I agree, there is no need to make ship building dependent on priests.No one would want a ship with out a cast ,if it was so.Making the speed based on boat quality would be much better for a ship builder. -1 to woa or any other cast on a ship

Is it possible that the players are pushing the animals to areas least travelled.That is, they kill animals in areas players travel soon after they spawn, and the next spawn may not be in the same area or even a well travelled area but actually in a isolated area.So what we have is the creatures being scarce in populated area and crowded in wilds.

Are you sure its J -10 -12 I've been all over the north and east side and only found iron there so far.Any chance you could be refine the search area?
