  1. Right but before you got there means before you were there to fight it. It could have died and split because of many reasons, tower guards, other valrei mobs, maybe even age and hunger. If there were multiple uttachas of the same size in that one spot, odds are that is what happened. If all of the splits were caused by you, then you should get corpses. If one of the splits happened to non-player reasons, it never seemed to count it as a split so it tries to split too many times when you kill the rest of its "lives". Odds are that this really is what happened, since you said you killed two stages, when there should be 3. One splits into multiple, then those split once more.
  2. If it died to non-player reasons and split before you got there, one of your kills will split it out of existence instead of the last kill giving a corpse
  3. Yeah it is, I meant the thread/organizing stuff. I don't think there's a max limit to links(?) so if there isn't then everyone should be able to link the only downside is making the spell harder to cast
  4. Is this for xanadu only or all servers? I don't read freedom sections, so I wouldn't be able to keep much track of this and I also am on inde and hardly playing so not much of a contributor either but would like to complete at least this part of the journal if possible, but being that my priest is bl template I doubt there even will be a rite of death any time soon. Mrgary though, 86 or something channeling
  5. Local would be pretty bad because it means if you're hunting someone in the woods you can just target from local tab then try to shoot until it lets you and now you know you're facing the right way to find the guy. If it's in combat tab already then sure
  6. The curve is literally so people can make 70ql armor at 45 skill so it doesn't take as long to get into pvp, not really a gameplay experience changer. Sorcery/valrei was the one thing that really separated epic from freedom
  7. add it so they can see how much the curve dunks on skilling so they can finally realize how wrong they were on grinding to 90-100 on epic pre-wu skill system being so "easy"
  8. I mean it's not like anyone can't just say "we'll discuss this and let you know if its possible or not" instead of just making an irrelevant post
  9. This is pretty much an extremely short term solution to keep people entertained while chaos/epic will continue rotting, giving the people in charge an excuse to leave it that way. "we gave you what you wanted, what more do you need?!" considering 3 updates that mostly came from people not staff anymore is already in their eyes a lot of attention for pvp. I mean I'm not against the idea, because it's clear nothing will be done to help pvp for at least another year, it just feels more like a final blaze of glory before players decide "that was fun for a while, I'm done with this game for real since chaos/epic will never be that fun again", especially if in 2020 we get told to wait another year
  10. It makes more sense when you realize the vast majority of what you said is because of people that aren't staff anymore Is there anyone that plays elevation that is against a server reset? The only anti-reset I can recall seeing are home server players against resetting/removing home servers, or against skill resets.
  11. are all the players meant to have a photographic memory of gm hall to know what's missing that shouldn't be
  12. So epic and more specifically elevation the main epic pvp server will be completely left untouched with no attention for at least another year on top of the years already and potentially more, because of a potential but currently not thought of situation, is that correct? Why would anyone play on elevation now? There is no point to invest time and money into the server because there might be a change to the map sometime in the future but no guarantees. Can the people in charge of this game look at us with a straight face and explain to us why they think anyone should spend their money and time on the server that may or may not last? Or are people expected to ignore epic for the next 1+ years?
  13. Is this purely a hypothetical situation being a reason to delay doing something, or is there an actual idea in store that you know will require a new map, and if so, why can't a new map be designed with the thoughts in mind and go from there? Does that potential specific change mean home servers would have to reset too, should they be worried? The only thing relevant to just elevation that would require a new map would be related to land control, and the amazing tower influence update for elevation that has done nothing but add a constant lag doesn't give high expectations, and beyond that, the post above me says the rest
  14. Are they though? I may be mistaken, but I think I joined the largest main alliance on independence, I used to login and see a massive list of players. Now when I login during prime times I see on average like 2-4 people and their alts, I dunno how they're enjoying the game if they aren't playing.
  15. It needs a new map yes but it feels pointless when it will be left alone like the last map reset. It will stagnate again but the thing is, why would people rebuild when they don't know what these alleged plans for epic are in 2020 2021 the future? Just slapping a new map on elevation doesn't give me any drive or feeling any trust to come back to epic. It needs a new map and the attention that it has earned but apparently doesn't deserve
  16. Maybe all the bl priests on freedom can get together and pray and sermon and do an organized public rite cast so everyone with a bl priest can get in. I suggest independence, so mrgary doesn't have to travel Or maybe maybe We can make it all a true community (still lol) event by allowing all faiths to link for rites. Or just, you know, allow all faiths to link to all faiths because otherwise it's just an artificial cost barrier forcing useless 2s battery alts until you get 100 faith for regular spells.
  17. Are you justifying pve toxicity especially yours against pvp, when pve players are saying that pvp players should tell them why they should try pvp but those threads attempting to do so are ruined by said pve toxicity vs pvp? Pve toxicity vs pvp does not help the game at all, nor does pvp toxicity vs pve, but I'm not seeing a whole lot of that one.
  18. I don't understand this feeling. There have been countless threads on the forums from pvpers aimed at pvers to talk and understand why they don't play pvp, clear up misconceptions, and promote the pvp aspect of the game. They are -always- met by toxicity from the pve side saying how people may just not want to pvp and stop forcing it on everyone or they just want more brick slaves or whatever weird reason it was in whatever thread. Pvpers have supported pvp with a huge passion, yes there are some toxic pvpers the same way pve has them, but what you see going on lately is passion reaching a breaking point. Passion from the players meeting a lack of passion in return from those in charge. How can anyone in good conscience try to promote people to jump on a sinking ship just because it's a nice ship when it's not? We just want the ship fixed first so it can sail again. The problem is that those that can fix it are letting it sink further and further to the point we wonder when is it too far to be saved, and that's why we aren't happy with the answers finally given. Plain and simple, if pvpers did not support the pvp side of the game, none of these threads would exist.
  19. Probably because as my post in that thread showed, we are given the same answer year after year after year. In what game is postponing serious development with excuse after excuse for actual years ever acceptable and makes customers happy??? In what world do we not end up feeling like we are scammed into a limbo of paying and playing expecting we will see changes because we get told it will get attention after this or that? I think pvp customers have earned the right to say "give me now", even though they actually aren't
  20. No offense to Ausimus or Darklords especially since I don't know what it's like since I left the team, but the hard working devs that truly devoted their time into developing wurm (people like Tich and Sindusk) are gone. In all of our experiences, they are not keeping us informed otherwise there would not be the plethora of epic/pvp related threads popping up lately. In my experience doing QA as a GM which are also pretty apparent to people following patch notes, pve issues get handled "asap" until recently for example they said they had a fix for the moving breaking actions when not really moving bug but didn't even push it to live for weeks despite restarting even just for easter eggs. Pvp issues are harder to get attention as fast as pve ones, and epic even worse. For one quick example off the top of my head, the "new" troll combat which is pretty much just adding more boring attacks to it to make them way harder accidentally went live on pve, and that was fixed immediately. However that new troll combat was on epic for more than a year before that for "testing" and still left for a long time after despite complaints. Maybe all they were testing was our patience, who knows.
  21. Theres 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. See you guys in 2020.
  22. It's a current trend, you can see here https://jenn001.game.wurmonline.com/mrtg/paying.html 35 drop in the week graph, 116 drop in the monthly graph. 2652 peak 2151 current, 501 prem drop in roughly 5 months is roughly a loss of 100 a month which averages to also roughly a loss of 25 a week, and the graph since the peak at new years is pretty linear on average. Obviously it will start to reach a loss of 0 per month but it does not appear to be doing that right now, so it paints the depressing picture that we're talking about and asking the devs to do something to fix it.
  23. Don't take any offense from deskjet, he is just an angry child. One time people in MR killed him on his home server so he brought an alt to our capital to drop like 5 sand and spend a couple hours swearing at us and said I had a small pee pee
  24. I never said that, I said pvp needs players to function more than pve needs players to function. People as a whole are leaving the game as evident by the steady decline of 20-40 prems a week, pvp just feels it more because they naturally had less players to begin with. Though seeing as the pvp population hasn't been really changing as it can't get much lower, the steady prem drop is either pvp players that were premming without logging in (doubtful), or it's pve players leaving the game. Right now, it seems that I've been waiting years for devs to do something about both pvp and pve players leaving the game. We've been at a decline from 6300~ in the start of 2015 and we are currently 2148, so it's not even exaggeration or clueless.
  25. Combat from what I recall a dev telling me is actually the best chances of getting affinities due to how it works. It's a constant check every single time you swing, parry, block, get a stance check, etc or something like that
