendly experience in a game that is not forgiving with a bunch of veterans who have every edge. In what world do you think an Elevation style battle royale server would be good for a steam release to attract players! The travel time to raid a home server like on the epic cluster is a must to create a balanced play style as it gates pvp behind travel. Without that you are going to be showing a bunch of new people a turd why would you not put your best foot forward when attempting to bring this game to steam??? Sorry after reading this I will either play on PvE or more likely just not even bother returning to the game as my excitement has been drained by this revelation... That your releasing a game your current player base wants to a crowd of people who likely don't want this at all.... You need to make a Less Grindy Version of the Epic Cluster for Steam or your just going to fall on your face again!
  11. How big is the pvp map I have concerns as everyone is talking like it's going to be one big server?!? (Elevation) If so it will be a bloodbath which for the most pvp oriented might be fine but I certainly don't play on pvp for non stop pvp, I prefer the pve aspects with the ability to take part in pvp from time to time! Epic Cluster was great for this because of travel time it gates pvp behind raids that needed to travel and was great for my playstyle! So far there is no map to look at??? Which is odd as every time you launched new servers in the past you usually teased us with maps for weeks if not months ahead of time?!? Also why on earth are you not using the curve for a steam release??? You want to attract new players well your not going to do it with the most grindy version of the game!!! Just saying!!! You need a big shinny map for pvp like the epic cluster and you need skill gain that's even better than epic, if your really wanting to expand Wurm's playerbase....

  16. What do you need to do in order to sail a caravel under that bridge that your talking about??? Hint you need to dig down to water!!! After digging you can sail a ship under it..... why because it now has tall dirt pillars with short supports but supports none the less! But because it has supports it has Collision with a ships hit box and Mauls when you bash it etc etc....why because its longer then 5 tiles long.... This obviously boils down to coding... and the short bridge that can pass ships likely has far more code because of it.... and likely is missing some kind of feature or coding that they want to leave on the bigger bridges.... My guess is something to do with bashing.... But I am sure this all boils down too two different codes for small short 5 tile long bridges and a different code for the rest... And most all the issues definately deal with collision! Like for instance debarking a cart and ending up under the bridge! Mobs passing thru... Items dropped on bridge not registering on the bridge etc....
  17. -1 again we don't need more magical condensing.... If you want a 1*1*1 tile condensor then you should only be able to add as much to it as it would realistically appear to be able to hold in that space.... EI it would be hard to cram any more then 3-4 BSB's on a tile so it certainly should not be able to hold 12 BSB's at most it should be 4....
  18. Its really not that hard to figure out.... Collision was an issue how to get ship hit box's to pass thru an item with collision..... oh take away collision for short bridges..... ah we can now get ships thru.... leave collision on the bridges with supports ensure there tall enough to avoid collision with a ships hit box... code collision for humans and rideable creatures for short bridges.... put it live..... oh no mobs are passing thru bridges.... code a fix for the collisionless bridges so that they also collide with mobs....
  19. In picture 1 The base of the slope is solid and you cannot walk under it at the point needed to place a Tall wall .... where you can walk is where you can indeed place a tall wall.... Picture 2 is just another angle of picture 1 Picture 3... you don't need 80 clearance you need 80 dirt over sea level.... and you are clearly well above sea level.... however the slope needed to make that ramp determined you would not be able to stick a tall wall under it in such a way that It would phase thru the ramp and block movement did it? Picture 4.... That is not more then 5 tiles in length so again doesn't require the clearance and oddly has different collision properties as I assume they decided to get rid of collision on bridges this short... ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Can you walk thru a support? Can you sail thru a support? Can you drive thru a support? Bridges with supports have collision because the supports require collision...... Do you remember all the issues they had with Mobs passing thru these short bridges??? Because they don't have collision!
  20. In regards to hide's..... Over here in Epic we typically /random for all the hide..... instead of everyone hanging onto little pieces of scrap!
  21. Getting on my priest account is a chore! One I do not look forward too..... its a painful experience to burn through 2-3 Hours of time and 500-2000 Corn to get a handfull of decent casts and a half dozen items! Shattering really isn't needed in the equation.... its painful enough without it!
  22. Okay first off I want to say your Color Choice of Red on this Creamy background really hurts the eye's to read not the font or the size of the font.... I found that I needed to highlight your text to make it readable! Secondly your Position that everyone skips to End game gear sounds very not like the game I play! I assume your on Freedom??? Because I purposely sell, 70QL instead of 90QL With 70 Power casts instead of 90 Power casts on my merchant! And I do so for 50-80 copper and they move..... My 90QL 90 Power stuff sits there!!! So I am not experiencing your market, but then again I live on Epic not Freedom.... And your pricing over there makes me cringe! Now as for the Main Point of your post? Advertising, honestly I think you have a point.... After Star Wars Galaxies Imploded and Ultima Online created Trammel, I found myself floundering around threw games for years I have been waiting searching and hoping for a Good Sandbox MMO like Ultima Online and Star Wars Galaxies were..... I played Darkfall and Mortal Online, Eve you name it but I never really knew what wurm was. Honestly I kept seeing the name in threads and lists but Wurm = Lemmings or something in my mind.... I figured it was some game where birds run off cliff's.... Seriously I think Wurm was out for 6-7 Years before I finally realized that it was a Sandbox MMO..... So I agree that Wurm does have a marketing problem. However it doesn't exactly have the money for marketing either! So its a catch22.... But ultimately Wurm is not a Sandbox Game for everyone, its Action Timers and the amount of grind involved is going to turn away far more players then those that stay and for that matter its a niche Sandbox.... Even if its currently the best Sandbox out, "I keep my fingers crossed that someone will release the Sandbox MMO that makes me forget all about wurm" Ultima Online and SWG I sunk my life into those games without a second thought.... But Post time period after those games has been me spending my time wondering what game I am going to play today, or looking and reading about new MMO's I have been constantly searching for years, waiting and I am begining to think I am likely going to die before the next great sandbox game that totally encaptures me ever arrives! Until then I have wurm, its the game I keep coming back to because it has most of the features I want..... Its almost the game I am dreaming about.... Its the game I have settled with for years as a placeholder if you will..... So in a way its sad that the best Sandbox = Wurm and that Wurm is an aquired taste..... But I cross my fingers that someday the best Sandbox out will taste like Bacon!!! Like it use to be in 1997.....
